I hope he does do a runner but I doubt he'd leave Archie. She's really got him trapped, poor man.

I suspect that was her intention all along. I hope he doesn’t dig himself in further by having another child. I don’t think she’ll agree to have any more children, so I’ll be surprised if they do. I feel sorry for Archie, he has absolutely nothing that even approaches a normal life. If Harry thinks hiding Archie behind expensive doors is protecting him, well he’s wrong. Children need to go and about and see things. Just ordinary things like other people, cars, shops, countryside. He could have been taken out for walks even during lockdown, like other babies were.

Is anyone else concerned seeing William, Kate and the children heading off on holiday in one helicopter? I was just working it out, that if Charles died and also all the Cambridges together in an accident, who would we be left with?

There is no doubt that Meghan is inching her way into politics and is now relating to Michelle Obama having ditched Jessica Mulroney. Very astute to replace fancy frocks with more weighty issues when you've got to earn your own crust.

I don't have a problem with that. She could do a lot of good just as long as she doesn't piggy back her ambitions on to her royal connections in order to support her 'platform.'

Where would Harry stand though? He may have 'stepped back' from royal duties but up until now his only contribution to politics has been rudely scowling at Trump during an official function - bad form when the Queen is the host.

Very true merlot, but if Meghan wants to get into politics, then in my opinion she should give up her title of Duchess of Sussex. Apparently America doesn’t recognise titles anyway, but she’s trading on her title. Would the American people have cared less what a minor actress who was living in Canada thought about politics in the USA? She’s using her ‘fame’ to further her own interests politically.

What a very calculating person she appears to be now that we are seeing her away from her perceived place in the royal family.

'This girl' (as William apparently called her to the chagrin of Harry) has huge ambitions, and an ego to match. I think she will work hard to fulfil them.
Harry may be happy being her wing man, part of a team effort.

Yes she is, maddyone. She is dipping a toe. I don't think she will relinquish her title until she absolutely has to and then of course there will be all the treacly hand on heart sorrow and self sacrifice to witness.

I noticed yesterday in their video call with Queen's Commonwealth Trust leaders that Meghan admitted that she'd never heard of the Commonwealth until she married Harry.

Fair enough but having enthusiastically embraced it in the early days she and Harry then criticised it with a preachy lecture on how it must 'move forward.'

Now they are doing a bit of a U turn (did Charles rap their knuckles?) and are describing continuing the legacy as an honour.

I noticed that Meghan referred to the Queen as 'your grandmother' to Harry. Even Princess Anne refers to the Queen as Her Majesty when being interviewed. Yes, I know Harry said, 'My grandmother' but he didn't look at all comfortable.

Harry looks like a cross between bored stiff and waiting for a bolt of lightning to descend.

If Prince Harry ever does become king, thankfully highly unlikely, then I think he would be the most unpopular monarch for a very long time, and the situation would lead to massive calls for ending the monarchy. It would be a very destabilising situation for the UK.
And if people thought Camilla was an unsuitable Queen Consort, it would be as nothing compared to the possibility of Meghan as Queen Consort.
Actually I think the public are much more accepting of Camilla now though.

Feel so sad for Harry. At some point he is going to realise what a huge mistake he made in trusting Meghan, and regret what he has left behind. Sadly I doubt if he will be able to extricate himself, especially as he now has a son.

I agree merlotgran, the "your grandmother" comment was very odd and disrespectful. It's almost as though she has written off the Queen as past it, she kept referring to his grandmother's "legacy".

To me the 'your grandmother' words were her way of reinforcing Harry's relationship to the Queen. It emphasises the fact that he is royal and, therefore, she is as well. All helps to build their brand with a guillible public.

The point about MM is that she was an actress, a fairly mediocre one, and although she voiced quasi-political opinions they were random and more concerned with promoting MM's charitable concerns, good for publicity.. She is not and never will be an Emma Thompson, Maxine Peake or Emma Watson, and certainly not a Michelle Obama, (who also gained a public platform through her marriage.)
The recent attempts at self-promotion smack increasingly of desperation, as H & M begin realise the need for a very large income to support MM's totally unrealistic ambitions.
The reference to the Queen as Grandmother hints at a republican attitude, which may please Americans, but H should take care that he doesn't offend his father, who will continue to control the purse strings.

If I were Harry I would turn round to Megan and say, "Your Majesty, to you. Learn to grovel a bit!"

Would she want to known as President the Duchess of Sussex,
President Markle, or President Mountbatten Windsor?
She should be getting her mind around this in plenty of time.
