Your treat for today

Just that really - please share one thing that you’re planning for the day to cheer yourself up in these trying times.

Could be anything from a bar of chocolate, glass of something lovely, arranging some freshly cut flowers from your garden or baking a cake to a freshly made bed, or even painting your toenails!

Doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks (DH has just informed me I’m daft) as long as it puts a smile on your face!

So to start this off - yesterday I changed our bed and had the best night’s sleep! Today I’m going to make some banana bread as they’re really mottled in the fruit bowl - can’t tell you how many brownie points that gets in this house!

You’re all sooo lucky ! We live in spain and no way are we allowed to go outside for a walk! ALL shops are closed as are bars - restaurants. Couldn’t pop to Primark or John Lewis! Or anywhere unless for food meds or petrol & we must keep receipts to show police where we been ! Only one in the car - people fined if caught ‘ unless taking to a Dr

Elizabeth, nothing to apologise for. I'm so glad to hear you been out and about after all your time in hospital. I think it's much nicer on the East Coast than here.

They look wonderfully uplifting Lisagran

Morning Treaters and thank you for those lovely pics yesterday- wish my garden was as full of pretty colours as some of yours!

Our walk along the beach yesterday was delightful and apart from one other couple we had the place to ourselves!

Today’s delight is - chocolate! More for himself than me as I can pretty much take it or leave it mostly but will buy some salted caramel which he likes!

Enjoy your treat folks x

My treat for today, well it was from a couple of days ago really, but rejoiced to learn that the Eurovision Song Contest has been cancelled, maybe the lack of it this year will make us realise that we don't need the humiliation of coming last every year. Contrary to the majority of the nations who take part in this farce, England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland have a wealth of talent on the world stage, small we may all be, but artistically we punch well above our weight.

Apart from that we will be going out for a walk in the park around Hampton Court, where the daffodils are out and looking amazing, bet Cardinal Wolsey thought so too when it was his gaffe.

Wishing you all well fellow GNs

Wow, love the lemon cake!

My treat was to polish off the last of the Victoria sponge........

M0nica Fri 20-Mar-20 18:25:03

A last meal out in a virtually empty pub. My car had a safety related recall appointment for today, that I wanted done, so for us seclusion has only just started.

It was one of our favourite pubs and we are sad to think we will not be back for at least three months.

SalsaQueen Fri 20-Mar-20 18:28:44

As all the pubs are going to be shut (I like going out on Saturdays, to watch a local band play), I'm staying in with some beers......

Callistemon Fri 20-Mar-20 18:39:28

I just had a gin and tonic with ice in and the juice of a lime.

Must keep up the vitamin C!
