Soop congratulations on your new great grandson Teddy. N&G love the pictures, what a lovely Christmas present. Ann big hugs and
.
We have had a lot of snow today, looks very pretty but OH so cold. Still coughing and vertigo is very bad again, keep thinking it has gone and then it appears yet again.
Soop welcome to the world to Teddy. Congratulations to you and McSporran on your seconf great grandparenthood. Bet you can’t wait to see him!
Many Congratulations Soop
Ann I am so sorry to hear you are having such a hard time , OH has been harking on all day about going home and I can't convince him we are home , so I know how you feel , but I haven't got the pain you have ! xxx
I had just dropped in and sawBellasnana photo it’s lovely it bought back such wonderful, happy memories of taking my own granddaughter to Disney. We tried four times and eventually were able to see her favourite princess. Belle was so kind to my granddaughter it was worth all the effort. I’ll never forget the joy on her little face. It remains one of my precious memories. I’m off now to wrap myself in the memory. Lovely photo too N&G lucky you.
Hello, dear Agus. You are right, it is a while since we crossed paths. How are you? I have been finding life a bit of a struggle which is why I haven’t been on GN as often as I used to be.
Yes, Bella is growing. She’s 7 now. I worry about her so much. My DD2 ( her mum) seems so cross all the time, and I feel Bella is a lonely little girl. Daren’t speak up though. It makes matters worse.
Just catching up! soop, congratulations on the new GGS. Your next tribal gathering is going to be a joyful and probably riotous occasion with four generations. I must confess, I'm getting a little envious!
ann - I do understand how awful things are for you at the moment. The pressure on you is inconceivable. Does your GP know that H has been discharged from hospital?
xx
It never rains but it pours!
Had a very “funny turn” this afternoon, really bad chest pain going through to my middle back, breathlessness, cold, shivery etc.
Rang my friend and neighbour because I was afraid I might be having a heart attack.
She rang Dr who said either ambulance or A&E so she took me over.
It seems I have Gastritis and the waves of pain were receding by the time I saw a Dr although I still felt v wobbly!
Over there until 9 but home and thawing out now.
Need to sort out my diet, take Omeprazole, eat little but often (Brown and green stuff,) cut out alcohol, no coffee, no rushing my eating, no more fish and chips either
Not to put too fine a point on it I have given myself a bit of a fright.
Oh how frightening Maw. Thank goodness you have a good friend close by, and so glad it wasn’t a heart attack. The dietary changes should help in the long term and the Omeprazole will get you over this flare up. Phew! A shock for you, but you’re back home now. Sad about the ? but if needs must....
I hope your feeling a little better maw nice cup of tea and listen to somthing soothing on the radio to try and sleep.
Maw, what a scare, but I`m so glad you`re alright.
Soop, many congratulations yet again, hopefully there`ll soon be a photo of Edward John, good weight for a first baby.
Ann, so sorry things aren`t going too well, you need more help.
Wonderful photos of happy grans and grandchildren. I only have one photo of all my grandchildren together, and that was taken over 6 and a half years ago, the one and only time they were all in the same place at the same time. Here it is.
Goodness maw I can understand why it was a fright. Relieved you are reasonably ok, wishing you luck with the change of eating habits, you are stronger willed than I therefore will have no problem
We have the same problem callgirl, can rarely get them in the same place and when they are they are usually too giddy to sit still for a photo. You must be proud of them
Pleased to report 50% of the filing accomplished, the rest tomorrow, honest. Good night everyone.
Morning all , from snowed in of Norfolk !!
Isn't it amazing how silent the world becomes when there is no traffic? We only get the odd car past our house but our 8 inches have put paid to that!!
I am sending Grampy out to check on our neighbour later , the only person we have properly met , but she lives alone so might need some help. Sam refuses to set foot outside as the snow comes half way up him so he has his legs firmly crossed !!
Love the Disney pictures - a most magical place in my opinion.
Great picture Callgirl , we are very lucky and often see ours in one place but I am always the person behind the camera so it was a real treat for me.
Wow Maw that was a nasty shock. Its def time for you to take better care of yourself.
Corner filing is illegal on a snow day...best you sit back down with coffee and a biscuit until the urge passes !! Wouldn't want you to get arrested !!
Stay safe everyone - its a day for reading, binge watching tv and eating comfort food :-) ( oh wait....that's every day here !!!)
xx
Poor Norfolk - DS is 4 hours into his journey to work so far. Don’t think he will be coming home today!
That’s a lovely photo callgirl your grandchildren look well spread out in age. Mine were too,it’s lovely that way. It meant we had a youngster in the family for 20+ plus years. I doubt there’ll be anymore baby’s in our family in the near future. Our youngest is just 6 so we’re making the most of her. Hope you’ve recovered from your fright maw and fingers crossed for your son journey home JaneD We had an email from a worried son this morning(makes a change it’s normally us that do the worrying) saying our area had been on the evening news last evening saying we had had one of the worst snowfalls and he was wondering if we were ok. Of course we are and reassured him we had plenty of supplies including the wine and brandy. It almost feels like Christmas. I hope the rest of you are warm and well. Take care.
Big boring brag moment coming now. Anyone who couldn't care less, look away now!
Many thanks for all your kind comments. I'm grinning from ear to ear.
Lovely happy family photo N&G Perfect for framing.
Agus Alas! I fear that our darling Crafting has had her head turned big-time. Nevertheless, should she still enjoy our tender-hearted company, she's more than welcome to join us for a
and [cupcake.
Fabulous photos soop and everyone else!
According to DD3, this is Persie in her outfit for world book day! She used to be so girly!!
Maw that must have been a really scary experience for you. What a good job your neighbour was around and a good 'un. I hope you are feeling better now and taking it easy!
corner, I hope you haven't been arrested!!
Ann, I hope you are having a better day but if not, you must get more help. It's trite but true, you need to look after yourself first before you can look after DH or you will both end up in hospital.
We are still in the grips of the snow, but not as badly as some of you, I set off early for the school run in Derby to find there is barely any and yesterday went to the other side of Leicester well prepared so it isn't widespread. My bothers, in the middle of Leicester and near Market. Harborough, have had little.
Beautiful children and photos to keep soop.
I'm building a headache. We have icy conditions, buses cancelled because of black ice and a weather warning for nasty snow tomorrow with blizzard conditions. I have a long awaited hospital appointment an hour's car travel away early morning. Public transport wouldn't get us there. My instinct is to phone and cancel today so they could offer it to someone who lives close by, Mr C won't hear of it, says we will 'be fine'.
I sort of envy n&g being snowed in, that way all decisions are made. Can I please just sit quietely by the fire for a bit and hope it all goes away?
corner Yes please. Do sit quietly in the warm and if you need to cancel your hospital appointment it will wait until a better time.
Maw So sorry to hear that you had a very nasty scare. Take it easy and stay warm.
kitty Persie looks magical. What a very clever outfit. Well done to whoever created it.
not yet kitty but watch this space
Ah, Corner, you’ve got one of those “It’ll be fine” DHs who thinks he’s Scott of the Antarctic too (and look what happened to him!). I’m with you on this one. We are well and truly snowed in today and he is still telling me we will be okay to do the school run tommorrow when nothing is moving off our road, and the road surrounding DD’s house are treacherous apparently. We walked down to Morrison’s earlier to get some milk and despite taking care I managed to go down once and then almost again. Nothing damaged except my dignity fortunately. The only good thing about snow is that you go out with filthy muddy boots (that you couldn’t be bothered to clean last time you had them on!) and come back with them clean as a whistle!
Soop bring on the photos - the more the merrier! Teddy is a smasher, and handsome Torben is growing fast. Can’t keep up with mine - he’s almost bigger than me now.
Well, kitty you can have girlie aliens can’t you? The last time GS did World Book Day, he wanted to be Fantastic Mr Fox but still had to be coaxed to wear the mask and tail that DD made. There would be no chance now.
I have been wondering about Ann today. Hope she is coping and still has her son helping as well as the carer. It doesn’t sound a lot.
I will look in later.
I've just recalled working in the NHS and walking through the snow to work to find no patients so I have sort of given in and will wait until the morning. In the meantime I'm drowning out Mr C's broken record approach greyd by playing soothing music. Trouble is we have a son staying tonight who is worse than his Dad for 'it will be fine', like father and all that. Mr C was born at the top of a Welsh montain and so was very used to snowy roads, he forgets though that 50 years have passed. I shall set it aside until the alarm wakes us at 6am tomorrow when I would like to see large quantities of snow.
Hope someone wore that very handsome fox mask greyd, the alien is suitably alien like kitty, don't know what ours will be tomorrow, I could hope for well behaved but as that isn't likely perhaps something ladylike - no that isn't likely either. I will wait to be surprised.
I've also wondered about ann, I'm sure her son's presence will be helping but settling down difficulties won't be helped by nasty weather. I so hope there will be adequate support for her going forward.
Would you believe the filing is nearly done as are the accounts. In about an hour, if I get back to it now, I will feel very virtuous indeed, until the next post brings yet more paper.
Stay warm and safe everyone.
