Another what I did today thread

Looking after under-fives is exhausting! When my little grandsons have stayed over, I need to rest and recharge my batteries the next day, as I ache and feel tired. My 62 year old sister is still fostering a baby (at least her husband is now retired) and I don't know where she finds the energy.

Mr soop had a general anaesthetic and the repaired femoral hernia was re-repaired with mesh. The surgeon said that it was "text book successful". He's sore and badly bruised but overjoyed to be home again. Rory "gonnaballs" is curled up beside him on the sofa. They are snoring [pleasantly]. Mr soop wishes to say a big thank you for the many kind messages.

Thank you all! He is a dear, dear man, who is trying hard not to be frustrated. This meeting is one where he is a bit of a star player, and he is also dying to get out and do his job. And I sometimes want to strangle him. Will now go to the thread on said subject. #chinuptime

Working on the NHS 111 campaign today, but have popped into the pub across from the office to get online and catch up with my personal and freelance stuff and have a cup of coffee. I may go to see a film after work if the mood takes me.

I spent yesterday in hospital having 2 screws taken out of my toe joint.
Thanks to 'administration systems being in a state of flux', total cock-up , I had to sit waiting for 12 hours, op and recovery time another hour.
Got there at 7.15am,got home at 8.30pm very thirsty and very hungry.

Pyjama day today

I wasn't allowed anything from midnight until after the op, and the anaesthetic makes me sick, so it was 20 hours between [gagging]

When I went in for my last hip replacement I had nil by mouth from midnight. At 2.30 pm the consultant came to tell me that the instruments had not been properly sterilised so he couldn't go ahead. He rebooked me for the next week as first on the list.
Boy was I cross!

Oh whenim if only! Must be tiring would so love that sort tiredness sorry not meaning to be unkind just had very bad day yesterday!

Here I am at the Hilton in Birmingham, having had a very comfortable drive. Theseus is at a meeting and in a minute I am meeting some friends in the bar!

I do worry dreafully in advance of things, and now think that I have been in this bubble of caring and doing for over three weeks, and was almost reluctant to step out of it. But there was no way out, and I did it, and I will try to learn from this. Meanwhile, my dear friends, you all understood exactly! So thank you.
