Gorgeous Dirk Bogaerd. A Tale of Two Cities was just fab!

Gracesnan Sun 31-May-20 18:13:57

Tony Curtis and Reginald Bosanquet (don’t laugh)

Oopsminty Sun 31-May-20 18:15:37

My mother liked Reginald, Gracesnan!

Timothy Dalton was another favourite. He was in Wuthering Heights. Or maybe Jane Eyre

Gracesnan Sun 31-May-20 18:18:32

I am getting on a bit! I had his picture on the lid of my desk at school!

Sneaked into Bonnie and Clyde which was "X" rated if I remember rightly and therefore for aged 18 and above, my mates and I were about14 or so! Anyway we all fell instantly in love with Warren Beatty. Further, much further down the line it was Brad Pitt for quite a while. Although I can see the appeal of Dirk Bogarde, I loved him in the film "Death in Venice"

Little Joe on Bonanza was my crush. I went to the Bonanza ranch about 50 years later. Unfortunately it was a bit of a disappointment. No Little Joe of course.

The rifle man, John Ernest Crawford.

James Stewart for me, often on weekend TV in afternoon films when we were growing up. I loved him in The Glenn Miller Story and all those Westerns he was in and also Mr Smith goes to Washington and Rear Window of course.

Another for Dirk Bogarde. I liked him in the Doctor films but after a Tale of Two cities & the Wind Cannot read I was really besotted. I was told he was gay when about 15 or 16 but didn't believe it. He just hadn’t met me! I practiced raising one eyebrow as he did in a publicity photo I was sent. I can still do it!

Callistemon Sun 31-May-20 20:27:06

Was James Dean gay? I never knew that Franbern.

Clint Eastwood for me even now he is 90. I once had a boyfriend who I thought looked just like him... ?
Loved him in all the Westerns,, Dirty Harry and Bridge over Madison County. His son has his looks too and is a good actor.

Oh my, there were so many! Alain Delon, Clint Eastwood, Little Joe in Bonaza, Tony Curtis. Later on David Essex, Al Pacino, Brad Pitt. The list is endless.........

My mum had a crush on Christopher Plummer sodapop.
When the Sound of Music first came out she went to the cinema's in the area with my dad to watch it.
I thought Clint Eastwood was very handsome and Richard Burton.
When I was at secondary school I had a big crush on Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. I had pictures of him all over my bedroom wall.
Then came David Essex. Need I say anymore!

BladeAnnie Sun 31-May-20 23:05:45

David Essex in the 70s smile

Curlywhirly Sun 31-May-20 23:13:19

Had a huge poster on my bedroom wall of Cat Stevens, he was really dishy in his younger days. Strangely, really fell for Nick Nolte in 'Rich Man Poor Man' but think it was more the character he played that attracted me rather than him in real life; he looks a rum biscuit these days, he's not worn well at all! Biggest crush though has to be George Clooney in ER.

Luckylegs Sun 31-May-20 23:16:35

Michael Landon (Little Joe) and Pete Duel from Alias Smith and Jones. My room was covered in pictures of Michael Landon. I was a bit older and more serious about Pete Duel!

Nannytrace Sun 31-May-20 23:19:13

Oliver Reed - and I’ve been partial to a bad boy ever since.
