I thought it would be a good idea to open a thread where those of us who are upset by this news can comfort each other. Better to share thoughts here and leave the IMPORTANT thread for on-going efforts to find her.

Quite good coverage on Calendar (ITV Yorkshire). Hope there's good news soon.

I thought it was a joke when I first saw the 'missing' thread. sad How awful. I have always been so in admiration of her independence.

Thought I would try a new tactic today from the 'avoiding the cracks in the pavement' school of psychology i.e. avoiding Gransnet all day, so that although I would be the last to hear the hoped for Good News, it had more chance of appearing if I wasn't looking.

Sadly, this has not worked. Thanks to all who are managing to stay (or at least appear to be) positive and hopeful.

Just thought of an old friend who has DGC in France. I shall ask her to forward information to her French family and HTH.

granny23 its doesnt work, I tried too.

I've done all those silly things....if the lights change to green before I count five, there'll be good news, don't look at those posts and there'll be good news, until I think I'm losing the plot!

On the positive side, I've been responding to supportive messages from complete strangers on Mumsnet, some so loving and kind, saying 'I can't bear the thought of my mum, my gran being lost somewhere, so I want to know if there's anything at all I can do to help.'

Night all. Good news tomorrow, I hope.

Lovely Mumsnet pm just now, and I have to share this comment.

'When they find Carol, tell her she's got to paint her car red!' grin
