What do you keep in your loft

I was fed up paying goodness knows how much money every time I moved, around 4 times and paying to move the same junk.

I now have an empty loft. The items were not moved to my garden shed- it is pristine. I am very proud of both- a pity the rest of the house was not clutter free.

Just insulation in mine. It's a fairly new-build. The hatch needs the strength of ten men to open so after much huffing and puffing I gave up. The cupboard under the stairs contains the Christmas tree, various DIY bits and bobs, buckets, and the like.

I detest going up into my loft and so keep as little as possible up there. Unfortunately, the boiler is up there and it'll cost too much for me to have it moved to a more convenient place. Therefore there's only 2 suitcases (rarely used) and the Christmas ornaments box.

I haven’t got a loft but a large walk in cupboard where I have suitcases xmas decorations. Kids buggy. And......a hostess trolley !!! I wheel it out once in a blue moon if doing complicated roast dinner.

I have a few Christmas decorations, an empty suitcase that won’t go through the loft hatch since we installed a folding ladder lol, and numerous boxes of my sons ‘stuff’ that has been there since he moved abroad 10yrs ago.

My books from uni, DH's books from uni (1970s), my children's stuff, my SIL's stuff, Christmas decorations, old records, LPs and singles, suitcases, winter clothes etc, etc.

It is tidy, but we are running out of room! I don't really care about my family having to clear it out when I'm gone. It's mostly theirs anyway! ?

About 10 years ago, I had to empty the loft to get upgraded insulation.
I have never put anything in it since then.

I'm slowly working on reducing clutter in the rest of the house.

No loft

My house is clutter free, my loft is full of clutter.

The Christmas tree, still with the baubles on.
Some DVDs belonging to son no. 1 (about 800 of them)
Old LPs (about 50)
4 suitcases.

I've lived here for 29 years and I've never been in the loft - my husband goes up there when he needs to.

Just 2 large suitcases for any lovely holiday we might get at some point.

We downsized a few years back after 25 years in the same house. It had 2 attics and 3 sheds! You an imagine!!

We had a huge cull, giving AC their stuff - if they didn't want it, it was binned... their turn to store stuff!

In thise house, we have only the Christmas stuff.

Christmas decorations, and of course a Dorian Gray sort of painting which looks ever older as I stay youthful as ever!

suitcases ,christmas stuff and 45 years worth of negative files and digital images, they do take up a lot of room.If CV19 results in our early retirement we might throw them away ....just might ,It always seems so bad to throw away these images of happy times in thousands of lives we quite often get people asking for a print from an event 30 or 40 years ago.I must ask other photographer friends what they've done with files when they retired .

We have two box-rooms where we keep camping equipment and suitcases, Christmas decorations and sewing items.

The two real lofts are empty appart from insulation.

What do I keep in my loft? I wish I knew. I haven't been up there since I moved in almost 20 years ago. I asked someone for a quote for a loft ladder but he seemed to think it wasn't possible. I daren't risk climbing a ladder to get up there, so when one of my DSs or GSs comes to see me, I'll send him up to take stock.

I really don't like going up there any more so it has stayed put for ages.

Full of 15 years worth of clutter but have not a clue what's up there.

I made a list once, but lost it.

We were going to sort this during lockdown but somehow lost the will to do it.

Nothing apart from insulation material. The basement under our bungalow is quite another matter. ?
Toys, 4 sewing machines, an old computer, books, photos, Xmas decorations. Basically, 47 years worth of stuff.
I have had a sort out during lock down and am in the process of selling off some of the toys.
Still got a long way to go.

We had to clear out our loft when we had it insulated and the lagging material went up there. We had a lot of the kids' school work, art stuff and the like from their earliest years, books and old Duplo and a lovely wooden Brio train set, we still have most of all of that, stuffed into various cupboards and the garage, but it would be handy to have the loft space for it.

Mostly DDs stuff, Christmas decorations in boxes, an old computer that we do not know what to do with (any ideas?). I have not been up there in ten years so can only go by what my DH has informed me.

The plan is to make room in our garage and bring it all down, hopefully thinning it at the same time.

Lord knows but we are having more insulation fitted so will find out. I do know there is an awful dinner service of Mum's that she insisted I wanted. I didnt!!

And we do have DH's patient record cards!
