A lovely day today!
When checking my bank account, I found my Cardiff pension had been payed in.
I had a cup of coffee at the tribunal. The Judge made it for me! I really enjoyed it as I was thirsty.

Hear hear Greatnan

Nonu Fri 30-Aug-13 16:47:35

BB , I think Sel is entitled to put her fourpenneth in if she she so desires .

sunshine lots of it here

bluebell Fri 30-Aug-13 16:51:45

When did I say she wasn't entitled? I was just marvelling at what a paragon of virtue she is and a role model to us all. How blessed we are to have someone setting such high standards that so many of us can never hope to emulate

Nonu Fri 30-Aug-13 16:53:54

Well it is nice to be blessed IMO !!

bluebell Fri 30-Aug-13 17:02:32

Well exactly Nonu - just what I said! I'm so glad you agree with me - its lovely to be in such accord isn't it? And the sun is shining here too. Doubly blessed

bluebell Fri 30-Aug-13 17:05:31

This is reminding me of the Noddy and Bigears joke

Movedalot Fri 30-Aug-13 18:07:16

There have been many elements which have poisoned Gransnet and insinuation is certainly one. I also think that comment like Bluebell's above are very unhelpful. I don't think Sel (or for that matter any of us) has said anything to imply perfection. Please give it a rest.

Nonu Fri 30-Aug-13 18:10:40

Well said , MOVE.

sunshine

bluebell Fri 30-Aug-13 18:36:00

Oohhhh Moved - insinuation? Could you give us an example of what you mean? Oh wait a minute......

Eloethan Fri 30-Aug-13 19:31:02

Well, I thought it was funny.

Frank very rarely responded other than to direct questions relating to his own posts - I don't think he followed the general cut and thrust of various threads. I often wondered if he really existed!

Nonu Fri 30-Aug-13 19:35:46

ELOE, how could that be ?

j08 Fri 30-Aug-13 19:45:56

Nelliemoser I referred to him as "everyone's favourite daft old fart".

Can you really not see that that was kindly, even fondly, meant?

And it was when I was enquiring about his absence.

I don't know why this thread was ever started.

As for knowing the OP has not a single whatever bone in her body - no? How do you know?

Greatnan Fri 30-Aug-13 19:52:34

I have followed her posts. The thread was started as a bit of fun. Remember that, jingle? You used to be quite ready for a bit of banter.

Riverwalk Fri 30-Aug-13 20:04:53

The young women who run Gransnet seem to be a reasonable bunch - indeed there are a number of members who regularly engage in banter with them regarding cakes and other indulgences.

Given that they are such a nice bunch does anyone really think that they would ban any member without just cause?

From what I can see, so few members are banned, so can it not be accepted that there must have been a good reason?

HunterF/Bentley must be laughing his socks off at all the sorrow.

Ceesnan Fri 30-Aug-13 20:12:38

Hang on a minute.. Who has said that Frank and Bentley are one and the same?

j08 Fri 30-Aug-13 20:16:08

Greatnan - not this kind.

Thread should be deleted.

j08 Fri 30-Aug-13 20:17:04

And if they were the same, where was the harm in it?

But we are not supposed to talk about that anymore.

Like I say, they should delete the thread.

gracesmum Fri 30-Aug-13 20:21:22

I think it is ridiculous to suggest this thread should be deleted when the only putative reason is the sniping and total sense of humour bypass which others have generated. Great little pastiche, Galen! And who would have thought that such a mountain could have been made out of this particular molehill. Some people cannot see a teacup without creating a storm to go with it.

Galen Fri 30-Aug-13 20:44:25

Jo8
Don't bother about getting thread deleted!
I'm leaving GN!

janeainsworth Fri 30-Aug-13 20:51:05

Galen you mustn't shock. There was nothing wrong with your OP - some people have chosen to overreact, that's all.

Nonu Fri 30-Aug-13 20:51:35

I thought you left before , and came back as Galen !!

smile

MiceElf Fri 30-Aug-13 20:54:05

Galen, they are sad troublemakers. But if you go I suspect that many will follow. Including MiceElf. And I hope those who have driven you away are proud of themselves.

NfkDumpling Fri 30-Aug-13 20:54:05

Nooooooo! sad

Greatnan Fri 30-Aug-13 20:55:16

Why the smile, Nonu? Galen leaving would be a great loss to Gransnet.

whenim64 Fri 30-Aug-13 20:57:01

Please don't Galen. It would be a crying shame if you were hounded off here because of the tendency of some to pick away at Gransnetters who don't join in with their jibes. You are very much wanted round here. An institution, just like lovely soop, who thankfully decided to stay. flowers
