The first time I heard Nougat pronounced Noogar was by a nice but very posh teacher at school. Impressed, I was!

Regarding Uranus...I avoided mentioning the planet as I never liked ‘your anus’! However when I became interested in/ studied astrology I decided to pronounce it ’yurannus’, which works for me?

It would seem that several countries have their own Nougat recipes and their own pronunciations.

Panis Nucatus ( L) Nut bread = Nougat.
