Can't remember where I left my Sense of Humour

I've always had a weird sense of humour. I can find the funny side of anything and so can my DH. Its what attracted me to him years ago. (he thinks it was his dashing looks ha) We tease and laugh at each other constantly. Banter starts and then it just keeps feeding. Its got me out of sticky situations too.

However, I've lost my sense of humour over the last few days. I've looked for it everywhere.....under the bed, in the fridge (that's usually where lost things are found in this house) and in the bits and bobs drawer but alas all I can find is my tiny violin and the noise of that is irritating the hell out me

I need my Sense of Humour back please. I've tried to send a message to St Anthony he the guy of lost things but hes self isolating and knows that I'm not a believer so no luck there then. I need it back. If anyone else has borrowed it please return to its loving owner ASAP
Anyone else lost theirs?

Have you looked down the back of the chair?
It is amazing what I have found down there and there always seems to be money so you could at least buy something with the cash.
Here's a lovely story by Margaret Mahy. I hope it will make you smile:

I thought i had lost my sense of humour until I got undressed last night in front of my full length mirror - WHOA! Who the hell has invaded my body and given me bits of fat, boobs to tie in a knot, knees like rugby balls ( I think rugby balls are better shaped!), bingo wings that bats would be proud of, hair that looks like dry grass (at least dry grass can be eaten by animals), a bum that blocks the light from the sun, oh and lets not forget the moustache that Salvador Dali would be proud of. Some come on lets find this sense of humour. X smile

Thought mine had gone off on an unofficial drive somewhere. Thank goodness found it had returned when watching Peter Kay's Car Share repeats. Also seems to comes to the surface again when watching Jane Godley's videos of Nicola Sturgeon at her daily briefing.

May7, you really haven't lost it, certainly not the written humour anyway as you had me laughing with your witty prose.

The big humour is sheltering under the corona bush till a more appropriate time. You will feel that humour hug very soon as it comes out slowly from lockdown. flowers

SOH still with me but my MOJO went AWOL a few days ago. Probably gone off to socialise, safely, with all the missing SOHs. Please notify me if you see it anywhere, I do miss it.

It sounds like your giggle pin has become dislodged. Try loud belly laughing for 3 mins. Nice and loud. That may help it lodge back into place. ?? Laughter therapy it’s called. No charge. ?

Mine pops in and out.(Sense of humour I mean) Some days I cannot raise a smile and nothing seems funny. Sometimes I wake up and I feel ok. The last laugh I had was on here with the thread of embarrassing moments.

May7 Although your sense of humour may have done a runner - I'm sure it will come back. It is good to hear that I'm not the only one to have a weird sense of humour. In fact it nearly got me into trouble when I worked as a secretary for a consultant at a hospital. My colleagues would hear me, hysterical with laughter and wouldn't have the foggiest idea why. I saw the funny side of things and also of bad situations. I remember saying to my boss, after a call received about a patient's death, 'another one bites the dust'! There were lots of other occasions; and even after having left my job - I've still got that sense of humour. Hubby sometimes finds me in tears with laughter over something that he can't quite fathom. But then he is Dutch so it is a bit more difficult. But having said that - we had a bet, when we first got together, who had the worst sense of humour. I think I've won! But it is nice to share that love of humour.

So... your sense of humour has done a runner, Gone with the Wind... or you've had a sense of humour failure and need to jump start it. I hope you can find it and reel it back in, even if it comes back screaming and shouting! Hugs.flowers shamrock

Try "The Golden Girls" on Channel 5 during the day. I record it and watch in the evenings. The facial expressions are a hoot. Also a daily laugh with Matt cartoons.
