What do people think about the young woman who ran away to join ISIS and now wants to return here to have her baby in safety?
I don't know what to think. I'm sorry her last babies died but I'm horrified to hear her dismiss unbelievers' heads in bins as 'enemies of Islam'. Any thoughts?

Buffybee Wed 20-Feb-19 15:11:39

Can I just say about my deleted post.
I meant every word of it
To delete that post was ridiculous.
Maybe this isn't a site for grown ups.

So you think that it is "grownup" Gonegirl to insult all the posters on this thread who don't agree with you by saying they are all:
Pig ignorant racist lot that voted us out of the EU

People are discussing and debating and are entitled to their own views and your rant shows yourself up as ignorant and rude.
So perhaps, as you said, this isn't the site for you.

Jalima1108 Wed 20-Feb-19 15:16:32

Perhaps the word though should be ‘notorati’.
That's better, but I was just shortening it, like 'celeb'
or 'sleb' in some quarters.

Jalima1108 Wed 20-Feb-19 15:17:49

OMG I think I agree with JRM!
trisher shock grin

Pig ignorant racist lot that voted us out of the EU

I don't believe this woman should be allowed back in the UK so let's see how I fit your description

Pig ignorant - I have an IQ of 140
Racist - I married an immigrant
voted us out of the EU - guilty

Buffybee Wed 20-Feb-19 15:31:24

Exactly! Oldwoman!

Greyduster Wed 20-Feb-19 16:00:58

The ruckus around this person is a sideshow. In 2017 the EU voiced serious concerns that the UK was home to the highest known number of Islamist radicals in Europe – between 20,000 and 25,000 people – with 3,000 considered a direct threat by MI5 and 500 under constant surveillance. (To put that 3000 into perspective it is roughly around three full battalions of British Army personnel). Many of these will be “home grown” but many will be returners. No doubt more have returned since these figures were published. Don’t tell me they are all sitting on their hands promising never to be naughty again. This is a tremendous burden to the security services and why should we be prepared to add to this burden? I think about their so called Caliphate and, over and above the medieval way of life they promote, the way they have plundered and destroyed their way through some of the most precious ancient sites in the Middle East in their quest to suppress history, art and beauty. And those, Like Khaled al-Assad, who seek to stand against them and protect these treasures? They tortured him and cut off his head. When IS first put its head above the parapet, it was treated as a joke. It’s no joke now. I’m sure there are moderate Muslims - I know a few - who don’t think it’s a joke either. Please feel free to label me as hysterical; I’m sure some of you will. I don’t want this lady here, or any more of her compatriots, crying crocodile tears of remorse.

oldwoman not saying this is you but it is perfectly possible to be married to an immigrant and to be racist! It is perfectly possible to be an immigrant and be a racist!

mumofmadboys Wed 20-Feb-19 16:21:09

I too agree with Jacob Rees Mogg

PECS Wed 20-Feb-19 16:23:08

Actually also having a high IQ does not necessarily equate to not being ignorant! Just suggests a person has the capacity to learn but not that they are universally knowledgeable! I have known friends with high IQ who are hopeless at everyday living!

Sorry Oldwoman I am playing devil's advocate not directing it at you personally.. I don't know you and so would not.

gonegirl made a comment that she attributed to the 'lot who voted us out of the EU' If the cap does not fit you ..don't wear it. I am sure there were some people who voted in the referendum who might fit that description.

POGS Wed 20-Feb-19 16:31:17

Why are women deemed to be some sort of different species to men by some?

ISIS is a barbaric group who will stop at nothing to achieve the Caliphate they fight for. They will slaughter at will, rape, enslave, crucify and behead men, women, children, babies in their belief of ' death to ALL Infidels', that is you, me our friends and families. Being a Muslim is not even protection against ISIS.

ISIS women are known to have been cruel and the testament of many Yazidi women who had seen their children, families, people slaughtered in the ways mentioned also said the ' Western ISIS.' women were the cruelest.

Who knows the truth behind Begum and her children? If she did indeed have children they too would have been brought up to slaughter their enemy from a very young age and there is evidence of that. Who knows what Begum and her husband did to their children when they decided to ' run for their own lives' because ISIS was being beaten back?

One thing you can say for sure human life means nothing to ISIS supporters and Begum knew before she left the UK what horrific slaughter ISIS fighters were capable of, as her own testament states. Knowing what she did she wanted to be part of that, marry a man and have his children, a man whom she knew perfectly well would be capable of killing at will.

As for Begum returning to the UK nobody will know what she may or may not have done. I would like somebody who perhaps was a Yazidi sex slave to recognizer her and come forward to shed a little light.

I'm perplexed that SB is being described as an intelligent woman. From the interviews with her that I've watched, her intelligence seems modest to say the least and her actions over the past 4 years don't appear to indicate any level of intelligence whatsoever.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 20-Feb-19 17:12:57

Chewbacca I think the reports of her being intelligent came from the school as she was reported as being a “straight A student”

Rosina Wed 20-Feb-19 17:21:31

I am perplexed as to how her son is to be a British citizen given that he was born in Syria, has a Dutch father, his mother no longer has British citizenship and had no British passport. I am also more than a little perplexed by the baby; the latest photo I have seen shows her with a small bundle of cloth resting on her leg; she is not supporting the baby at all, and in previous photos the baby was being held by another woman and looked rather like a thin bundle of cloth in those photos too. Am I being overly suspicious to think that this is possibly not her baby, and maybe not a baby at all? What a tangled mess this is, and what controversy will rumble on; no doubt an appeal, funded by the taxpayer, cannot be far away.

PECS Wed 20-Feb-19 17:25:51

Rosina the child was born before the revocation of her citizenship so I understand that is why this innocent babe may have UK citizenship. Poor little bugger!

Chewbacca Wed 20-Feb-19 17:39:22

I've just watched a video of her in which she has a bundle of cloth lain across her knee; purportedly the baby. At no time does the bundle move or make any sound. At one point, the cloth falls slightly open but before any glimpse of his face can be seven, she quickly swipes the cloth back across. And still the "baby" doesn't move or make a sound. hmm

trisher Wed 20-Feb-19 17:43:08

Well Bangladesh have said she's nothing to do with them. You would think a good Home Secretary would check with them before he acted!

PECS Wed 20-Feb-19 17:49:58

Oh dear..back to the drawing board! Her life is over in any meaningful sense, and that of her poor child though Chewbacca is suggesting that is fake news I think. Would be better if it was.

Gonegirl Wed 20-Feb-19 17:52:34

Interesting piece from this morning's Today programme. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0002mk8 starting from 20:10:11.

Gonegirl Wed 20-Feb-19 17:53:12

2:10:11

Chewbacca Wed 20-Feb-19 17:53:30

I think at this point trisher nobody wants her. However, Bangladeshi citizenship is automatically handed down through the maternal line, and it remains in place until she is 21 years old. If she has not actively sought to retain that citizenship, she will automatically lose it and would have to reapply for it as an adult. But the good news is that she's 19 years old and so retains her mother's right to Bangladeshi citizenship for another 2 years. Whether Bangladesh wants her or not is a different question.

PECS Wed 20-Feb-19 17:58:28

It is a bit cheeky of UK though.. I am sure UK would do what it could to avoid taking an 'undesirable' that another country was trying to palm off on the basis of dual nationality especially if they had not lived in the UK ever!

GrannyGravy13 Wed 20-Feb-19 18:12:56

If she comes back to UK she can be electronically tagged and have her technology monitored. Her baby who is an innocent can have a-chance of a normal productive life.

I have had a total change of opinion on the whole SB debacle.

EllanVannin Wed 20-Feb-19 18:20:28

My GC are Australian citizens because they were born in Australia from British parents------D and SiL are dual passport holders.

JRM is obviously a closet Labour politician. No other Conservative that I know of has 6 children for a start. Weren't they ( Cons ) advocating two at one time ?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 20-Feb-19 18:26:35

Not a politician but I am a Conservative (difficult at the moment)
we have 5 children.

PECS Wed 20-Feb-19 18:31:25

GG13 Respect! I was just going for one baby.. but DD2 happened along.. thankfully!
