I have just had an enjoyable time looking at soop's pictures and photos. Great paintings, and if I did not live here I would like to live there!

These things happen soop and your loving support will mean the world to your son and dil.
Every family should have a "soop". smile

Soop, so sorry you have been having such a tough time. You seem to be coping with it amazingly well, with courage and compassion.flowers

soop I can empathise with your troubles, having had a year of real strife with ex-DIL and my son last year. These things become momumental for a while and then both parties move on in their own way. Having a calm approach from you will be invaluable for them. flowers

soop, I feel for you. You seem to have got your equilibrium back but there must be moments when you feel quite bleak. I'm glad you have your visit to the wee man to look forward to. flowers

Oldgreymare Wed 13-Jun-12 09:47:54

Soop.... {smile], only just read thro' this thread but it seems you have had masses of love and support from everyone, just adding a little bit more from me!

soop Wed 13-Jun-12 11:41:45

Whenever I visit this cosy "chat room" I'm bowled over by the messages of comfort and support. I wish that we could all gather around a round table groaning with delicious refreshments and talk to our heart's content. If only! We'd probably need sleeping bags, so that we could have a sleep-over. I promise to keep you updated about the GN first anni article that will appear in The Lady [hopefullly 22nd June]. If I'm not allowed to advertise the magazine, I'm sure that the name can blocked by our good friends you know who. wink Once again, a huge THANK you. I'm so lucky to have you all. flowers

Oh wow soop can we have a virtual sleep over have got my leopard print onesy and my polar sleeping bag ready....popcorn,marshmallows,wine,Donald,....

soop Wed 13-Jun-12 18:38:46

Hang on nellie That Donald's trouble! Our feral cat Rory, growls at intruders. Can you image the fracas if Donald pays a visit! As for the leopard print onesy...he'd go mental. Mind you, if the RSPCA man should turn up, he might well approve of your crafty feline disguise and take you back to his place. wink

An Englishman needs time?

nelliedeane Wed 13-Jun-12 20:16:29

I have all the time in the world.....just not the patiencegrin

soop Thu 14-Jun-12 11:36:59

Well, when I mentioned to Mr soop that we're to have a sleepover, he suggested that Bags might supply some tents...we could all camp on the beach...have a bonfire and barbecue. Mr soop will act as butler and supply us with cocktails. Imagine sitting on the seashore, as the sun sets behind the islands of the inner Hebrides getting plastered, high as kites and enjoying our ourselves in a perfectly improper fashion grin wine cupcake

GoldenGran Thu 14-Jun-12 11:41:44

Yes please for a sleep over SOOP grin

soop Thu 14-Jun-12 11:43:54

Golden Yay...the more the merrier!

Bags Thu 14-Jun-12 12:06:04

Packing tents as we speak, soop. How many do we need? I'll bring a gazebo wotsit so that if it rains on our beach cooking fire (as if!), we can still sizzle the sausages and then make smores (melted marshmallows sandwiched between two choccie biccies) as the fire dies down. Are veggie burgers all right for non-meat eaters?

soop Thu 14-Jun-12 12:23:34

Bags If some of us are prepared to share, a dozen tents should suffice. We should keep one free for Donald Duncan and those of us who get a wee bit out of hand such as *nellie* no names mentioned, for fear of gutter press getting whiff of things! wink

jeni Thu 14-Jun-12 12:31:47

Having just returned from Amsterdam I topped up supplies! grin

soop Thu 14-Jun-12 12:38:09

jeni...I knew we could rely on your good sense! wink

soop Thu 14-Jun-12 14:26:05

Better have sleepover sometime next week. Have appointment with "drop-bot" specialist - tomorrow in Glasgow. So it's an early start in the morn. Bet he's not half as much fun as that delectable you-know-who! wink

soop Thu 14-Jun-12 14:28:07

Sadly can't drop in to see dear Bags. Mind you, bot could feel a tad sore, so will be for the best. hmm

nelliedeane Thu 14-Jun-12 16:46:15

Wishing your Botty well tomorrow soop and as we speak sorting my 9 berth tent out and sleeping bags, can I feel a calidhe coming on[have I spelt it right]...

Promise I won't get out ofhand,.....unless you ask nicely grin
