One of those days today! I was trying to get packed for my hospital stay, tidy up the house. I did a woollen wash and put stuff out on the line. I was aiming to get out in time for lunch with my knitting group friends.
I then started to clean the E bay high chair DD bought for use here. Not a good idea! If you put a tap on, make sure the plug is out of the sink. Don’t go off and do something else!
So I rushed back into the flood, upstairs to the airing cupboard, got out the “doggy towels” to mop up. I cleared up, whilst paddling about in the room in wet slippers, socks and trouser bottoms. The tap had over flowed across the work surface into the cupboard underneath. This soaked a box of washing powder, which is now in the shed drying out. The box will need re-gluing.
There is moral here somewhere.
During this crisis I was talking on the phone to SIL who rang to wish me well in hospital.
I have now girded up my loins for parathyroid surgery tomorrow.
Due to go in at 8am beds permitting with hopefully just an overnight stay. I have no idea how I will feel afterwards.
Probably come home with a bolt through my neck! 
Very happily my lovely DD is coming over on Saturday to cook me a meal and administer TLC, her suggestion, knowing that her father is as much use as a chocolate fireguard at such times. Its very useful having a nurse in the family she was so lovely today, and I will see DGS. 
JessM there is NO WAY I would ask dd to do jobs! She and I do things completely differently and it would lead to arguement s which I don't want.
Other than that it will be nice. To have them staying.
I've been trawling the net for my daughter-in-law's birthday gift. So many hours of deliberating. At last, I've found just the thing: a wee red leather shoulder bag by Osprey. I'm thrilled.

I went to the pub for lunch and, as always, the waitress commented, "Wow! You were hungry!" Err yes! It's what we go for. To eat the food.
Are grey haired people supposed to leave half of the meal on the plate? And have no pudding?

We (my DH , DS and I) went to have a meal last night in an Italian restaurant and my son ordered pasta and muscles, he asked the waiter for parmesan and he(the waiter) threw a hissy fit, saying it would be terrible to put parmesan on that particular meal!! literarly I thought the guy was a nutso and told my son that if he wanted parmesan it, but he wouldnt, I think he was a bit unsure how the waiter would react, maybe start crying or something!! It really was that intense.
I think that was very bad for the waiter to make my son feel bad just because he wanted parmesan on his meal, hilarious .
It was very nice food though, so will be back, nutcase waiter or not ha ha

Well Italian food is delicious, it really is, I love the Italian language too,such a beautiful language. I can speak some. I traveled through Italy many times and love it very much, The Chef at this Restaurant is amazing, I told my DH if I ever won the lottery I would hire him to live in our house

number...Nope! Didn't go anywhere on Friday. The Kintyre Peninsula experienced "payback time": a blizzard of monumental ferocity. Power went off at breakfast time [pylons collapsed under the weight of ice and snow] 
Trees and telegraph poles down, roads with up to 11' drifts on the verges. The generators couldn't get away from the ferry terminal, police closed the road through the village and we were cut from for four days. The power was restored late last night. We've had no hot water, so today's shower was sheer bliss. We toasted bread using the fire, warmed up soup on a one-ring butane camping thingy. Slept in our clothes, as the house was bitterly cold. Sorry to say, that the local village is still without power. To travel the 14 miles to Tarbert means joining a convoy, led by a snow plough...one way traffic until it turns around and travels back. Neighbours have been so thoughtful. We were given a sack of coal and a sack of logs. A lady dropped by with some condensed soups, biscuits and Mars bars. We shall repay them in kind, now that we can get out of the drive.
An item of really GOOD news...Rory can now [gingerly] place his poorly foot on the ground. He has spent lots of quality cat-time sleeping and purring on my lap. Our friends in the village have lost five ducks to a mink. The creature tunneled its way under the enclosure and bit off their heads...one each night, for the past five nights. They have laid a trap. Wondering, was is it a mink that injured our Rory?
I'm catching up with laundry. When I've finished, I shall return to catch up with the happenings on GN. 
soop it good to see you back and in good spirits, someone heard you mention Kintyre had no snow so far didnt they and sent it with a vengance pleased to hear mrS and rory are fine.
Good job you had Rory to keep you warm. Glad he's on the mend.

Happy news about the furry one Soop - he sounds to be improving at last. Probably enjoying being pampered now he's feeling a bit less sore. Also pleased that you have survived the Siberian blast and are back in touch with the outside world.
