As long as we're together...
Whoops we go again.

What lovely happy family photos N&G. A memory to frame.

Already itching to drive at 4yrs old! Georgous indeed.

Bellasnana Tue 27-Feb-18 13:20:11

Yes, what lovely photos. How lucky to have more than one DG. I have always hoped our DGD would have been joined by a sibling, but she is 7 now and still no sign of either a sibling or a cousin. I’m very happy to have her though.

Wondering how annsixty and her DH are managing. All good wishes from me as well.

I will pass on the hot chocolate, thanks, as it is 86 deg F here
in Florida. Some might find it too hot and humid, but it is very similar to summer in Malta, so I’m enjoying it.

Had a lovely weekend at Disney for DGD’s birthday. It was a joy to see her so happy. Lots of nice memories to take away with me, though I dread leaving her.

Have a lovely day, Kitcheners, and keep cosy.brew

annsixty Tue 27-Feb-18 14:01:19

We are not doing very well at all sorry to say.
H is just so demanding and my patience is being sorely tested. My hip and both knees are so painful , my S has been, the carer has been and my S is coming back later.
He has been to the loo on average 4 times an hour since 6: 15am mostly with nothing achieved.
No sympathy please , just understanding.

Greyduster Tue 27-Feb-18 14:12:32

Ann I don’t know what to say except that I wish there was something we could do to help. I’m glad that your son is giving you support and I hope that it helps. It doesn’t sound as if you have much opportunity to rest. Please keep letting us know how you are doing. ??

soop Tue 27-Feb-18 14:24:59

Oh, the photos are all winners. OurKid1 your bonnie grandson looks so proud to be at the wheel. Such lovely children and smiles aplenty.

I cannot wait a moment longer...I have just had a phone call from Kirsty. Her firstborn son was born this morning. Edward (to be known as Teddy) John 8lbs 6oz We're over the moon. Our second great-grandchild within not quite two months.

I shall now shut up and read through all your messages. wink

soop Tue 27-Feb-18 14:31:34

Ann You have all the understanding us lot can muster. I feared that something like this might well happen. If I could hug you...I most certainly would.

Bellasnanna A photo brimming over with joy. Lovely.

I shall tell you an amusing true story a little later. I'm a bit behind at the mo' xx

soop Tue 27-Feb-18 14:37:11

Chewbacca That poor soul...all tethered and stuffed into the freezer. Have pity on him. The chill could so easily numb him in the sensitive regions.

As for Crafting, I've booked her into a rehab clinic. One to one counselling is the only way forward after that evening of debauchery with that lot in the Argy Caff. grin

soop Tue 27-Feb-18 14:43:08

Agus May I join you in savouring some virtual guilt-free treats. Thanks to my convent upbringing, I'm rarely guilt-free. Makes a nice change to indulge and think...I deserved that!

soop Tue 27-Feb-18 14:48:07

Greyduster and OurKid You shall have a tartan blanket each. Pure new Scottish wool. Only the best is good enough! Get well soon.

corner Your final few words made me chuckle.

cornergran Tue 27-Feb-18 14:59:48

Many congratulations soop and macs, excellent news.

I’ve not words ann other than to say I feel your exhaustion and wish I could help in a practical way. Could there be extra carer visits? Also would a carer assessment of your needs be appropriate now your husband is home? I’m probably clutching at straws. Sending love.

Just a few flakes of snow here, we’ve lost the sunshine and no, the filing isn’t done grin. I’m sure there’s a health and safety regulation about filing in low external temperatures

Stay warm if you can.

Bellasnana Tue 27-Feb-18 15:10:02

soop, delighted to hear your wonderful news. Many congratulations to all. Great-grandmother of two! How lucky you are ?

annsixty, I only nursed my DH for a short time, but can certainly feel for you under these difficult circumstances.

soop Tue 27-Feb-18 15:16:35

This mornings visit to the care home made me smile. Conversation with M, who is in her mid nineties, went like this - M says, my cousin from Canada is here. He's very nice. I'll introduce you to him. In walks a new carer, tall and handsome, he wanders over and M says...this is my cousin. He played along and said, pleased to meet you. I've heard a lot about you. He added that he was a lumberjack when in Canada. He winked. A new lady is seated close by. M says that she doesn't know who she is. I ask the lady her name. She says - Betty. I turn to M and say - this is Betty. M says, oh, my sister has come to join me. How lovely! In fact M's sister was indeed a Betty, but she died many years ago. Betty says - I used to own a hotel. M says - I fly helicopters between twelve and one. Betty is impressed. In walks M's real sister. She sits beside Betty. I tell Betty that this is M's sister. M then adds...we're all cousins. A whole lot of nodding and smiling and general chit chat later I say farewell until the next time. grin

Greyduster Tue 27-Feb-18 15:37:09

Congratulations, Soop and MacS and proud parents! (Same weight as my first born too). Welcome Edward John!
We have had some very heavy snow showers today, but nothing is sticking. DH volunteered to go to the supermarket for something I had forgotten that I needed for our evening meal. He gave me that “I’m just going outside - I may be a little while” look of heroic resignation and off he went on foot as it is only a ten minute walk. The heavens opened almost as soon as he stepped out of the door. Whiteout. By the time he came back the sun was shining, snow gone. Wierd weather. Corner I am sure there is just that very Regulation somewhere, have no fear! If there isn’t we’ll start a petition to have one put on the statue books!

Before I head off to your rehab soop many congratulations of the birth of your second great grandchild. I love the thought of him being called Teddy ?

Crafting Tue 27-Feb-18 15:59:42

Not sure that rehab will work soop. That poteen is heady stuff. The effects are wearing off but I keep being drawn back to the Argy by some invisible force. ?

Agus Tue 27-Feb-18 16:33:17

Ann A shed load of understanding for you flowers

MissAdventure Tue 27-Feb-18 16:40:14

Afternoon to all.
Is there a baby sporran? Another, aside from the latest one? I can't keep up, sorry. If there is, then congratulations, and if there isn't, well congratulations anyway, just for the sake of it. smile
I'm glad your friend got to see all of her relatives at the home, soop that tale did make me laugh!
NandG your grandchildren are very aesthetically sized for photos: just perfect, like a little ladder, all neatly going up in size.
Ann it all sounds a trial, especially if you're in pain. Hopefully 'something' will happen on one of these toilet trips. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.
Hello to everyone else - Sorry, my mind goes a bit blank but hope you're all well.
Lots of lovely photos of your grandchildren. Its nice to see your families, so I can picture them when reading about your days with them.
I've been out twice today (in a blizzard, once, though not intentionally!) Home now, and have my eldest grandson here to have dinner with us. Chicken curry, done in the slow cooker.

MissAdventure Tue 27-Feb-18 16:41:34

Well, that was long. Sorry! blush

Charleygirl Tue 27-Feb-18 16:54:14

There is a layer of snow on the ground and I would think because of the cold that it is icy also. I have no intention of finding out. I just wish that Tara would return home. Only three more days of this extreme weather if I can believe the BBC.

Ann my heart goes out to you- nobody gave a thought of your age and the fact that you need another knee replacement. Free the bed and to hell with the consequences.

I loved the photos of all of the children- all appear to be very happy. Sam can always have a bed here- he would be so well cared for- Tara would not be too impressed.

soop Tue 27-Feb-18 17:00:54

MissAdventure Granddaughter Lauren is 26 this year. She gave birth to her first child - a daughter named Mila Johanna (pronounced Meela Yohannah) husband is Dutch on January 7th. Kirsty is her elder sister by eighteen months. Her son born today. Then we have granddaughter Hannah, she's unmarried and 29 and her brother, William, who will be 27 in August and they also have a younger brother, Ethan who will be 19 this year. Kirsty and Lauren also have a younger brother, Louie who will also be 19 next birthday. My youngest son has a son and Torben will be 8 in April. It's a whole lot of fun when we have our big family gathering. We get to meet the new babes in April. grin

soop Tue 27-Feb-18 17:03:46

Charleyg We experienced the briefest of snow flurries on our way home from Campbeltown. Not a single flake came to rest. Ironing duties for me tomorrow. I shall pop into the kitchen to catch up with my Granspals as soon as I return home.

Please take care and stay warm. smile moon

JaneD3 Tue 27-Feb-18 17:05:31

Congratulations to Soop and MacSoop. Best wishes to you Ann.
Getting over the lurgy except for this blessed cough! In earlier times, green grot equalled antibiotics and a speedy recovery but no longer - everything is a virus now.

GillT57 Tue 27-Feb-18 17:24:26

Sympathies Ann, hopefully your Dh will get sorted and settled and you will both get into some sort of routine. Get more help, use private companies, just keep SS out of it and sort it to suit yourselves. We need you to be fit and able to come and eat cake and gossip around the fire, there are plenty of folk (you know who you are) who are just asking to be talked about in hushed, aghast tones. And there are new babies, we need to 'wet their heads' wine

NanaandGrampy Tue 27-Feb-18 17:30:12

Evening all ,

Ourkid we have a car mad little boy too. How proud does your little grandson look !!

Thank you all for your kind words especially whoever said I looked young !! I shall dine off that for a while !! Of course I was a child bride ;-)

Convenient isn't it Miss Adventure , although I fear young Cooper will throw a spanner in the works as at nearly 2 1/2 years younger than Jackson he is catching up faster than Jackson likes !!

Ann , understanding in the bucket load from here. I do not know how you cope , and you pop up here and support everyone and you do so with good humour. Id be on my knees ( well maybe not as they aren't the best !) but you know what I mean. I do hope some more physical support for you is forthcoming.

Congratulations soop on the safe arrival of young Teddy !!! Will there be pictures ????

We have had the strangest weather today - white out blizzards...then a blue sky that would not have shamed a June day. Then sleet and now as the sun sets , the softest of snow falling from only a lightly clouded sky !! What is going on?

I'm going to beg your indulgence and just leave you with one more of my pictures...but I promise no more of these !! LOL Who knew being a Nana made you so proud eh?

Agus Tue 27-Feb-18 18:10:24

Soop I will leave you a pot of hot chocolate to warm up for a couple of bedtime drinks for you and MacS. Drop any guilt now and fill your boots with many treats simply because, you’re worth itgrin
Many congratulations on the arrival of your second great grandchild and a loving welcome to Teddy

Your post of the care home reminds me of my early training days when I would go along with the belief that I was in fact someone’s daughter/granddaughter/cousin etc.

Hello Bella we haven’t bumped into each other in a while but I have thought of you kindly often. Cant believe how grown up Bella is now, what a beauty. Chilled chocolate milkshake instead of hot chocolate may go down better in those temperatures grin

For goodness sake Crafting, stay away from the Argy. No good will come of it grin
