Carol - Updates

Calm please about randomly posting on Facebook when we don't know how far along communcation between authorites and the family is progressing.

Please, if you have posted pictures of the car on public Facebook pages, delete them and allow the family to do this in their own time. Thank you.

I Have deleted the photos of the car from the FB page, as i deem it inappropriate, and possibly misleading or inaccurate as the car's number plate was blotted out and the photo does not fit the description of where the car was found! I also do not wish to encourage people of whom thrive off other peoples grief by falsifying events, creating hoax's etc...

The page was set up with the intentions of finding My Nan and/or the Car. Which i can confirm the car has been found. However it was not the family that divulged this information to the press, therefore we are taking great care in what information we would like to share. If there is any relevant information i can assure you you will be informed by the family as it stands everything you have been told is up to date. There has no more updates as of yet.

Thank you to everyone who has help so far, so many of you have done so much! The family really really appreciate it! Lets try to keep positive for this amazing woman!

Twitter also has images of the car which the family haven't wanted disseminating. Can you undo tweets and retweets where possible, please? Time to go at the family's pace now. We've done our bit with helping to locate her car.

I have deleted all that I can, but where I have retweeted someone else's tweet I seem to have no control. Sorry.

It's sad the information was leaked and people are now having to be so wary becaus, it really is highly likely the searchers/police themselves were responsible for it.

It's the journalist who ignored police requests not to publicise.

How awful, but you'd think they'd have known better than to trust them.

Is it not a rather pointless exercise as the photos of the car are on the newspaper website for anyone to see, to tweet to email or otherwise disseminate.

It also does appear to be the correct car, not a falsification, the car is French ,is French registered and the department number shown is the correct department number.

Thank you. It's the 'car found' pictures of Carol's actual abandoned car that are causing distress, not the 'missing' photos, which are of a similar car.

Have spoken to mark and have now deleted all from my timeline FB and hidden on my home page FB now will request that friends on FB do the same.

I'm reading the French press reports. Carol lived by Facebook etc and this is now the result. This doesn't mean that other non FB people can't or shouldn't read newsapapers and if they wish to, to comment upon them on GN.

The Dauphiné paper is reporting that the search has stopped for the night and will resume tomorrow morning.

As this thread is for updates only, I will wait to hear from Carol's family.

On instruction from Mark have now re-posted posters re Carol. He only meant the inappropriate photos of the car etc. So it is all back on FB.

Smashing Flower they never objected to the search posters but were distressed to see the abandoned car. You can imagine the unwanted images it conjures up for them. The search goes on.
