I am so very sorry. My computer has died on me. Am having to use MacS's and am in a bit of a pickle. Just wanted to open this new kitchen and try to catch up later.

I've just spotted that it is Ann's birthday so had to come in and say 'Happy Birthday' and have a lovely day.

I too peer through the window periodically (all the time actually!) and think about morethan all the time.

The kitchen is a lovely place but is a trifle too busy for me currently. I've got Covid brain.

TOYA

MawB Is Hattie better and eating? - No more accidents?
? I hope so.

cornergran Sun 12-Jul-20 14:49:04

A very happy birthday ann, the meal sounded just right. Enjoy every minute of today.

How is hattie today maw? I recall those worries well, sometimes think I fretted more about the dogs than I did the children. Once they could speak the children told me loudly exactly what was wrong. smile.

Another one here who looks through the Kitchen window to keep an eye on you all but simply can’t keep up. Definitely TOYA.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY dear Ann. Us lot send love and hugs and virtually calorie-free cupcake and wine. Enjoy your day. flowers sunshine

Susan I trust that your beloved is recovering well from his nasty fall. Babes bounce. Most of us lot aren't quite as bendy. I should know. I'm an expert at the art of tumbling.

Maw I know exactly how you are feeling about your dear Hattie's "blip". I also think that she may have a UTI. IF so, the vet will have her sorted in double quick time. Please keep us updated.

N&G Your photo is worthy of a prize. It is stunning. I wish that I had taken it.

Puzzler And your photograph is marvellous. I have a great fondness for swans.

Greyduster Sun 12-Jul-20 14:58:24

Stranger alert! Just to say “Happy, happy birthday, Ann! Have a splendid day and a G&T or three!”

soop Sun 12-Jul-20 15:03:07

For any of our gang who find it difficult to keep up to date - SNAP! Never mind. As long as we continue to care for each other, that is what is most important.

We were able to enter the home of our friends in the village for the first time since lock-down. We spent a happy half an hour blethering. It was an enormous treat. Our next door neighbour is celebrating his 60th birthday today. Son in Leicester celebrating his 59th. Our Ann also celebrating her special day. grin

Bellanonna Sun 12-Jul-20 15:04:26

I’m a bit late, ann, but happy birthday wishes! Glad you enjoyed yourself yesterday. It sounds like real treat.

N&G you are privileged to have a hare in your garden. I’ve seen very few in my lifetime. Hopefully they’re not destructive to gardens?

Pittcity Sun 12-Jul-20 16:16:56

Many happy returns Annsixty??

Puzzler61 Sun 12-Jul-20 16:47:07

You are doing a lot of birthday celebrating soop
Happy Birthday to your Big son (is he the one who was a tall baby?) I hope he is having a great day, and your neighbour too.
All are worthy of ?, ?, ? and ?

soop Sun 12-Jul-20 16:57:05

Puzzler Spot on. Andrew is a good 6'2". I'm a mere 5' hmm

It is a clear bright day. Everything is peaceful. Just the way we like it.

I'm ready for brew and a catch up with the newspaper. I like this time of day.

Thank you all for your company. Sorry not to have more exciting news to share with you. As I said, it's a peaceful, uneventful day. TOYA and wishing you a pleasant Sunday evening.

Until tomorrow - smile moon

Good evening Kitcheners.

Wow it's so hot. Returned earlier from a visit to country chums. It was wonderful because we haven't visited them since almost a year ago. It was a bitter-sweet occasion. We had declined lunch, but we still had champagne and strawberry tart and an ice cream before leaving.. She looked so nice in a yellow dress, with a wonderful tan. She is now required to go to the hospital for 3 gruelling dialysis sessions per week which take all afternoon each time. Her left arm was covered in dressings and plasters and was swollen. On her chest she had another dressing and a line directly into her jugular beneath her skin - and the tan - and she has had to slow down considerably. He was always profoundly deaf with a cochlear implant but now has heart problems, is worried about losing his Wife and has had a prostate cancer diagnosis only recently. I cried behind my sunglasses - they never saw. He is 90 and she is 85 in a few weeks. They said they've no married friends left - everyone is widowed. But they were laughing and happy and so very pleased to see us again. We must push Covid back into a corner and meet up with friends , just for garden sessions, on a regular basis. Carpe Diem and all that.

So love hares and what wonderful photos, N & G. What a privilege to see such beautiful animals so close. How is little Hattie, MawB ? Hopefully, lots better than yesterday.
Many happy returns Ann. Hope your spirits have been suitably lifted this w/end - how wonderful to be 60 ? grin

Ice cold Pimms all round, do you think? We can raise a glass to "friendship" and hope for a lovely week ahead. We all need and enjoy puds for a treat, Soop. We need your kind too......Peaceful Uneventful Days. Here's to lots of them. Take care everyone. TOYA
- and hugs. x

Grandmafrench I shed a tear for your friends, their dignity remains although it sounds as if time is running out for them.

Your visit enhanced their day, and your friendship is clearly valued by your friends. I think you made their Sunday very special, and you had a good time too.

Invaluable memories for all of you. ?
I hope you get to make more. ?

annsixty Sun 12-Jul-20 22:39:18

I also feel for your friends GrandmaFrench
I really don’t wish I was 60 again, so much bad happened after that birthday.
However I have achieved 83 in good health apart from my dicky hip.
I am blessed on every other way.
I have been out for a meal tonight with my GD and will post a photo when she sends them to me.
I feel so lucky at this time in my life, so many are not so blessed.

Grandmafrench Sun 12-Jul-20 22:42:42

If there's anything nice to say, you'll always say it. Nighty night, Puzzler. Sweet dreams. x

Grandmafrench Sun 12-Jul-20 22:47:24

Thank you Ann and please let us have a photo. Just be determined now that you're going to have more fun and the better times you deserve....with that new hip you've been promised. Goodnight to you.

Nannytopsy Sun 12-Jul-20 23:29:21

Just made it to wish Ann a very happy birthday. ?

Charleygirl5 Mon 13-Jul-20 08:04:17

The sun is out here and Tara left ages ago. Because my eye treatment monthly is a trial, the American company is paying for minicabs so I apparently have had one booked for 1.30 pm for my 12 mid-day appointment! Their brains are worse than mine.
TOYA

soop Mon 13-Jul-20 12:41:20

Grandmafrench The tree-lined road, sunlight filtering through the leaves, is beautiful. Your friends will have enjoyed your company. They both show enormous tenacity and the spirit remains willing. I can almost see your suntanned friend in her lovely yellow dress.

Ann I would like to see a photo of you and your granddaughter celebrating your birthday. She is a treasure, As indeed are you.

Charleygirl It's a bonus to have a minicab to transport you to your appointments BUT it's essential that you can depend on the cab arriving at the appropriate time. Have you had a quiet word, or two. wink

Puzzler61 Mon 13-Jul-20 13:43:35

Charleygirl that taxi would have been as useless as a chocolate teapot!
I hope it wasn’t too difficult to rearrange and that you got to your appointment on time?

MawB Mon 13-Jul-20 13:52:28

Belated birthday wishes Annsixty Glad your meal out was so nice - these occasions matter even more these days.

Off to the vet in a few minutes with poor Hattie.
I had the bright idea of getting a wee specimen from her this morning (easy with bitches!) and I was horrified to find it was dark red- I thought at first it was blood! So I took that and a poo specimen over to the practice first thing and hope that they will have tested them before we get there. She is not unhappy in herself I think, just looking a bit lost and plaintive and not impressed with evil Mum who squirts water into her mouth with a syringe every time she sees her.
Watch this space.

Doodle Mon 13-Jul-20 13:57:24

grandmafrench sorry to hear about your friends. It must have been nice for them to meet up with you.
Glad you had a nice meal with your GD ann
charleygirl you might have a problem getting there on time. Hope it goes well.
soop beautiful photos as usual.
I too am having trouble keeping up with everyone. I do read but can’t always post. Hugs to all feeling a bit below par or with worries, TOYA ?

Doodle Mon 13-Jul-20 13:58:41

Just popping back to say maw I do hope Hattie is ok. Hope the vet can find out what’s wrong.

Puzzler61 Mon 13-Jul-20 14:19:32

The vet will sort Hattie out with some medication Maw and she’ll be fine before you know it. ? please let us know later how you got on.

MawB Mon 13-Jul-20 16:07:59

We’re back (and somewhat poorer)
Hattie is a poorly pooch with a fever and blood and crystals in her wee. Hopefully just a UTI so an antibiotic jab and Metacam to help bring her temperature down. We have to go back tomorrow for another temperature check and reassessment. As long as she is responding there will probably be a prescription for oral a/b’s
She is sleeping peacefully beside me and only panting a bit.
I am relieved it isn’t anything worse-kidney failure or a major bug, she is such a good dog, comes to find me whenever she needs me and is such a love.

Puzzler61 Mon 13-Jul-20 16:15:05

Oh poor dog! Hattie looks exhausted (and you probably are too with the worry).
She will bounce back, just give her time - and lots of loving care.
We are often at the Vet’s with our elderly cat - it keeps us poor for sure! But they are worth it ? ?
