Congratulations to captain tom, we could use a few more like him!

An honorary title and a spitfire fly past. Great. Good news is not before time.

I don’t think Spitfires should be celebrated. They are killing machines, like all weapons of war. I’m glad we weren’t invaded by Nazis, but I don’t want to dwell on how it was done.

As a wartime child I thought Spitfires were enemy planes, because the name is so horrible.

He is receiving a hand delivered birthday card from the Queen. I had visions of her coming herself but I suppose not possible

Did you forget to wish him Happy Birthday, which is what this thread is about.

He has captured the heart of the nation in such a modest way. I wish him & his family a wonderful celebration. I love that the Royal Mail has made a special postmark in honour of this day and have made excellent provision for handling all of his thousands of Birthday cards.

I’m sure I read his birthday was on Monday! Must have been dreaming.

One of life`s real heroes and wishing our now Colonel Tom Moore a very Happy Birthday, and many more years with which to shine as a beacon of hope to this beleagured country of ours.

PS Indeed hoping he has not caught a cold as he celebrates with great aplomb outside at quite an early rather cool morning!!
