Good morning everyone.
We have a bright sunny morning so far - long may it last!

D0LLIE Wed 12-Feb-14 08:02:05

morning....im down south on the coast near worthing ...the weather is horrendous here there was a storm at 4am this morning now its torrential rain with gales!!!

NanKate Wed 12-Feb-14 08:07:13

Down here in the Thames Valley if I stand on grass when out walking it squelches with water - it's definitely another wellie day.

Brendawymms Wed 12-Feb-14 08:20:50

The weather in Worthing has yet to reach this bit of East Sussex. I have cancelled a trip out though as due 'green' rain and high winds at time of return. Back to Dentist today. Antibiotics not worked.

lefthanded Wed 12-Feb-14 08:22:13

Dry at the moment - but I don't think it will last here in South Wales. I'm on the school-run this morning (and for the next few weeks) as my son has had his other carpal-tunnel operation done and he won't be driving for a while.

Nelliemoser Wed 12-Feb-14 08:27:00

Good morning! its dry in Cheshire but grey. It is supposed to get stormy here later on.

PRINTMISS Wed 12-Feb-14 08:35:23

Good morning everyone, at the moment it is dry, and it was sunny! It is my knit and natter morning this morning, but with all the water which is lying around on the roads, I have decided that since I do not need to go out I will not add to the traffic on the roads which are in a terrible state at the moment. Thoughts are still with those whose homes are flooded.

Bellasnana Wed 12-Feb-14 08:49:05

Good morning from Malta. Another lovely day here so am off out to enjoy it. Sorry for all those having foul weather, especially those dealing with flooded homes and businesses.

vegasmags Wed 12-Feb-14 08:55:02

Overcast here in Manc, but braced for the storm later on. Heard on the news this morning that water in the flooded areas may not subside until May. What a dreadful prospect for the all the poor souls with ruined homes or devastated businesses.

kittylester Wed 12-Feb-14 09:12:17

Morning all!!

Well, you will be surprised to hear that it is grey and dull again here in N. Leicestershire but I really shouldn't complain. I really feel for those people still suffering floods.

Not the same at all, but my brother has a cottage in Cornwall which got flooded both before Christmas and after. A friend who lives in the village baled it out for him last week and put the wood-burner on to dry it out. A daft idea as it turns out but done with the best of intentions. The kitchen caught fire and a 300 year old lintel, the main support at the back, was largely burnt away. sad

Ariadne Wed 12-Feb-14 09:14:30

Needless to say, it is pouring with rain here in North Devon, and the wind is getting up too.

Dragonfly1 Wed 12-Feb-14 09:18:13

That's awful, Kitty, what a blow for your brother. Just started raining here, very cold.

Sewsilver Wed 12-Feb-14 09:22:46

Good morning. Beautiful snow on the hills and none on the roads or paths. Just how I like it! Snow is for looking at not for walking in.
Kitty how dreadful for your brother

Lona Wed 12-Feb-14 09:30:55

Dull, damp and depressing here in Cheshire.

I should be out now but I was too weary to drag my bones out of bed in time.
However I'm having a quick lunch out with my friend before we go to her surgeon to discuss her possible double mastectomy! sad

Looking forward to babysitting tonight though sunshine

whenim64 Wed 12-Feb-14 09:32:05

Sorry to hear your news about your brother, kitty. I hope he can get things repaired and back to normality soon.

Sewsilver I could see the snowy hilltops where you are from the M60 near the Trafford Centre yesterday. It looked magnificent. We had lashings of hailstones at this end. Not quite the same! hmm

Stansgran Wed 12-Feb-14 10:09:23

Snowed last night but slushy this morning.

harrigran Wed 12-Feb-14 10:20:38

Good morning, we had three snow showers between 5.30 and 6 am. starting to melt now.

Ariadne Wed 12-Feb-14 12:04:17

Oh my goodness, the gales have arrived!

Ariadne Wed 12-Feb-14 12:06:31

And the new bridge is shut! (Main way out of Bideford) AND the galles are driving the rain horizontally. I am going nowhere today.

grannyactivist Wed 12-Feb-14 12:08:49

Yes, gales here in East Devon too - it's quite a spectacle. I was going to take my mother in law to the hospital this afternoon, but father in law has forbidden me. He has a camper van that he'll take her in as if there are problems (he mentioned floods, landslides, fallen trees) he says he can always sit tight and make a cup of tea. grin

Aka Wed 12-Feb-14 12:09:39

Gales arrived here too, rain coming down almost horizontally.

rosesarered Wed 12-Feb-14 12:27:33

Ariadne I suppose it's the height of the new bridge? Use the old bridge!I bet it's windy there enough to blow you off the quayside!Poor ducks and seagulls.
Rain and windy here in Thames Valley as well, and going to get worse as the day goes on.Am staying in, warm and dry.

12Michael Wed 12-Feb-14 12:49:40

Its throwing down here in Brackley strong south westerly wind whilst out earlier.
Mick

I think my house is going to be blown down. It's very frightening here.
