Your next holiday - where to?

We were going to New York in December as an early celebration of our upcoming 70th birthday in 2021. We are not going now. It would have been our first long haul flight, having only travelled to European destinations before.

Our next holiday will certainly be in the UK, possibly Scotland. There is much of the British Isles that we have never visited, we really should see more of our lovely islands.

GrandpaGravy is adamant that we are jetting off to Mauritius for 3 weeks before Christmas.

If allowed (by Government lifting restrictions) two DIL's , DD myself and 6 GC will have a "caravan/lodge holiday" in the U.K. with the menfolk joining us for the weekends in the summer.

We normally go abroad two/three times a year for holidays and to visit family, anode have three/four city breaks in the UK as there are a lot of homegrown places we have not visited. The city breaks are normally with friends.

We are booked to go to Oban in Spetember, Berwick upon Tweed in October, Durham in November, Manchester in December and Inverness in March. I have lived overseas and spent many holidays abroad in some gorgeous places but nowhere beats the U.K.

Gravy13, Don’t go to Mauritius at that time of year. It’s one of the worst months for cyclones. I know, I spent my first 21 years there.
Much much nicer is March/April, when it’s less humid and it’s the fruit season.

We had a fabulous Christmas in South Goa and have booked again to go back this year. Neither of us wants to go now and we don't know whether to pay the rest of the deposit. The money is overdue but they haven't demanded it.
I am on the extremely vulnerable list so don't want to spend nine hours on a plane.
I think future holidays will be in the UK.

I have paid a deposit on a trip to Warmers at Nidd Hall near Harrogate.
My final payment is due with local travel shop end of June.
The latest Warmers website info says July 2nd subject to COVID-19 updates .
I am hoping it goes ahead but also feel it may not happen.

I was going to Tenerife next month. I wanted to go because I have never been there. Don't know if I'll ever get there now.
And I was hoping to visit my granddaughter in Ireland but that's off too.
I love holidays in this country too. Back in my camper-van days we went all over.

We were supposed to be going to visit friends at County Durham in June but that has already been cancelled along with the trip to Whitby back in April. No trips abroad since USA in 2013 and Austria in 2014 as I want to see more of our own beautiful country. Once this is lifted then I wanted to get booked up to visit Bonny Scotland in October and visit two lovely friends.

Grandmattie , exactly I think it will all depend on when flying restrictions are lifted. If not we will go to visit eldest son in Kenya and hopefully their DD will be home from college.

We were just about to book a holiday to a favourite hotel in Ibiza when it all kicked off. And as soon as it is totally safe to travel we will go back there again.

TBH, not thinking about any holidays at the moment, here or abroad.

My daughter and I share a big birthday in October so we are keeping everything crossed that our party will be able to go ahead as planned.

We holiday in the UK and abroad. One reason is to visit one son in London and one in America.

Last year we went to Australia. I lost my sister after a short illness (although it felt long while it was happening) and it made me realise that we only have one brief life. I’d talked about wanting to go to Australia for years and my sister dying was the impetus to get on and do it. How glad I am that we went because I’m not sure we’d get the chance again.

We have a tour of northern India booked for November/December. Who knows what will happen there.
In January we spent 3 weeks in the Caribbean and February 3 weeks in Egypt.
Clearly, at that time of year the U.K. has little to recommend it as a holiday destination.
Spring, Summer and Autumn was meant to be spent mainly on Loch Lomond. With luck the boat will be in the water by the end of the month ??

Living in NI I like to go somewhere for guaranteed sun.

But my next holiday will be Sligo. I've no desire to fly anywhere atm.

I am still booked for the USA in September. I’m not hopeful.

I am lucky that 2 of my children live in good holiday places.

One in Harrogate and one in the Peak District. So I will be off to both of those places when it is safer to go. Not for a long time sadly.

Know it's daft but I said to oh I would have to take my own pillows if we went to a hotel . We like to holiday in this country not bothered about going abroad .

Our favourite place in the UK is the Yorkshire dales and that is where we hope to go next Year. I don't think we will consider flying anywhere for the foreseeable future. Although we love Italy and miss it a lot we are hopeful that we can revisit again when possible. Many people may well discover all the beauty and landscape that the UK has to offer and it will help our hospitality industry when it is able to open again.

we were off to Venice in March. Then Cambridge, and the Forest of Dean... all now cancelled.

So I'm thinking Llandudno - wish I was there now!

I really hope to be able to visit my family in Canada next year. We haven't seen them for a few years now.

This year (so far) is the first time in my life I've not had a holiday abroad!
