on Sunday, then I believe it will show that this country has lost any small semblance of moral decency it was holding onto. And that the heads of a national institution have let all thoughts of ethical reasoning go out of the window in favour of political correctness.

I can only hope that it doesn't make number one.

But, my God, this country has sunk to an all-time low.

Very sad.

I am trying so hard not to let the death of PMT take up my time and to ignore as much of the hype and nonsense as possible. But I did download Ding Dong. I am not a typical yob but a retired headteacher and president of the local WI!! All kinds of people really disliked PMT's policies and attitudes not just miners!

j08 Sun 14-Apr-13 19:22:21

Wow! Head of the local WI. Doesn't get better than that.

Former headmistress? #Godhelpthekids

Lilygran Sun 14-Apr-13 19:24:57

You don't mess with the WI! Remember what they did to Blair!

J08 Nanaej has a history of service. So what qualifies you to speak about decency then – especially on behalf of the entire country?

And please don't tell me what threads I am allowed to follow or post on. Just because you start one doesn't mean that you have any rights over it.

absent Sun 14-Apr-13 19:27:06

And please don't swear at me without any kind of justification.

j08 Sun 14-Apr-13 19:57:17

I didn't know I was speaking on behalf of the nation!!!!!!!

There was me thinking I was just speaking for little old me!!! grin

MiceElf Sun 14-Apr-13 20:03:31

Jo numbers, you are not speaking on behalf of the nation. Neither, as usual, do you address the issue. But that's to be expected. However, your sneering comments do not add to the discussion, but simply indicate your own prejudices.

Ooooh I'm flattered. Being waited for! Wow! I've been busy went to Mass this morning, cooked dinner for seven family members and looked in here.

And I find I'm been waited for. Gosh, it's enough to turn a girl's head.

And yes, on this forum I think it's quite reasonable to address the issue and refrain from personal sneering.

BTW I LOVE rats, especially pet ones.

j08 Sun 14-Apr-13 20:24:22

Jolly good! (can't post more as on DD's laptop and it drives me mad)

nanaej Sun 14-Apr-13 21:23:59

Gosh J08 seems I pissed you off.

Inspectors said this of our school when I was the head 'The leadership and management of this school are outstanding and this is why pupils
achieve so very well.' I am not trying to show off just point out you can be a total leftie and run an outstanding school and so the children did not need god's help..they had a load of fantastic (& mostly left wing) teachers that helped themwink

j08 Sun 14-Apr-13 21:34:26

They deleted that one and not the one with "fucking" in it! confused

j08 Sun 14-Apr-13 21:37:03

That is very good nanaej.

Can I just mention in passing that I have never actually voted Conservative in my life. Always been a Labour supporter. Doesn't stop me seeing when people are being cruel and unkind. And I think anyone who downloaded the song in this instance is just that.

MiceElf Sun 14-Apr-13 21:48:32

The one that was deleted was having a pop at me. I certainly didn't report it as by and large I think that comments should be left for people to make up their own minds.

Nanaej I was supporting your cause. I don't see what God has got to do with it. I thought the issue was censorship. To which I am absolutely opposed.

celebgran Sun 14-Apr-13 21:57:45

Nansaej if you can't see how distasteful this is and totally irrelevant to wether you agreed with the politics then thank goodness you retired.

Children need role models not yob culture.

j08 Sun 14-Apr-13 21:58:41

Just seen this "tweet". "Well that was an anticlimax. Kudos to the Newsbeat reporter who pulled off Britain's worst job with aplomb!"

I agree. It was well done.

nanaej Sun 14-Apr-13 21:59:14

J08 we were all very pleased with the report too.

My motivation was not to be cruel or unkind but to respond to a political situation and to create some redress to the eulogising of a politician that I totally disagreed with. Thatcher was a high profile public figure whose actions and decisions impacted on the lives of everyone in the UK. I think it was a fairly innocuous way to try to highlight how unpopular her politics were with a large section of society. I think her family are tough enough to cope with it!

MiceElf Sun 14-Apr-13 22:02:28

Celebgran, your comment was extremely offensive to Nanaej. Address the issue, not the person.

The issue is censorship. What gives you or anyone the right to decide what citizens should or should not listen to?

j08 Sun 14-Apr-13 22:03:03

Let's hope so. I remember losing my mum. Was in pieces.

j08 Sun 14-Apr-13 22:04:40

The issue is (or was when I started this thread) how offensive and cruel this whole thing has been. Nothing to do with anything else.

j08 Sun 14-Apr-13 22:05:29

If you want to discuss the rights and wrongs of censorship, start your own thread.

MiceElf Sun 14-Apr-13 22:06:48

You don't own a thread. Threads follow the discussion. That has been pointed out to you before. Many times.

j08 Sun 14-Apr-13 22:08:24

It's considered best by HQ if threads follow the original idea posted about. Or so a recent "green box" from HQ stated.

MiceElf Sun 14-Apr-13 22:08:54

And it is about censorship. Reread what you wrote. And take note of what Bags and others pointed out.

nanaej Sun 14-Apr-13 22:09:11

celeb I think you need to check out the term yob:A rowdy, aggressive, or violent young man.

I am not any of these things.

Also I am not fully retired I advise and support headteachers to help them make their schools become outstanding too.
