We have a fair bit of snow so I can’t see us going anywhere tomorrow . Hope Ann had a good day .

I decided to play safe and left the heating on very low overnight. I would prefer to pay an extra ££ or so rather than have the hassle of frozen pipes and unable to find a plumber able to come this side of Easter.

There is no snow here yet - I will be going nowhere, having stocked up for the week for safety.

Snow has just started falling here and looking at the sky, there is a lot more to come.

Coffee, hot chocolate, warmed croissants and a pot of porridge all ready for those who want to snuggle up in the kitchen. Enjoy

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I shall be around later if that's ok. Got to go out for some heavy duty medication for this flippin' cough and sore throat which has been lingering since I had the flu a few weeks ago. When I go past on my way to the chemist, I'll drop off one of my legendary Victoria sandwich cakes (well, I think they are - others may disagree). I'll come back in for a chat when I've got my drugs medicine. Can someone reserve that recliner and tartan blanket for me please?

On the topic of Care - both my parents had dementia which was awful for everyone involved, but it does mean that we have a lot of experience of Care - SS and private - the latter being much more user-friendly. Apparently SS ones don't get paid for the time travelled between users - ridiculous! We also know a lot about Nursing Homes, the vagaries of Social Services and don't even mention CFC. Oooh, the arguments we've had!!!! We won though!! Seriously, it's awful the way things are. I feel very sorry for anyone trying to navigate it all now. We were 'lucky' I suppose in that we had a great social worker and Mental Health Nurse to help, but still ... good luck to anyone going through it.

Sounds like a plan Charlie we have a fair old amount of snow here - Sam is most puzzled and has taken to sitting on the door mat when the door is opened for him as if to say ' no thanks !!'

Agus you had me at hot chocolate !! Will there be cream too?

We wont be going anywhere today , but I do have my rescheduled photo course on Thursday so I really hope I don't have to cancel again !!

Other than that its a stay home, stay warm, binge watch box sets kind of day !!

There will be homemade stew and dumplings later for any who care to partake.

Hello, the kitchen. I am another who will be hunkering down with the lurgy today as my ‘just as you thought it had gone away....’ germs have come back to kick me in the butt! I haven’t even got the strength to fight you off the recliner, OurKid but I might snatch a corner of the blanket! But if there is any of that stew going begging, N&G......! I don’t blame Sam for not wanting to go any further than the bloomin’ door, either! My commiserations to anyone else who is poorly today. To date we have had none of the apocalyptic weather predicted for our region. In fact, the sun is shining at the moment. It will probably be saving itself for Thursday when our next school run is due. Hey ho. I will look in later.

Both DGDs insist on marsh mallows and swirly cream on top when I make hot chocolate nana so I have left you a supply of both, go for it

N&G What a gorgeous family you have! Seeing as you have posted a pic of them, I'm going to post a pic of my gorgeous grandson (I only have the one GC, but that's fine.) He is 4 and was helping Mr Kid when he was helping DS and DIL and himself move house.

I was just feeling better then the next day felt worse. Mr Morethan is the same so it must be the pattern of what ever this virus is. We’re feeling really sorry for ourselves. It’s even too much trouble catch up with all your coming and goings. When will we feel better? At least the weather is so bad here we couldn’t go out if we wanted to. Hope ann is holding up ok. Wrap up warm all, I’m looking forward to seeing your photos from those of you living in beautiful snow covered areas. Mines not beautiful but it is very snowy brrrrr

Oh dear morethan and greyd, time those boomerang bugs found new homes. Wrap up well and stay by the fire. My lower level version comes and goes, more irritating than debilitating now she says with crossed fingers.

Blue skies here if flipping cold, Mr C was at the hearing clinic first thing. The blue skies tempted us to a walk afterwards, still trying to get warm. May feel the need for hot chocolate, croissant and cake also gratefully received.

Been thinking about ann, hoping her husband has settled back home and she is well supported.

The push flush spring thingy on the top of our toilet sprung off and half of the top vanished - no, not me. Called at the bathroom supplier hoping they could source a replacement. Not only did they have one in a cupboard there was no charge. Made my day.

I should be clearing the filing, I should, I should, I should. Will I? Doubt it .
