Good Morning Everyone,
Yet another bright blue sky this morning over Brackley.
It is also less windy as well at the moment.
Any way yesterday , I did attempt to scan some photos, of my late Father.
We have a Facebook page dedicated to Memories ,and the ones I eventually managed get into the right area , posting 3 items on the page .
Today ,small shop, and see how the day develops.
My hair trimmer as now arrived at a courier in UK , so will be interesting to see when I arrives.
Take Care
Mick

Kalu, stop it! I'm certainly not upset. Why would I be?
You were trying to see both sides, which is what we should do. We never know what sorrows people have.
Having met you, I know what a lovely person you are.

Now I have more important matters to attend to. Matt the postman has just brought two lovely surprise packages. I suspect they are early birthday presents, but as they say Fragile, I can't shake them to see what they are. ?

You didn't upset me Kalu and I bet marydoll wasn't upset either! grin

On the tree front - Next door's wall (Victorian, school playground wall in conservation area) is being pushed over by their neighbour,s ENORMOUS sycamore, which has a TPO. Our neighbours are fighting the council who say the tree must stay. From my point of view, we will have more light and sun if it goes and fewer blessed sycamore seedlings in our garden. But, I'm saying nothing!! grin

See, that's what I said! grin

Kitty, it's all about getting a balance, isn't it.
A year ago, one of the trees had to be cut down, as it was badly diseased. It had to be done for safety reasons, it would have flattened a few houses, if it came down in a storm, it was the correct thing to do.

We got a shock when the foundations for extension were dug and there were tree roots everywhere. We hadn't a clue that there was a problem.

Thank you both, I needed that and it means a lot to me.

Back to trees. In our area trees that become a ridiculous height for suburban gardens are well pruned back thankfully.

Years ago a particularly nasty neighbour who ignored our pleas to remove his tree which was pushing against our wall and in danger of landing on our roof if the next storm uprooted it. The next storm found most of his tree dangerously in ours. Planning acted quickly and ordered him to remove it and pay for damage to our wall. Had he been more understanding, we would have paid half the costs.

The house is spring cleaned
Nfk Expect your windows are the cleanest in your street, after 7 weeks of TLC! grin How's your window-cleaning business coping with these difficult times?
Being self-employed, probably OK.! grin
Take care and don't fall off the ladder again!

My windows are sparkling Rufus. I was a cleaner in a previous existence but fortunately I’m retired now so usually do only the minimum. Usually my house is the messiest, most untidy, spider friendly. I may take pictures to show how nice it looks now.

I don't usually post on this thread but always read it. GILLYBOB please don't be put off posting, you have been through so much. There will be a light at the end of the tunnel just hang in there! I have always believed nastiness says more about the poster than than the target. Stay strong.

Here’s another vote for Gillybob, pay no attention to the poster who called you uncouth!

She will be scared to show her face here again after her mean comment, don’t see anyone giving her support.

kittylester Wed 13-May-20 17:33:38

A couple of us have wondered how she is Llamedos.

It's not about taking sides its about support and I, for one, hope she comes back.

Hi all, I’m new to gransnet
I’ve been for a walk and to see my mum who is 94, I’m allowed to visit but keep to meters apart.

My husband died last August so I have had to get used to being on my own. Done some gardening and reading. A bit cold for gardening. By

I totally agree Kitty,

Urmstongran Wed 13-May-20 17:59:49

Me too kitty well said. Life is tough enough for many at present and certainly too fragile for squabbles!
