Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like the start of another hot and humid day here in Brackley this morning.
Today , a trip to Buckingham and Bicester on the buses , coffees in both towns .
Return home ,and relax , I only hope this weather breaks to a more enjoyable temperature.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from a misty E Kent. Temperatures predicted to be low 30s. Hate it, makes me grumpy, I drip everywhere, sleep little and am not good company.
Had a weird day with the family as two of the rooms were verboten - DS1 teaching remotely all day in one and DD holding various PCC and other meetings in the other.
Stay safe everyone, hope that those in pain or distress have a tolerable day.

Morning all from a rather damp Espana ?

We knew it was coming so put all our cushions etc away last night before we trotted off to another quiz where we came a close third! Some really clever chaps romped home first by a mile which made us feel particularly stoopid ?

Not a lot planned today especially now weather’s iffy so will loiter on Grans net seeing what your doings are! Stay safe x

Good Morning everyone from Severnside where we have pale clouds with a bit of blue peeping through.

As we have thunder forecast for the next few days I have also put my cushions undercover. I made the covers from a showerproof fabric, they don’t stand a downpour though and I end up with a wet bum?

Off to post my wedding acceptance and a visit to the library to pick up my reserved film which I will watch later.

Have the best day you can all ?

Good morning Mick and all from Worcs. It’s damp out and still very warm.
Yesterday I went to my friend’s house- which is a 40 minute drive in my air conditioned car.
Although she has a pretty garden she had set the table for drinks and then lunch in the conservatory - where this year she has had air conditioning installed. Perfect!
After our usual chat-fest catch-up and salmon quiche and salad for lunch we heard 2 large claps of thunder. Heavy plops of warm rain hit the windows and it stirred me to get moving and drive home - once again in my air conditioned car.
As it was 4 pm by the time I arrived home, I had had the loveliest, cool day.

I hope you are all managing to keep cool too?
And that poorly people like Mr Grammaretto and Mr gillybob are getting plenty of TLC as they recover from their hospital treatments.

Morning Mick and All.

Far too hot for me in South Bucks.

Taking the DGSs to footie training today. How they practise in the hot sun I don’t know.

Hopefully get the 9 year old to the Barbers as he looks like a mini cave man.

Morning everyone. Overcast and muggy here in south Cornwall. 4 year old coming for the day again, making gingerbread sharks (her favourite shaped cutter) methinks today. Yesterday it was unicorn buns, she was so delighted, and handed them out at a family beach barbecue last night. Hip surgeon ringing me this morning, hopefully to get me on the waiting list for a replacement. NHS orthopaedics on the move again, phew. The best day possible to you all...

Good morning Mick and all his followers.
We are in Kent this morning, staying with DD & SiL but we go home today. As others have said, it’s very warm. Looking forward to the air conditioning on our drive home! We have done very little while we have been here but lots of chatting. It’s the first time we have been away in nearly a year.
I have some lovely new plants for the garden too!
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy but still warm Inverness with some rain forecast for later. Yesterday was warm and sunny all day and we had a beautiful day walking in the mountains. The purple heather is just coming out and the scenery was amazing. We had planned another day out today but not sure where yet as the rain seems to be on its way☔️
Hope everyone has the best day possible and finds something lovely to enjoy. Take care all whatever the day brings ?

Good morning from a cloudy Kent, but, like yesterday, I think it is going to be another scorcher later.
Yesterday we went school shoe shopping for DGD1, came back for lunch and spent the afternoon partly in the garden and partly indoors.
DGD2 tripped and caught the side of her head on the corner of a small side table. Luckily only a small cut and bruise, could have been so much worse.
This morning my daughter has arranged for someone to come and give us a pedicure, I need to decide on a colour for my toe nails.
Not sure what we will be doing this afternoon.
Have a lovely day everyone and stay safe xx

Morning all from a very cloudy North Leicestershire. There are thunderstorms in our forecast.

It's my friend's birthday today so I am going for a brew at her house and to the charity shop this afternoon - at long last - to drop stuff off. And to the market which is held weekly in a pub car park in the next village.

Sending love and hugs to everyone who needs them.

Good Morning Mick and all. It is overcast here on the S Welsh coast. Yesterday was dry for us but there were storms further west, the sky darkened quite dramatically about 11 am and we could hear thunder in the distance. Picked a load of tomatoes from the garden and will make a sauce for pasta, there will be plenty to freeze. The fish man calls every Tuesday and I think I'll get some sea bass for supper.
Take care everyone, stay safe.

gillybob Tue 11-Aug-20 07:20:29

Good morning from the NE coast where we have another day of unpredictable weather ahead . Heavy rain on and off yesterday and feeling decidedly cold later in the afternoon. Summer was officially cancelled in these parts .

I’m off to work for an early start as I have little miss Evie Buttons for a few hours later .

My little grandson is gutted as his footy camp has been cancelled after we struggled so hard at the last minute to get the money together for him to go .

Thinking of all our missing friends and hoping to see them back posting very soon.

Have as good a Tuesday as possible everyone (my second worst day of the week) .....oh to have something, anything to look forward to .

Love Gillybob xx

Puzzler61 Tue 11-Aug-20 07:25:49

Awww what a blooming disappointment for your grandson gillybob ?

Grandmabatty Tue 11-Aug-20 07:41:17

Good morning All from a wet Polmont. I have my second stint of babysitting today so grandma's toy shop will be set up shortly! I hope it clears up later so I can take him out in the buggy for a walk. Have a good day all.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 11-Aug-20 07:42:21

Good morning Mick and all

Overcast here in S E Essex hot and humid, took cushions in last night in case the rain arrived.

I melted at the gym yesterday, I must have lost a few pounds???

Have 5yr old and 7month old today as DD is working, so no doubt he will want to swim which is fine unless we have lightening!!! ⚡️⚡️

Your GS must be so disappointed gillybob I wonder why they cancelled?

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️

Gelisajams Tue 11-Aug-20 07:43:13

Good morning from a still warm and humid Morecambe Bay. DH is out running hopefully before another thunderstorm kicks in. We had quite a few over the course of the night.
It’s DH’s birthday today but we don’t have anything planned. In fact we could do with gardening but I’m not sure the weather will be kind. I haven’t been in shops so I’ve got nothing for him not even a card! He was talking about some new fangled music machine to store his enormous cd collection, but when he looked into it he decided he would stick with his stereo.
Take care and stay safe everyone ?

Puzzler61 Tue 11-Aug-20 07:50:02

Happy Birthday to Mr Gelisajams ? ? ? ?

Taichinan Tue 11-Aug-20 07:51:56

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It's a grey day here on the Angus coast, and very still. We haven't had the excessive heat that so many of you are struggling with, and we very rarely have thunder - which suits me! Yesterday was my check-up at the dentist which was a very different experience. When you get there you phone to say you have arrived and then wait under a gazebo in the courtyard until one of the girls comes to escort you in. Very efficient, but if this regime is still in force for my next check-up in February, I hope they will have found a way to heat the courtyard! Schools go back here tomorrow which will be so wonderful for the children. I think in future I shall have to deny myself hugs from the girls though until we see what sort of Covid spike this will produce. Anyway, no plans for today, which is a bit boring! Take care of yourselves in all that heat ??

gillybob Tue 11-Aug-20 07:52:28

To Grannygravy . Thank you for asking. The footy camp is a joint effort between some junior teams in the North of England and some from the South of Scotland (just over the border) and the Scottish teams have pulled out (or been told they cannot attend....not sure which) due to Covid. Therefore the organisers have decided to cancel. Such a shame that he didn’t expect to go and then had this last minute chance where we scrambled the money together. He was so excited and even had his bag packed ready. There will be a lot of very disappointed children .

gillybob Tue 11-Aug-20 07:54:02

Happy Birthday to Mr Gelisajams ?

Greyduster Tue 11-Aug-20 07:54:59

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. North Cornwall is shrouded in heavy mist. We are all ready and packed to go home after breakfast and goodness knows what weather we are going to get on the way back to Yorkshire but I hope it’s not too bad. We’ve loved the sun, the sand and the sea, but we’re ready for home. Hopefully, travelling mid week as we did coming down should be less problematic with regard to traffic (touches wood!). The family will be here until Friday. Have the best day you can folks.

Nortsat Tue 11-Aug-20 08:01:05

Morning Mick and the GM team from a warm east London.
I have been in the garden, feeding the birds and the temperature was a joy. Yesterday’s heat was hard work and I didn’t do my exercise...

We ate our supper in the garden last night and at about 8.00pm the temperature was very pleasant.

Oh, Puzzler lunch in an air conditioned conservatory....
Gilly so sorry to hear your DGS’s football camp was cancelled.

I have two punnets of hard peaches from my grocery delivery, I will need to think about what to do with them... ( as I am shielding, I have little to say and my posts are descending into the most banal epistles - they are nearly as banal as my life, at the moment. Hey ho, that’s my moan over for today? ).

Have a good day all. Good wishes to Dragonfly, Bluesapphire, Purplepixie. I am not including Cherry because I have seen a couple of posts from her, so I am hoping that’s a sign she’s feeling better.?
? for those who need them.

Taichinan Tue 11-Aug-20 08:02:55

Such a shame about the footy camp Gillybob. I think it must have been set up in a lot of hope rather than expectation because nothing like that had been permitted in Scotland yet. But it's such a huge disappointment for all the kids. Maybe something can be organised for just your side of the border? I do hope so.

Urmstongran Tue 11-Aug-20 08:06:48

Good morning everyone from Malaga where it’s sunny ? although we had rain in the night. It was so humid yesterday teatime. Sunrise is now around 7:30am and it was still dark when I got up - the street lights were still on at 7am. Such a difference already from the beginning of June - I can feel we are slipping into autumn. The buying of new school shoes just confirms it Sar53!

My sister and her husband are emigrating over here and arrive in Estapona this weekend. The removal van sets off from the U.K. this afternoon so it’s real now! She texted me to say she had 36 boxes to transport plus some large items of furniture. She hopes everything will fit in the van! She got rid of 500 CDs last week Gelisajam - she’s decided to use the Sonos or Spotify instead now in their retirement years.

A personal trainer sounds wonderful GG13 just the kind of motivation I could do with! I can imagine your discomfort though yesterday, exercising in the humidity. What was that saying - horses sweat, men perspire and ladies glow?

Tuesday = my ladies who wine afternoon. Yay! ??? we will have lots to talk about today as there’s a lot going on in our lives (good things thankfully) at present.

Hope Tuesday is kind to us all and you get confirmation of that big order this week gillybob. Keep safe everyone that’s the main thing. X
