Good morning, the kitchen. Still no word from Panache. Worrying.
Gq lovely photos as usual - I especially like the cool woodland path, but as you can imagine I am also a sucker for a gritstone boulder, wherever it may be!
Last time I looked in on the good morning thread, Ann you were still in bed with a nice cup of tea! (As was I!). I hope this next two weeks will see similar stories of rest and recuperation.
Soop your grandson and his young lady make a very handsome couple!
Izabella we are giving Chatsworth Country Fair a miss this year, but I know you will have a great time there, especially with the weather being so good. It’s a great day out. There are always far too many things to part me from my money, though - especially on Fisherman’s Walk!
DD and I had an afternoon at the Botanical Gardens yesterday for the annual Art in the Gardens show. Some wonderful stuff on display from some very talented artists and makers. Quite blew me away. GS came with us. He was interested to start with but when he found it all a bit tedious (“why are there so many pictures?” “Because it’s an art show - the clue is in the name!”), which we suspected he would, he was quite happy to sit under a tree in the shade with his phone and let us off the leash for a bit. I got a bit jittery about it, but DD said “Mother, he’s eleven, and as long as he has his phone I know where he is at all times.” I still didn’t like it! I didn’t buy much, but did treat myself to a new paintbrush (jury’s out on whether it will get any use), and had a nice chat with one of our local watercolour artists about one of his paintings which I had seen in progress at another art show we attended where he was demonstrating. It was lovely to see it finished.
Well I have waffled for long enough. I have to get moving. We are watching GS play football this morning against a team in the next village to us here, so not far to travel today! We could walk - but we won’t
! I will look in later.
