Good Morning Everyone,
Its a sunny start here in Brackley this morning, supposed to be a nice warm day in this part of the country as well.
Mid week shop , and get in que for the 8 opening.
return home some TV ,and some housework.
I am hoping that things in general will improve ,and slowly get back to some sort of normality.
Take care
Mick

Oh I didn’t know that Marydoll . Maybe she’s just feeling a bit fed up and taking a break. I do hope so .

Nortsat Wed 20-May-20 09:07:46

Good morning Mick and GM team from sunny east London.

Bella how heartbreaking for your friend to say goodbye to her DH in such a way. She is lucky to have you to support her.
Mary so sorry to hear you are in such pain, I hope your day improves.
Gilly hope Barclaygate brings you some progress today.
Urmston I was thinking about Mommawolf yesterday and how much I miss her posts.

My wretched phone has been returned with the fault entirely unresolved. As I am shielding, it was such a problem to send it back in the first place, now presumably it will need to go back again. I despair.

My poor partner hardly slept at all last night and is really groggy today.
I plan to make pizza for supper, I have some bases in the freezer and will add some tasty toppings. Then we can have supper in the garden, with a cold beer ?

I wish I were on the Norfolk Broads, like Nflkdumpling today - lucky woman. Have a good day all, special good wishes to those who need them and ‘let’s be careful out there’. ?

NannyJan53 Wed 20-May-20 09:17:02

I too was thinking about mommawolf recently, her posts were always so uplifting, and it was really so upsetting what happened.

Good morning all from a bright and sunny mid-Notts - a beautiful day smile. Our cleaner is coming today to do her 2 hours in the garden (not cleaning the garden - gardening!!). She has been doing the garden every week since lockdown as cleaning inside hasn't been an option. She's done a brilliant job but I do miss her working her magic inside the house!! Stay safe everyone and may Wednesday be kind to us all x

CherryCezzy Wed 20-May-20 09:25:28

Good morning Mick and everyone. The forecast was for bright ?, it's blanket grey cloud here in the Gower.

I haven't read any posts this morning, dratted seizure has messed things up for me again. I am aching everywhere and stiff as a board.

I sincerely hope each of you are do well this morning, ((hugs)) to you if you are not and ? to everyone.

Stay safe and be kind to yourselves ❤️

Gelisajams Wed 20-May-20 09:35:19

Good morning from a warm sunny Morecambe Bay which promises to be even warmer as there is virtually no wind coming in across the Bay. Just back from our morning walk. Cumbria had disappeared in a blanket of morning mist, but as we walked across the shore the tops of the Fells were starting to emerge.
Off shortly to garden my patch in the village churchyard, then I really must plant the rest of my plants which have suddenly shot up in my little greenhouse. They were ready to go out last week but I left them because of the forecast frosts. Big mistake!
I too initially read Beechnut’spost as wedding! It must be wishful thinking for ways to get normality in this lockdown!
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Good morning All, my 3rd "Good Morning....." read having only recently joined Gransnet.

I will be 53 on Monday (Bank Holiday, yippee!) and with children of 27, nearly 17 and 14 and a 3 year old grandson, felt I had outgrown Mumsnet and found this site!!

I am still working full time, crisis or not (currently working from home though), although my husband is a self employed driving instructor and isn't currently working. Younger children are obviously off school so having to juggle working full time, home schooling, shopping and usual home management stuff but I'm up for the challenge.

Happy Wednesday to everyone, hope it's a good one.

CherryCezzy Wed 20-May-20 09:43:39

Welcome to G'net esgt1967 ?.

Urmstongran Wed 20-May-20 09:46:56

Good morning to you too esgt1967 nice to have you join the gang!
?
Great to have some details of who you are. We do like to know where you live, what the weather’s like and of course the value of your house.

Good morning Mick and all x

It is a glorious day here in S E Essex temperature due to reach 28/29 degrees. Bouncy Castle up and Hot Tub open (we are fortunate that it is a large one, all GC have learnt to float/swim and get their water confidence in it)

I am a happy bunny as my lovely cleaning ladies are back today, I have found it difficult to find my inner domestic goddess these last 65 days!!!! I shall make banana bread later and several different salads as we are having a BBQ dinner this evening.

bellasnana how sad for your friend, what a lovely supportive friend she has in you,

Marydoll we are getting some Skate and Dover Sole straight from one of the fishing boats at Old Leigh being delivered Thursday evening, one of the AC has sorted it out.

dragonfly I hope your leg pain eases soon.

GabriellaG54 was attacked on another thread, she did respond in her forthwright style and had a post deleted, it's not easy swimming against the current on GN sometimes.

gillybob will keep my fingers crossed for a better outcome for you from Ba****d Barclays!!!

Keep safe and well folks ?

GrannyGravy13 Wed 20-May-20 09:49:47

esgt1967 welcome and good morning ?

Kalu Wed 20-May-20 09:50:30

Good morning all from Glasgow where warmer weather and bursts of sunshine are a welcome start to the day.

Dear Marydoll if only I had a magic wand or some way of alleviating the awful pain you have to endure, it’s so, so unfair the rotten timing means you have to miss out on much needed treatment. I only hope your pain eases off as the day goes on ?

Bellasnana You are such a caring person, I know, having known you so long now and you will be such a comfort, being their for your friend’s very sad situation. Look after yourself too.

We have someone here today laying a slab base for the greenhouse to sit plus he will be replacing the roof felting on my she shed, aka, my sanctuary, with one of a much better quality to stop the odd leak that is appearing now.

A white towel wash already hanging in the sunshine and I am ready to take advantage of my get up and go feeling today. Now, where’s my to do list?

Have a good day and I hope, a better day for those who are struggling

Kalu Wed 20-May-20 09:52:56

There not their. ??‍♀️

Mythbirtthedragon Wed 20-May-20 09:53:28

Good morning from east London where it’s bright, sunny and warm. Spent some time trying to work out if I need to go shopping today but have concluded it can wait. I’ve taken to going about 7pm for ‘the big shop’ but there’s a history talk online tonight about an old cemetery in Hackney that I want to join. Have to say there were a lot of ‘relaxed’ people on the playing fields last night; either that or some very large households. Some of the play/gym equipment had had all the taping removed. Easy to avoid them but I wouldn’t want to see facilities being closed because some people won’t comply. Maybe these are the ones who haven’t realised the symptoms of Co-vid have moved on from the early days of ‘dry cough and fever’. Hope you have a good day.

Susan56 Wed 20-May-20 09:53:56

Good morning from the Shropshire borders where the sun is shining.

DH decided to start clearing out his study yesterday?there’s a lot of paper to shred?I cleared out one of the bookcases and managed to fill a box with books I won’t read again.I advertised them free on Facebook and said I would leave them on the drive for collection. They were collected within 15 minutes!

More sorting out this morning then sit in the garden reading this afternoon.I am reading The Long Call by Ann Cleeves who wrote Shetland and Vera. This is the first book featuring a new detective,I am really enjoying it.

Urmston,I have added mushrooms to my supermarket order!

Hope you get your call from the bank today gilly and that things are finally sorted for you??????

Cherry,Mary and dragonfly, hope you all feel better as the day goes on?

Take care and stay safe everyone.

EllanVannin Wed 20-May-20 09:55:15

Good Morning All x
We've got the promised sunshine so I've got the washing on the go as I'd wanted to do the bedding.

Woke up in a bit of a panic thinking it was Thursday as I have a second INR appt. and it's getting on my nerves a bit. The test 2 weeks ago produced a low reading so pills had to be adjusted. Can't understand why there was such a change when I felt well ? Maybe because of the warmer conditions my blood is thickening as does everyone's. That's my conclusion anyway. I have noticed this a few times in the past. Nature's way.

Dragonfly, your problem sounds like your medication more than anything else.
What a difficult time for you today Bellasnana, we'll all be thinking about you and your friend. x

Scentia, ours was another family who avoided morning sickness but a friend of mine in the 60's was sick all the way through poor thing and I used to say the baby would be " thrown up ". Be glad that she's not "suffering" smile

Gabriella's probably having some time out and may have been getting a bit stressed or bored with present conditions. We can all feel a bit bogged down at times and when you're as fit and able as she appears to be it's pretty difficult.

Baked potatoes and a couple of home-made burgers today so nice and easy. I'd made the burgers a couple of weeks ago and froze them.
Speaking about mushrooms warding off the virus, I polished off a punnet of them in a couple of days last week with a heap of fried tomatoes, so tasty.

Gillybob, I'm sure things will work out for you as "dragging of feet "seems to be the norm in lots of areas now. x Nobody jumps to it like things used to be when people fell over themselves to help----those days are gone.

Hoping that everyone is getting along alright and will enjoy this nice drop of weather. Stay safe and well xx

Urmstongran Wed 20-May-20 10:13:38

I read yesterday that mushrooms are rich in vitamin D too but only if you put them in the sun first for half an hour. I shall slice them, put them in a large frying pan and set them in the sun on the balcony before putting them on the hob with a large knob of butter. Himself will think I’ve lost the plot ....

Good morning everyone, lovely day in Warwickshire, just sitting in garden with a cup of tea, will be doing some much needed housework this morning and then off to work at lunchtime. Wishing everyone a good day, and thinking about you and your friend BellasNana.

Grandmafrench Wed 20-May-20 10:21:18

Good Morning everyone from my 31 degrees, Jasmine-scented South of France garden. To you Bella and especially your friend, what cruel times. Everyone is thinking of her, please tell her that.

Nothing to say other than, everyone please take care. Get better, feel better soon if you have pain or are sad or desolate. Hold on, life will get better.

Have a good day if you have sunshine and keep trying to make the most of this funny old life we seem to be stuck in!

Hugs to you all. xx

GrannySomerset Wed 20-May-20 10:31:16

Nothing new to report but I too am missing Gabriella and Monica and hope all is well with them both. I am a bit of a lurker here but so enjoy Marydoll’s brave and funny novellas and am anxiously following Gillybob’s travails. What with MrG’s struggles to get the NHS to do the right thing and Barclay’s cruel incompetence she so needs someone to do the right thing.

Have as good a day as possible, everyone.

Susan56 Wed 20-May-20 10:38:00

I shall put my mushrooms in the sun too Urmston??

Gwenisgreat1 Wed 20-May-20 10:46:43

Good morning Michael, from sunny Harrogate. Doesn't everywhere look so much better when the sun shines? Hubby is at the hospital for an appointment, he didn't want me there. Hope it's a genuine appointment, last we were there and they had apparently phoned us to say the appointment would be by phone!!

Taichinan Wed 20-May-20 10:52:56

Good morning Mike and all. We have ? on the Angus coast! Thought it had gone for good, so welcome back!. Haven't read through this lovely thread yet as I'm a late starter, but just wanted to say how dreadfully sad I am for your friend, Bellasnanna. I can't start to imagine how she must be feeling - the cruellest of situations. Thank goodness she has you with her. Now I'm off to start on another round of grass cutting before the good weather realises it's in the wrong place and leaves again. Hope to pop in later but if I don't make it, have the best day you can everyone. ??

Purplepixie Wed 20-May-20 11:10:01

Good morning from a very sunny and warm East Midlands.

So far I have done a 50 minute walk before 9am and hung the washing out. Then DH did the shopping and it is all cleaned and put away. Relax time in the garden with a cuppa and then maybe read a book or do some more embroidery which I am enjoying, immensely. I am not a professional at embroidery but learning different stitches from the internet and a book.

Have a great day and stay safe and sane. X

JenniferEccles Wed 20-May-20 11:13:46

I remember Gabriella’s post.
It was on my ‘holiday homes’ thread. Yes she did have a bit of a dig at some people but surely it would have been possible to tackle her about it and discuss it?

Someone of course reported it and it was deleted.

Surely there is room on GN for posts which some might find controversial?

It will be a very sad day indeed if only bland and boring comments are allowed.
