On the radio 4 PM programme yesterday with Eddie Mair, I felt privileged to be interviewed by him, I have always admired the standard of his interviewing across all sectors, be it politicians, captains of industry or the public. I did that damn Australian thing of going up at the end of a sentence!

Marelli Tue 18-Jun-13 19:26:39

Haven't heard it, phoenix! But I'm going to get it on i-Player now. How are you - missed your posts! smile

Nelliemoser Tue 18-Jun-13 19:26:56

Phoenix Yes! I did. I wondered if it mght be you when I heard your story. Well done! You were very brave to do that and I didn't hear that upward inflexion bit. Take care of yourself. We miss you on here, how is the job going?

Anne58 Tue 18-Jun-13 19:32:03

Thank you all for your responses.

To be honest, I'm not really enjoying the job, finding it quite stressful and I think my immediate manager (who started after me) is a complete knob head!

(not sure that is allowed on GN, but there, I've said it!)

Wish I had more time to get on here, but sadly that is not the case.

Will be here when I can,

Love to all.

Please post the link. How are the pussies?

Anne58 Tue 18-Jun-13 19:40:00

Pussies are fine, although Lily did an interesting thing the other day!

I will try to post the link, although you must realise that I am a techno numpty! (Pretty sure someone else will be able to do it far better)

The interview was on the PM prog yesterday, and there was a bit of a follow up today.

Hi phoenix

Ana Tue 18-Jun-13 20:16:11

Hello phoenix! smile
What was it about?

Gagagran Tue 18-Jun-13 20:22:07

Hey phoenix - good to hear from you.

So sorry the job's is not ideal. Keep looking for something more suited to your talents remembering that it's always easier to get a job from a job rather than from being unemployed (as I am sure you already know!) grin

NfkDumpling Tue 18-Jun-13 20:25:43

Hi phoenix nice to know you're ok. It doesn't seem to be on iplayer yet. I had the radio on but I probably wasn't listening!

janeainsworth Tue 18-Jun-13 20:36:58

Hello phoenix lovely to hear from you, I've been wondering how you are smile Agree with gaga about the job, hang on in there and I'm sure you will grasp the next opportunity that presents itself.
How far into the programme was the piece?
xx

annodomini Tue 18-Jun-13 21:28:00

Hi phoenix, I was getting concerned about you and am relieved to hear from you. Sorry to hear that the job isn't working out as well as you'd hoped. And, of course, here you are allowed to say anything you like about your line manager. hmm I will try to find you on i-player. I do admire Eddie Mair - especially since the hatchet job he did on Boris! smile

whenim64 Tue 18-Jun-13 21:33:55

There you are, phoenix! Nice to hear how you're doing. Hope you get time to pop back now and again. smile

glassortwo Tue 18-Jun-13 22:15:11

I have wondered how things were going with you Phoenix, its great to see you back.

Its a fact that someone employed is much more employable, so dont let that hold you back, and the job came when you needed it and hopefully it has put you in a better place more able to take something that is closer to what you are looking for.

Love the description of your Manager. grin

Come back when you get chance. sunshine

Marelli Tue 18-Jun-13 22:18:39

I have just listened to your recording, phoenix. I didn't hear the 'up' bit at the end of the sentences, either. I was so taken by what you were saying. I have the greatest admiration for you. flowers xx

glassortwo Tue 18-Jun-13 22:20:40

I am going to look for it and listen tomorrow when I can do it in peace.

Anne58 Tue 18-Jun-13 22:41:27

Greatnan Wed 19-Jun-13 04:57:19

Damn - I can't get it here in Egypt, but I will listen on Catch-up when I get home. Congratulations, Phoenix.

Gally Wed 19-Jun-13 07:40:17

Just listened to your piece on iPlayer - you came across so well, very confidant and very moving. Strangely, yesterday before I read your thread, I found a few short videos on my pc of John talking and playing with a couple of the gc's taken just a few months before he died. I found them very comforting, if emotional. I do hope you manage to record Jack's phone message and also acquire the holiday video. flowers
