I've only recently found Gransnet, but I think you may already have saved my life. I've spent the last couple of days reading through many, many threads and discovered that there are some very wise and warm Gransnetters out there who really do seem to listen and care. And although I haven't really posted anything about myself, I'm beginning to feel that, if I need an ear - which I sometimes do - you're there with your wisdom and warmth. Knowing that has chased away some dark clouds. So thank you.

Good morning, thanks for the continued welcome wishes! You're already increasing my happiness quotient, bikergran by helping me feel a bit less lonely, which I sometimes do. Have a good day everyone.

Dragonfly1 Sun 29-Dec-13 12:54:23

Thanks soop.

That will be two parties to look forward to as we are off I think to Balmoral on Old Year's Night, Galen is organising it. I am a bit bothered though as the Queen is a fan of 2 bar electric heaters and I do like my central heating.

Still, I will be warmly dressed and my tiara should be back from the jewellers where it was being cleaned.

Welcome to Dragonfly1 and Grandma60. flowers

Gagagran Sun 29-Dec-13 15:05:35

Don't worry Charleygirl Her Maj is staying in Norfolk so we have the run of Balmoral and can call in at soop's either en route or on the way home. Or both. If sober. Which is doubtful. Hey ho.

Hi both of you, nice to meet you. Watch out GN is adictive !

It's a wonderful place though. I don't know how I would have coped with caring for my mother without all the fantastic support I had from this lot.

Hello newcomers! Enjoy. This is my first proper GN day since Boxing day. I have just had my family go home today after our late Christmas celebrations with my children. I usually cannot stay off this site for long. It is often funny and usually supportive if you are having an off day. A good place.

NfkDumpling Sun 29-Dec-13 20:26:58

Did you have an excellent belated Chrismas Nellie?

withany Sun 29-Dec-13 20:27:13

Hi dragonfly, I started using gransnet like you, after reading some of the comforting words, advice, and the GNs have lifted me when I've been low, comforted me when I have been so sad and tearful, and most of all you are not judged, and there is someone out there that will always listen. I am so grateful to them all, they are helping me get through a very difficult part of my life. So welcome dragonfly, you will find the support you need here.

Dragonfly1 Sun 29-Dec-13 20:40:13

Thank you nellie. I've had a few chuckles already. withany I've followed your thread and feel for you. You seem to have had a lot of support from GN - and I'm sure it must have warmed your heart. I do hope things are resolved for you soon.
