Me neither! grin

It's been nigh on impossible to avoid comments and opinions in the media but I do agree that if Harry and Meghan have not colluded with the authors why aren't they suing the pants off them?

I love a bit of royal goss. But I don't feel I have to buy the book because it is on all media platforms, the times etc etc. I could repeat it for an exam! If they want to be private well why do they keep doing things in the public eye for publicity?

What an embarrassment they are to the UK. Any Americans on here who can tell us how they're viewed in the US?

maddyone Mon 17-Aug-20 17:13:28

I think that would be interesting Peardrop.

Daddima Mon 17-Aug-20 17:16:34

I haven’t seen any of the excerpts, but I would read them. I watched a pre-wedding programme about them on Channel 5 the other day, and did laugh at how they were all fawning over Meghan, who was, of course, a ‘breath of fresh air’, and the ‘ face of the modern monarchy’. I think one person ( might have been James Whitaker) was the only one who said he could see them going to America!

Having seen the pictures of the house and estate they are 'buying', Meghan was never going to be content living in a cottage; her sights were set on Windsor Castle, apparently. One wonders: where do these delusions of grandeur come from?

Stand by, a co author of this book has said - - - -

‘Harry is on a journey and at some point I think we will really
hear him talk about that journey but he is not there yet ‘

Another book ?

Callistemon Mon 17-Aug-20 23:43:23

Is he finding himself?

Callistemon Mon 17-Aug-20 23:44:02

Mind you, with 16 bathrooms it could be quite easy to lose oneself.

Namsnanny Tue 18-Aug-20 10:08:42

Well, he is going to have to do something to get out from under Meghans shadow.

maddyone Tue 18-Aug-20 10:29:01

Everything that is in the book that has been released appears to point to a very difficult situation for Harry. It also points to what I had already thought, that Meghan is a very dominant person who is extremely selfish and a social climber. If what has been suggested is true, it also suggests Harry has been very spoiled and indulged leading to some of his petulant behaviour and the scowling face we’ve seen recently.
Of course, none of it may be true, but if that was the case, I’d expect them to sue the authors, due to the fact they’ve sued anyone else that published anything about them that they didn’t like.

maddyone Tue 18-Aug-20 10:34:07

I also feel very sorry for baby Archie, because whilst he is obviously cared for and all his physical needs met, it seems to be that he has been brought up in a sterile environment, lacking outdoor outings and socialisation. The only people he sees are adults, his parents and grandmother, and any staff H+M have in the house. He has lived in several houses, and has not had time in any of them to really become familiar with them and feel as if the house is where he belongs.

I haven’t read it, I won’t be reading it and I scroll past the news items and discussions. I only read this post because I wanted to know what book it was referring to.

annsixty Tue 18-Aug-20 10:35:27

It was reported that Meghan and Harry criticised the Cambridge’s for having live in staff, they wanted to be just the three of them , no cook or housekeeper and only a daily nanny.
They are going to be kept very busy looking after that mansion by themselves, unless of course that is why her mother has moved in, a “home help”?

Callistemon Tue 18-Aug-20 10:39:18

They'll need someone full time for all those bathrooms. I wonder if they'll use them all in turn just to ensure a flow of water?

Ellianne Tue 18-Aug-20 10:44:15

I really don't think Harry is doing himself any favours. He is becoming a second rate celebrity and is lower now than some very dubious people on the celebrity scene. He chose to leave the royal family where he was top dog, whether he will ever establish another such important role for himself remains to be seen. The book sounds as though it is full of some very petulant whingeing.

merlotgran Tue 18-Aug-20 10:54:44

'A source' has now claimed that Prince Harry respects the Queen far too much to have lost patience with her over 'Tiaragate,' calling Omid Scobie's allegations in the book as completely ridiculous.

Whatever really happened, somebody is telling lies and the authors should be called upon to name their sources.

It's odd that some journalists daren't squeak about H&M for fear of litigation whereas Meghan's mouthpiece is untouchable?

Things can only get messier.

EllanVannin Tue 18-Aug-20 10:55:29

Left to their own devices, these Royals are no different from us mere mortals , except richer but that's all !
Same as so-called celebrities, common as many of them are, you can't polish a t++d !

Those are my thoughts and always have been.

quizqueen Tue 18-Aug-20 11:00:32

If I see it lying around free somewhere I will read it for a laugh, but most of it has been published in the press anyway. The Queen must be so sad, it's come to this at the end of reign. I can only imagine what her mother would have said, having been through similar once before. I don't think history will treat H and M well.

Rosalyn69 Tue 18-Aug-20 11:13:19

I read the Lady Colin Campbell one. I’m now over it. A dreadful couple. I’d cross the road to avoid them.

Anniebach Tue 18-Aug-20 11:15:59

I am reading Lady Colin Campbell’s book, she writes of the
childhood of Meg and Harry, the control the Queen mother had over Charles and Diana spoilt Harry.

Apparently H&M are pitching a top secret project to network executives. They intend to serve as joint producers.

Top Secret is Sussex speak for, 'You'll soon be hearing all about it!' grin

Chewbacca Tue 18-Aug-20 18:38:04

Top secret? grin They don't the meaning of it!

Sparklefizz Tue 18-Aug-20 19:01:27

H&M have zero experience of being producers! What could possibly go wrong?

welbeck Tue 18-Aug-20 19:03:27

they could have resided in a perfectly fitting grand apartment in kensington palace, well placed, with security, open space etc but they couldn't get on with the neighbours...

Sunny82z Wed 19-Aug-20 21:09:24

Why can't they both shut up and go away and get on with doing something actually useful. I hear there are plans when quarantine is lifted for them to come back to the UK to attend to their charities.........oh please no.
