I think we have an infiltration of ‘jokers’ on the threads at the moment Well of course it may be the same person with a variety of names but I have noticed four (at least) new names who are ‘ having fun’ with us
I presume reporting them and letting Gransnet sort them out is the only way forward
Has anyone else noticed ?
We need a sin bin

grin

definitely wise - although your five year old GD would love it!!

Let it go, let it go …...

Jalima1108 Thu 27-Dec-18 13:59:52

I did get to the [groan] factor with the song in the link but in fact I clicked the link and I'm jigging around in my chair as I'm listening

Doing all the actions (but not singing myself grin)

So the Tooglamtogiveadamm who was bragging about all her makeup presents etc has been deleted Thank goodness she wasn’t for real and the young man who was still yearning for his girlfriend was also a fake I m glad I didn’t invest too much in either of then

I ve got one more I m keeping my beady eye on

Jalima1108 Thu 27-Dec-18 14:39:35

I missed the yearning young man

Ah, tchsad

Jalima1108 Thu 27-Dec-18 14:40:48

Oh, and the other one you mention, Bluebelle was quite obviously advertising.

BlueBelle Thu 27-Dec-18 14:43:22

Ahh you don’t know what you missed Jalima I think he may have two names or maybe a friend of similar age with a current thread I m suspicious of

Jalima1108 Thu 27-Dec-18 14:45:48

about 14?

BlueBelle Thu 27-Dec-18 15:31:45

I think that’s doing 14 year olds a misjustice ??

oldbatty Thu 27-Dec-18 15:37:44

When I was a kid, a while ago......we used to stand in the red phone box and look in the phone book for silly names. Sometimes we rang them up . Poor old Mr Jelly was on the receiving end of our teen age giggles. Oh the hilarity! I always felt a bit worried about it.

Now people come on a site designed for older ladies and pretend to be a love sick 30 year old male/a person with a lot of Christmas presents/a person who is being contacted from parents who have died.

They presumably " get off" on the thrill of reading well intentioned replies.

Its beyond me.

oldbatty We lived next door but one to the Shufflebottoms. Then when Grandma S. died, they changed their name to Taylorgrin

Cherrytree59 Fri 28-Dec-18 12:22:58

Thats us! nice to hear from you Jalima
Can we catch up in the New Year?tchsmile

EllanVannin Fri 28-Dec-18 12:38:05

When my dad was a boy the family had a maid whose name was Shufflebottom and brother and I found it highly amusing as kids would.
I never thought I'd ever hear the name again.

oldbatty Fri 28-Dec-18 12:45:43

Grand Lancashire name that. Along with Adcock.

oldbatty Fri 28-Dec-18 20:14:24

Ollerenshaw

Chewbacca Fri 28-Dec-18 20:59:58

How funny janeainsworth, one of our neighbours was called Shufflebottom and they also changed their name as soon as they had children. It was a good old Lancashire name and always made me smile giggle smile

Mapleleaf Fri 28-Dec-18 21:00:51

I think we've got one or two would be soap opera writers on the go at the moment...wink

Chewbacca Fri 28-Dec-18 21:01:24

I could be wrong but I think we've had another infiltration tonight. Getting ever more bizarre.......

Chewbacca Fri 28-Dec-18 21:02:40

Same one I just saw possibly Mapleleaf. Whatever is wrong with these people?

BlueBelle Fri 28-Dec-18 21:41:21

Yes i ve asked them to. Check that one that one if you mean the kids hair colouring thread

Mapleleaf Fri 28-Dec-18 22:10:35

I think they are looking for attention, Chewbacca, and probably lead unsatisfactory lives.
Bluebelle, I've not seen the kids hair colouring thread, but the one I've seen is certainly "interesting" (?), long, and would make a good tale for a soap opera! It's the Christmas hols, of course.

Mapleleaf Fri 28-Dec-18 22:24:41

I've just seen the kids hair colouring thread. Mmn...
As I said there, schools begin 7th January!?

Never mind the Police !
Get the Infiltration Squad involved!

lemongrove Sat 29-Dec-18 13:50:07

It’s getting beyond a joke now on this forum.
Older people are often mistakenly seen as gullible fools.
Outright nonsense or attention seeking fibs abound.

holdingontometeeth Sat 29-Dec-18 14:22:55

Yes, but they are well subscribed.
