Good morning Mick and all who follow. It's dark and grey sky here in Glasgow, but quite muggy.
Going back on your trips Mick, is something to look forward to.
The tour companies we usually use, have gone into administration, which is such a pity.
DH has been up since the crack of dawn, Ashe is off to play golf. I shall use the time wisely footer about with nothing to show for it. I also plan to deal with the strange quiff which has appeared at the front of my hair! ?
DH and I decided to go for a walk across the field behind our house yesterday, now that I'm allowed out officially for exercise. Big deal, is that the only concession from Nicolaaa?☹️
My neighbour had told me that if I went across the field and cut through the trees, I would find a way into a new housing development, where I could participate in some new home envy.?
What she didn't tell me was that I would encounter rabbit holes, very uneven ground , barbed wire and all manner of things in the former, derelict industrial site. ? At one point we came to an uneven, steep slope, which DH negotiated with ease. I on the other hand, started to gain momentum and couldn't stop myself as I ran down the slope. The last time I ran, was eons ago, when teaching PE! ?
I was screaming at DH for help, who had done his usual thing of marching on without a backward glance.
All I can say, is thank goodness he is well padded, as I cannoned into him. I have not moved that fast in decades!
I had visions of how I was going to explain to the police why I was there and to the ambulance service why this old lady, lying on the ground, complete with walking stick, was trying to negotiate an obstacle course in the middle of a former industrial site.
The next problem was we couldn't find our way out, as the whole site was surrounded by high fencing.☹️ We are walking up and down the perimeter fencing, trying to find an exit.
Eventually I found a tiny gap, in among the trees, which took us out next to the main road and the farm.
For DH, the gap was slightly more problematic, his diet starts today.
It was worth it all for the view. We could see all the way to a Ben Lomond and around, aus the cows and sheep were grazing in the fields.
The new homes were lovely, everything brand, spanking new.
Our home had been a new build thirty years ago, but nowadays the standards and expectations are so much higher.
The walk in the sunshine only took an hour (including frequent stops for me) and we never met a soul, which was much safer for me.
For all my virtual friends, especially those who are finding life hard just now, hang on in there, it will get better. ?
Well that's what I keep telling myself.
Have the best day you can, everyone.
