Marydoll How horrible and unsettling for you and your neighbours
Mandelson failed security vetting. Starmer says he didn’t know
Missed Call - anyone watching?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its a nice bright sunny start here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterday, for the first time in 5 weeks I set foot in the Market Place , as waited for the Chinese take away to open .
Quieter than normal , but still saw many ignoring rules .
But when I went into the take away , they had a plastic sheet up with a gap so you could pay the money.
Partly ate meal, left some for another day.
Today, will do a 0930 Waitrose open , get what I need for the remaining days ,also planning ahead for next weekends meals ,and look at Chicken options ,see what is cheaper boned or filleted.
Mick
Marydoll How horrible and unsettling for you and your neighbours
So sorry to read your post Marydoll you sound understandably really upset. I don’t know why some people have to behave like that. Sending hugs ????
I am so sorry to hear about your upset Marydoll it is amazing how one unpleasant neighbour can upset things. I rather feel this new guy should be taken to task.
One of our neighbours in another house put barbed wire between the trees in his open plan garden to prevent the children running through. My DH went and knocked on his door and confronted him. He took it down and we were best friends after that.
I do hope you can sort it out, he had absolutely no business calling the police.
Marydoll - how awful, don't let it get you down, you've done nothing wrong
Don’t let him bully and intimidate you all Marydoll please. Just carry on as before you & your lovely neighbours. None of you are doing ANYTHING wrong. If he wants to moan to the Police they will soon have his card marked!
And if you need to let rip, then do so. He will get away with this behaviour only if you all enable it. Stand up to him and remind him what a FRIENDLY cut de sac he has moved into.
Grrr! I feel cross on your behalf!
Oh MARYDOLL that’s so horrible for you and all your lovely neighbours. What a nasty individual! Now you’re all on edge worrying about your movements. You would think kindness would reign In these difficult times. Has he got a wife or family?
Did the paper round yesterday for us and neighbours, masked and gloved up. In and out the small shop and back home. Then found no supplements in the papers, so back I went , another mask and gloves ?, got said supplements (no apologies,’ not our fault’) and straight home. Deliveries carried out and back for my cuppa. Phew!
DH was ok yesterday but still slurred speech. We’re looking forward to test results tomorrow. Thanks for all your good wishes ♥️. Have a lovely Sunday everyone. ?
Good morning from Glasgow where it is a good bit coller this morning and sunny intervals are forecast.
In an attempt to shake off my wobble yesterday I kept myself busy and this morning I went for a bike ride at 6.00am. Not a soul around and such a peaceful half hour cycle helped.
More gardening today and as I have only been out to the pharmacy a couple of times since around the middle of March I noticed the front porch desperately needs cleaning. Hardly exciting news but something to keep me busy through the wobble.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday.
Good morning from a very sunny Cheshire, what a lovely month, weatherwise, April has turned out to be here. We sat in the garden yesterday afternoon with a couple of drinks and just relaxed, the dog had been swimming on our walk and she stretch out in the sunshine to dry off. It was still hot at 6.00pm, so we ate our meal (chicken pilaff) outside, with another couple of drinks! Needless to say, himself fell asleep for most of the evening, that man could sleep for England and win! Still, it meant I could watch what I want on TV ?
Marydoll I am fuming at the behaviour of your very spiteful neighbour; what a complete bully he his - staring at your visitors, so childish. You must certainly NOT change your routine because of him, none of you are breaking the law, if he phones the police again, I doubt they would visit you again - they now have the measure of him and I am sure they have far better things to do than to indulge this moron. You must carry on with your driveway chats, please don't let him intimidate you, don't forget, YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG!!! Whew, I'm getting all aggrieved on your behalf ? What a very sad man he is.
Hope today is sunny for you all and that you have a lovely relaxing day.
That shoukd be phew, not whew!!
Marydoll, that is awful - your life is hard enough without that.
The house next to us is empty and we have a shared drive- it is quite a worry as our previous neighbour was lovely. He died recently and his partner (who doesnt live there) is round 2 or 3 times a week sorting stuff out - should I report her.
Good morning from sunny Colchester.
Sounds like there are lots of cracks appearing in people's patience after this long lockdown. Big virtual hugs for all are needed ♥️
Looking forward to roast pork and Sunday night TV.
Good Morning from a sunny Black Country. It was absolutely gorgeous yesterday, so making the most of it whilst it lasts.
Marydoll I too am fuming on your behalf. As others have said, you and your other lovely neighbours have done nothing wrong. Just carry on as normal, and if this guy calls the police again, I think they will caution him for wasting police time!
We have odd neighbours either side of us, and I long for the days when I lived in a cul de sac in Lichfield and had lovely friendly neighbours. Do not let this guy ruin the friendship you all have!
Last night had a Zoom chat with friends, then we had our 'date' night. Steak and chips, with my homemade chocolate cake and ice-cream, and I had a Prosecco.
Wishing you all a good Sunday
Good morning Auntyflo and all x
Good morning Michael and all GNs. A murky start in South Yorkshire and set to rain at some point. We are full of aches and pains after a busy day in the garden yesterday, cutting grass, planting the borders and filling pots and planters with the new plants from the garden centre. Now it’s just a case of seeing if they grow on after my “tender ministrations”
!
Today we are doing very little. Pork chops for lunch, and then we are setting up Trivial Pursuit to play online with GS and his maid and butler?. Not sure how it will work yet, though!
Marydoll. I am appalled at the actions of your neighbour. I think you should all socially distance outside his house with placards reading “Wind your neck in you utter *****, or off and leave us alone” (insulting epithet of choice here)!
Have a healthy happy day folks!
Good Morning all, very overcast here , in fact it looks like it might rain ! Not had rain for weeks . DD says I have no concept of time and it isn’t that long !
marydoll I feel quite cross for you , so unsettling , we know how law abiding you are
Marydoll I totally agree with Curlywhirly. This man shouldn’t be allows to spoil all your lovely neighbourliness. Of course you are going to be hurt and upset by him, but if you all carry on as normal it will mean he hasn’t won, and bullies don’t like losing. I think everyone on this GM thread would love to come and have a street party with you one day!
marydoll, there was a time when we used to send the grans in (on their broomsticks) - wish we could again!
Morning all! Day 41 of lockdown......from the figures here, it seems to be working. Unfortunately, it is also hateful.
Sunshine, blue skies, birdsong and food in the cupboard, so must keep on going and finding things to be positive about.
After breakfast in bed, a shower and a stroll around the garden, I’m ready for coffee, underneath an awning.....this will save the annoying but necessary “sunscreen slather” until later.
Going to investigate some online plant and shrub providers today and catch up on emails I’ve neglected this last week.
Have a really good Sunday, if you can, everyone. No wobbles today ?????
Clear blue skies in Norwich again today, but garden very dry! Sorry but I want it both ways!!sunny warm and rain during the hours of 9pm to 9am!! Will plant courgettes and squash today as rain is forecast for early part of next week !! Hopefully!
Our DD and DS have been and continue to be brilliant!! Shopping, pharmacy and bank all taken care of.....a big treat for them and their families when we return to normality! Our weekly newsletter from DGD hotly anticipated and FaceTime most days!
Roast lunch today, gardening and laundry to do! And the latest Phillipa Gregory book to finish, bit predictable, but heigh ho!!
Birthday wishes to send to GS, 23 today, cannot believe it!
Stay in and stay safe, we have done 5 weeks like the majority of GNs,
Good Morning All x
Where's the sun ? Rather cloudy this morning so a marked difference today. It's very still with not a flicker of a leaf but it could pick up as the day goes on. What does it matter anyway, I won't be going anywhere ?
Marydoll, as if things weren't bad enough that you're made to cope with an obnoxious neighbour as well. What a beast !
A horrible atmosphere you can well do without. It sounds to me as though the man's " lost it " with the lockdown.
I was delighted to have had a phone-call from a lovely friend yesterday. There are 5 of us in our " circle " and we all worked at the same hospital and remained close friends ever since over a period of 30/40 years. It was so good to hear from her. We were all supposed to have met up at her new house for eats and long chats, but-----------
Friend is working from home as she is still attached to the NHS, a clever girl with a Masters degree, but beautiful with it and about 10 years from retirement yet, our younger member.
I don't know why but I keep getting worked up now and again as I'm due at the surgery ( nurse ) for an INR and picture myself wrapped up like a mummy
I've taken such great care socially isolating that it just fills me with horror to think that if you're going to pick something up it'll be at a surgery or hospital. I wish it could be done outside
When I was on the phone, I'd had a round of scones baking in the oven
by the time I got it out you could have stopped a train with it----still edible though.
A couple of lovely lean and thick pieces of belly pork today so I'll roast some potatoes and do some carrots with it. Strawberries and ice cream for afters. That'll keep me out of mischief !
Here's hoping everyone's doing alright in this long " stretch ".
I don't know what I've done to deserve it ! Stay safe and well. xx Hope our Gillybob is coping with things a bit better x
Good morning from a slowly brightening NE.
Sat and read on my front terrace yesterday afternoon, a short chat with a dog walker as they passed.
A neighbour, who has been furloughed, has been accepted as an ambulance driver and he was telling us as he stood at the end of our drive.
I am afraid he is a little naive, when I suggested it was brave of him to put himself in the front line he said " oh I wont be at risk I am just the driver " but then proceeded to tell us that the covid ward at our local hospital is like a battle field scene.
Enjoy the pleasant weather and take care.
Marydoll don’t let it churn you up! Life is far too short to look as if you’re negotiating with bullies. This man (man?..?)
clearly has form. As others have said, the Police won’t be keen on a regular time waster. As long as households don’t have other households on their property, what you do and what conversations you have shouting to your neighbours must continue. Have fun when you can and if you feel like organising tea and cake in your own front gardens now and again, when you can wave, shout or talk on your ‘phones, why not. Arses like him would probably try to stop the nation standing outside and clapping for carers if he could. You’re all old friends, he’s totally outnumbered and needs to be regularly reminded of that. Carry On Regardless and forget all about it.
Good morning from an overcast Chester. Still in my pyjamas it is taking longer each day to get up and dressed. Nothing planned but no doubt I will find something interesting and enjoyable to do. Maybe a nice long walk, maybe some gardening or I may even curl up with a book.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Goodmorning Mick and all x
It is a beautiful clear day here in S E Essex, the birds are singing and the sun is shining.
There was great excitement in Gravy Grange on Wednesday with the arrival of a Morrisons Delivery, even more so as I had managed to get a Tescos delivery for next Sunday.........I have just had an email from Tescos informing me that my delivery will be here between 13.00 - 14.00 today. I do not know whether to laugh or cry, but I do know that shopping at silly o'clock in the morning in order to secure a home delivery is not a good idea !!!!!
Fortunately the bulk of the order is cleaning and laundry products
Mr,GG has offered to cook dinner this evening so we have Indonesian Spicy Chicken which is one of his signature dishes
Marydoll if I was in your situation I would just ignore the bugger please do not let his attitude have any repercussions on you and your neighbours lives
Keep safe and well folks ?
