Well, I am actually registered with YouGov and I get polls and surveys to fill in for them. If you read much of the site you will see that there is a sponsorship which leads to a liberal socialist bias.

Even the surveys are slanted. YouGov work for who will pay them. It seems these days to be socialist think tanks judging by what I get asked.

As for Wiki? I don't know.

abbey who are these "sponsors"? As far as I can see YouGov is a company owned by shareholders that pays dividends to its shareholders. It is an international organisation that works in many countries and has aquired other market research companies. Financial report does not mention sponsorship

YouGov works for those who pay for the surveys to be done. He who pays the piper calls the tune on them. Basic rule of such things. They tell you this when you sign up for the role of filling them in and before each survey you are invited to take part in.

Leavers look forwards to a new world and to the future. remainers tend to want to stay in the past - that which has been somehow assuring ( even if not comfortable) for them in the last forty years.

Ah so having made accusations about political bias you are now saying the results are wrong because the company was paid? It's not in the company's interest to dabble with the results it would mean they would be less valued and have less business.
Leavers live in a lost world where Britain was a world leader in many fields, remainers know that the EU gave the UK more opportunities and wider horizons.

You see this is the problem with a remainers as it generaly appears. Its clear here. I say , as a person who voted leave that leavers ( like me) see the future as out in the world. We are not stuck in the past. Its remainers who are afraid of a future which doesn't include what consider a comfort blanket ( you say it yourselves, you think that the EU has brought unity)

The EU has never brought peace or unity. Its clearly at odds with its own members - Italy, Greece, several E. European countries to name a few.

Its NATO that has kept peace since WW2.

The future is beyond the EU. The EU is economically unstable and probably in the long term unviable. Personally I don't want to see us go down with it.

The world economy is bigger than the EU. Being out there in that is the future.

If I do look to the past for my experience and to learn from it, I know that in fact the EU has taken far more jobs and wealth from this country than it has given. I have personally worked for three firms who all took the EU "schilling" and relocated to countries such as Poland - on grants from the EU. The EU has spent 45 years asset stripping the UK for its own ends. That what I have experienced and lived through.

I want a brighter future and that will not be gained shackled to an outmoded model of economy, political beurocracy and worst, a social engineering experiment that has so clearly gone wrong.

Now you may not agree but that is the way I as a Leaver see it and have experienced it. Don't try to tell me what I think. Thanks.

abbey if you consider pointing out serious anomalies in someone's posts as being anxious for a 'fight' I make no apologies. You really cannot make up things on GN to suit your political bias and expect to get away with it. If you have proof of your allegations please post it.
I'm sorry about your job losses but I fail to see how leaving the EU will solve such problems, indeed it may worsen them as firms wanting access to the EU market will also relocate now.
The EU hasn't asset stripped the UK it has ploughed money into buildings, developments, heritage and the arts. It has provided opportunities for young people and funded them. It has protected our human rights, our environment and our food standards.
As we leave those will all be under threat. Of course there will be those who will make money from the ensuing recession and the suffering of the poorest.

Surely there needs to be a much stronger message put across about the tremendous benefits that we have enjoyed as EU members.

Our economy has been stronger because we are part of the world's largest and most successful trading block.

EU regulations, all approved by our successive governments which have improved workers rights and protected our environment.

The avoidance of conflict between EU member countries in our lifetimes and the GFA, ensuring the end of the "troubles" in NI.

The freedom for British citizens to travel, work and study in any EU country and the great contributions made by EU citizens living in the UK.

Great collaborative projects in science and technology.

Investment in infrastructure and development in regions of the UK which have been sadly neglected by our own governments.

Close co-operation in security and crime fighting.

A barrier to the Putin/Trump forces undermining our society and becoming more influential.

-and so many more good things which might never have happened without our EU membership .

It seems to me the more we delve into the what ifs of both sides of this situation, the less we know, so of course there should be another referendum taken on known facts, not guesses, supposition, lies, predictions etc etc.
It’s like jumping off a cliff, hoping that the tide is in!

If we have the opportunity to express our views on whether to accept TM's deal, no-deal or to Remain in the EU, I hope we can all just have the sense to use our brains this time and not believe the lies.

I can quite understand why she’d like us all to be fed up of it all after these botched negotiations!
