I am so very sorry. My computer has died on me. Am having to use MacS's and am in a bit of a pickle. Just wanted to open this new kitchen and try to catch up later.

Some very lovely photo’s have appeared in the Kitchen lately.
A splendid chocolate cake, a pretty lollipop tree, soop ‘s handsome son and cute-as-a-button Mila, a photo of a cloudless sky over a dreamy garden and our new Gallery pin up pooch Chloe.

This really is a beautiful thread. ?

Get well wishes for Hattie. I do understand how worrying this is maw, having said that it is really positive she’s getting excellent care. Try to relax tonight, someone else is Hattie's nurse for now.

Charleygirl5 Fri 17-Jul-20 18:50:30

Maw so sorry to hear Hattie has been admitted. She will not enjoy that because her favourite sofa is not there.

Luckily this was not a Friday 8 pm problem and she was seen at a reasonable time. You must be worried sick about her but with luck she will be home soon with tail wagging and so exhausted doing nothing she will need to rest her eyes.

Grandmafrench Fri 17-Jul-20 18:52:17

Get well, gentle soul.......and stop worrying your Mum! ?

annodomini Fri 17-Jul-20 19:27:56

Oh Maw, you must be frantic. Hattie means so much to you. I don't suppose you will get much sleep tonight but hope you will be able to sneak a few hours. Take care of yourself so you'll be able to care for her as she deserves when she comes back home. xx

Doodle Fri 17-Jul-20 19:32:23

For Hattie

kittylester Fri 17-Jul-20 20:30:29

Oh, maw, try not to worry about Hattie.

soop, isn't Mila gorgeous!

My friend came this afternoon and we chatted for 3 hours about nothing really. It was so lovely to see her and she brought chocolate cup cakes with raspberries in and mascarpone topping. I'm keeping some for us but the rest are on the side!

Get well soon wishes for Hattie - Maw please take care.

Hi all in this lovely warm kitchen. I got news yesterday that my lovely friend might have to go back into hospital as she has had breathing problems. Bless her. She has had MS for a long time and with the infection in her leg, she has had to have a lot of antibiotics. Well the leg is clearing up slowly but the antibiotics have given her severe thrust in her mouth. Because of the MS everything just isn’t working properly and the other day she had problems with her breathing. Fingers crossed that she is going to be ok. Also the dr was called and he said that she is dehydrating and might have to go on a drip if they dont get more fluids into her. I’m worried about her.

I’ve just made some chocolate chip cookies and carrot and coriander soup. Just trying to keep busy when all i want to do is sit and cry. Thank you for listening (reading).

Stay safe and sane - not easy. flowers

Grandmafrench Chloe is a smasher. Is she your darling girl? Whatever, her portrait is now hanging in pride of place in the very important pet gallery.

Maw Here is another of your friends sending get well soon vibes to dear Hattie. We are all very fond of her.

soop Sat 18-Jul-20 13:31:42

Purple Darling girl, I'm so sorry to hear that your friend has to return to hospital. In the circumstances, it's the best place for her to get fluids into her and to have a course of treatment to clear the severe thrush. It's perfectly natural for you to feel tearful. You are a good, kind, caring friend. When our friends hurt then we do too. flowers

Izabella That bone looks delicious. Yum!

Puzzler Such a very kind comment. Thank you. x

Doodle No, Tim is my second son. He is the father of our grandchildren - Kirsty (Mummy of Teddy), Lauren (Mummy of Mila) and Louie. Youngest son, Matt, is Torben's Daddy. Eldest son, Andrew, is Daddy of Hannah, Will and Ethan. Yay! grin

dragonfly I've missed your posts recently. How are you? sunshine

Good afternoon kitcheners. a rather meh day weatherwise. A bit grey, a bit dull and a bit 'spitty'. No matter we are warm and dry. The kitchen here smells of beetroot and chocolate cake and sourdough bread. I shall leave some on the side later.

We awoke at an early hour by the latest brood of fledglings screeching and fussing around. Magpies this time. What noisy individuals. When not performing the military two step on the roof they make great demands on their parents for food.

I follow a gentleman who has a blog and writes about his Alzheimers in a very positive way in an effort to both educate others and document his journey. I often have problems expressing my 'off day' problems and he has managed to scribe his own in a most illuminating and succinct manner. I suppose in our individual ways we are illustrating that in the early days at least, this condition causes much angst and distress to sufferers - (something that is rarely discussed) being replaced by angst and distress for our carers later. A buggeration either way.

I have found a fellow cyclist to go on short jaunts with as CH can't really see where he is going now. I will choose good balance days - but she is an advanced paramedic anyway so.............

Not heard greyduster mentioned lately. TOYA as ever. Keep save everyone. Glad soop is home safe and sound.

dragonfly46 Sat 18-Jul-20 15:30:06

I am okay soop just struggling a bit with PTSD from everything I went through last year. Finding lockdown hard just like everyone else.
I am sure I will find my oomph soon.

Carillion01 Sat 18-Jul-20 16:03:39

dragonfly ?????

soop Sat 18-Jul-20 16:36:39

dragonfly I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling low. Last year was a particularly stressful one. And then Covid came along and nothing has been the same since. All that we can do is hang on in there, do our bit and trust that better times will return. In the meantime, here is last night's sky for you.

Izabella I wish to goodness that I had a fraction of your wonderful way with words. You put my efforts to shame. Keep coming into our kitchen, because we need a taster of your spirit.

soop Sat 18-Jul-20 16:55:05

Log off time in Kintyre. A bright, breezy day. We managed a walk. I've been doing light housework as per your instructions. See, you are good for me.

G&T at nine o'clock. Always a treat. MacS will have a tot of his favourite malt. What's not to like. wink

Until tomorrow...smile moon
