Over emphasising

I won't be "jumping" into the shower any time soon!

I said on a thread one here once how 'wrong' to me the phrase 'jump in the shower' was and got all sorts of indignant replies!

My DH would struggle to converse without the addition of'
'over emphasis' or exaggeration

Like "grabbing a coffee" -could get you arrested for shoplifting?
However I am rather fond of "pinging" an email .......

Some also say 'grab a shower' - what???

I jump in the shower too ..and jump in to bed ..and out again ..in and out of the car ..you guessed with a jump..but I run up the shops and grab some shopping and pop up the road...take the dog for a run....therefore why am I piling on all the weight.despite all the running jumping popping that I do daily[

I'm very suprised you're not in hospital with multiple fractures, downtoearth!

I might take a 'run out in the car' tomorrow that's as energetic as I get.

'Bobbing' and 'nipping' are two more things some people always seem to be doing...

Yes, a pleasant light thread for a change we need more levity on here.I like the phrase 'popping out for a bit' although I never jump in the shower or grab one.
I potter ,( or totter?) to the shops rather than run, although DH uses buzzing for some reason as in ' I'm buzzzing off to get petrol now' .

Well Grace and I "popped" to the village shop for today's paper, but anybody watching might have said it was more of an amble.

I dived out of the door this morning as I was running late. I'm not lying comatose on the front lawn btw.

I watched an old episode of Last of the Summer Wine last night. It was Compo's funeral. I cried buckets.
