Oh jeni (((hug)))

The link is to a song called "one more step along the world I go". When I see the thread "Another step forward", it makes me think of this song.

Perhaps I could offer it to Bags as a theme tune for the thread. Or perhaps not. smile

Mmm,mm?
Perhaps better not!
Although, on the other hand?

I don't think I can deal with any more decisions today!
I can't even decide what to watch(if anything) on tv!
This judge today has driven me crazy!
Ok! She's new and she ll learn!
BUT!!!

One I love is Lord, you have come to the seashore. I believe it was originally Spanish. I love the simplicity of the lyrics and the lovely tune. I always get emotional when I hear this sung, especially by a children's choir.

I am sorry but:-the one that was going through my head today was
"oh god are help in ages past!"

bagitha Wed 15-Feb-12 21:59:43

Just read this thread smile. Got it in one. Very appropriate, I'd say. wink

I only listened to the first line though. I have sung that song, long ago. Very jolly.

I should say, just read the last page of this thread, about jingl's clue.

bagitha Wed 15-Feb-12 22:01:12

Just come across this link. Son and DIL chose "One more Step Along the World I Go" for baby GS funeral service - very uplifting. Think not very well known but certainly remember singing at school.

wotsamashedupjingl Thu 01-Mar-12 17:52:47

I love tht one GranB.

I still sing it. smile

So sorry for sad circumstances. thanks

eGJ Thu 01-Mar-12 18:23:13

Sidney Carter wrote 'One more step' when asked to speak at a Junior School leaving assembly. He felt it would be better than a speech and the words are so good. Glad to hear it was uplifting Granb thanks

wotsamashedupjingl Thu 01-Mar-12 18:35:54

Oh yes. And he wrote Lord of the Dance, and When I needed a Neighbour. All good ones!

Another lovely hymn everyone's grandsons?

MaggieP Fri 06-Apr-12 08:59:30

Good morning jingl, I just clicked on your everyone's grandsons thread to hear the beautiful voices of There is a Green Hill Far Away, very apt for Good Friday, after a fresh, chilly walk with the dogs, to listen to that was very uplifting and a good start to my day! So thanks.
Happy Easter fellow Gransnetters. grin

Abide With Me (in life and death dear Lord abide with me). Sung this hymn at my Mum's funeral it was her favourite, it always makes me sad. Also Song for Athene by Sir John Tavener beautiful music.

wotsamashedupjingl Fri 06-Apr-12 09:25:18
