Good Morning Everyone,
Its looking like the start of another hot and humid day here in Brackley this morning.
Today , a trip to Buckingham and Bicester on the buses , coffees in both towns .
Return home ,and relax , I only hope this weather breaks to a more enjoyable temperature.
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning.

It's a rather grey, dull morning here today and looks as if it could rain at any moment. We are meant to be having sunny intervals, but no one seems to have told the sun that!

I'm hoping it stays dry until I've been to the hairdressers later this morning, though knowing my luck, it will rain.

Not a lot else planned for today, though my friend might call round this afternoon if it remains dry so we can do our social distancing! ?

A shock indeed, susan and worrying for you, but fingers crossed for next week.

Love the heat. I am as brown as I am when we get back from Greece every year. Much cheaper too!

Good morning everyone from a grey skies Glasgow with thunderstorms forecast for later.

We had a FaceTime chat with DD and the girls yesterday afternoon. GD1 will be going back to school on Thursday then off on Friday. GD2 starts back on Friday. Both girls are longing to go back but also concerned that this will change their visits to us and no more cuddles from GD2. I could have wept listening to what they have to worry about instead of their usual excitement at meeting up with all their friends again.

An at home leisurely day today then with plenty options to occupy me and a FaceTime chat with DD2 in Australia to look forward to.

Have a good day all and a better one for those who are struggling.

Good Morning all from cloudy - Hey some sun is appearing - Harrogate. Happy birthday Mr Gelisajams! I hope your future gets brighter Gillybob, it's always good to have something bright round the corner to look forward to. I have no idea what I am doing for the rest of the day, apart hanging the washing out, making lunch, walking the dog, making an afternoon cuppa then the evening meal - Oh must remember to do my Asda shopping list!!

Good morning everyone. It's a warm 21° outside in Gower today.

Lins I too heard that thunder yesterday, it must have been a huge storm somewhere because it was further west than we are.

Happy Birthday to Mr Gelisajam, whatever you do have a lovely day ? ??

I know that feeling well Nortsat. I have to shield until the 16th anyway and it has been recommended that I continue to shield until I see my consultant on the 1st September ?

Marydoll any chance for a bit of socialising and a chinwag ?. I'm the same normally, though I haven't felt my usual sociable self for a few weeks
Yes I see what you mean about your son - a fine strong figure of a man ☺️.
Thanks for sharing the wedding photos ?. The garden really does look amazing and your DD looks (dare I say for a grown woman) so cute. You all have a second occasion to enjoy when your beautiful DD wears that fabulous dress ?.

gillybob, what a cruel thing to have done to all the children to cancel the football camp. I feel for your GS, packed and excited and cruelly disappointed. I also know that it wasn't easy, as you told us prior, to manage to get the money together for it which is a kick in the teeth really. I bet other families were in the same boat but wanted their child to have something to enjoy, especially in this bizarre time we are living in.
I hope Mr gillybob is recovering well.

That must have been a big worry Susan and I'm sure that whilst little Henry is unable to take his medication until he has his tests next week it will continue to be a worry. I hope he doesn't have anymore set backs until then, I know your DD and all the family will be as vigilant as possible and give him lots of TLC. Easier said than done but try not to worry ???

I hope Mr Grammaretto is improving and getting stronger.

Thinking of BlueSapphire and dragonfly ? ?

Be kind to yourselves everyone ❤️

Oh my brain cell ?

I meant to say that I hope that Mr Harrigran's CT scan goes well.

Good to see you posting Ellen.

I really love that garden wedding. There's something " back to nature " about it as well as the natural feel. So beautiful.

What a fine figure of a man that son of yours is Marydoll.

Nortsat
I have two punnets of hard peaches from my grocery delivery, I will need to think about what to do with them

Let them ripen . (Just) in the fruit bowl then transfer to the fridge ..where they will keep.
As an alternative to just eating as they come, try slicing the peaches in half ( horizontally ) then in a small bowl mixing up a dessert spoon of brown sugar, the same of honey or maple syrup, a tbsp of olive oil (yes) a 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and a half tsp of vanilla essence. Put the peach halves (stones removed) cut side up in an ovenproof dish, pour the mix over making sure go fill each peach, glug a slosh of white round them and bake uncovered at 160 fan for about 25-30 minutes.
Serve with a dollop of creme fraiche or ice cream in each half.
I reckon on two halves per person but it depends how greedy they are!

Welcome back EV good to hear from you, enjoy your Welsh lamb chops, yum.
I've got my fingers crossed for Henry Susan I'm sure he will be fine, you need eyes in the back of your head don't you.

Marydoll I inject myself every day so I feel for you. However I know it is for the best so that helps, thinking of you, we WILL get there xx

Nortsat Tue 11-Aug-20 12:52:38

Popped back to thank Grandmafrench and MawB for the lovely suggestions to deal with the hard peaches. That’s now my plan for this evening ...

Thank you for the good wishes from my fellow shielders Maryd and Cherry in response to my carping and moaning. ?
