A sad day maw, sending love.

GrannySomerset Tue 06-Oct-20 08:52:56

Having rained heavily overnight we have temporary sunshine - if the forecast is to be believed. Apart from visit by wonderful cleaner no plans though I need to summon up the energy to at least pay some bills if nothing else. Think I must stop engaging with the news because it is clearly depressing me. Back to one bulletin a day I think.

Thinking of all our posters who are up against it, especially Gilly. It would be good to get some news of her.

GrannySomerset Tue 06-Oct-20 08:53:35

Sorry - wrong thread! Should out my glasses on before posting!

Puzzler61 Tue 06-Oct-20 09:37:29

I have no words Maw ? TOY.

Susan56 Tue 06-Oct-20 09:43:53

Thinking of you maw?

Izabella Tue 06-Oct-20 09:49:34

Maw my all enveloping, shimmering and comforting virtual cloak is on its way. I know the sorrow dims - but it never goes away.

So, a good morning from a glittering Shire, where shafts of sunlight are highlighting the autumnal leaf colours. Totally calming and magical.

An update on the marathon. My balance is not too good at times so I have had to break down my runs into 5K sessions which is manageable. Any further and I begin to look like a gin sozzled older person in lycra . As long as I do the mileage in a time frame I qualify, so I shall just keep niggling away at it. CH is being extremely supportive, fielding enquiries (albeit in two pair of glasses plus a headgear magnifier that makes him look like an extra terrestrial) and sternly telling me to stop when the wobbles start! Incidentally, still no date for his eye operation.

We have realised there is no way of knowing anonymous supporters of the cause, as Just Giving do not let us know the identity of folks - so we have to shout out a huge and collective thank you to everyone. ( I was looking for a megaphone emoji but can't seem to remember how to do it atm.

I hope the sun continues to shine and its rays broaden out to all in the kitchen. TOYA

MawB I have no words. Please know that I'm thinking of you and your little one. ?

Doodle Tue 06-Oct-20 10:17:53

maw I can’t imagine how awful it is to lose a child. Thinking of you and all those who have been through such pain flowers ?

Alygran Tue 06-Oct-20 10:54:05

Thinking of you Maw flowers

soop Tue 06-Oct-20 13:01:53

Dear Maw, all that I can offer you is my love. I and your Granspal friends feel your pain. flowers sunshine

soop Tue 06-Oct-20 13:02:53

Izabella You, my dear lady, are quite wonderful.

soop Tue 06-Oct-20 13:11:56

Susan Enjoy every moment of the time you spend with "our" lovely precious wee boy.

Galen Tyke! Get baking, and treat those dear men with ongoing tender care.

Grandmafrench Your posts are always supportive. Thank you.

I am going to relax for the rest of the day. Tennis and, maybe, a little ironing mid afternoon.

Our neighbours have delivered flowers, chocolates and card as a belated anniversary gift. Such kind people are to be treasured.

soop Tue 06-Oct-20 13:13:21

If I could, I would share the box of chocolates with you. Pity that I cannot. wink

soop Tue 06-Oct-20 13:29:30

Maw has asked me to share a message with you. She has been suspended for a wee while. I have no idea why. She feels depressed and I can understand why she's dismayed. I have NEVER found her posts to be annoying in any way, shape or form. She has always been supportive of us lot in the kitchen. I happen to enjoy her company. Please may this be dealt with swiftly and fairly. We want her back in the kitchen. Please.

Puzzler61 Tue 06-Oct-20 13:35:57

Not surprised if Maw is depressed soop it’s most unfeeling to do it on this day in particular.
She is sad enough ?

annodomini Tue 06-Oct-20 14:04:37

Love and sympathy to Maw. It's a poignant anniversary for her. I won't comment on her suspension apart from saying that I made my opinion clear on a thread that was subsequently deleted.
Sunshine and showers here. We've just had vertical rain with sunbeams through it. It's colder inside than out so the heating is on again. I searched for my gloves this morning and found three full pairs and one single. I think my hands are feeling the cold more than they once did - that's old age for you!

kittylester Tue 06-Oct-20 14:07:35

I'm sending love to maw too. I expect she knows we all are.

FannyCornforth Tue 06-Oct-20 14:08:10

Oh no! That's awful! We'd just become friends!
Please soop, if you can, give her my best wishes.

Puzzler61 Tue 06-Oct-20 14:39:37

Charleygirl and phoenix will be unable to join us for a week too. Similar reason to MawB2. ?
Charley asked me to let the kitcheners know soop.

Grandmabatty Tue 06-Oct-20 14:44:52

Soop it seems unfair that these lovely ladies have been suspended while others who say unpleasant things aren't. I'll say no more but ? to MawB, Charleygirl and Phoenix who have been very kind to me, a relative newcomer.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 06-Oct-20 14:47:53

I am not venturing out of the kitchen for a while

Lisagran Tue 06-Oct-20 14:51:57

And meanwhile, newer posters continue to post angry

Lins1066 Tue 06-Oct-20 14:57:49

Sending you my love and best wishes Maw, I'm thinking of you ?
I recently received a very kind and supportive pm from Maw at a time when I was very down. I appreciated this very much and told her so. This thread and others will be much the poorer without her. Please add my love and best wishes too soop

I have been to the osteoporosis clinic this morning. I am already having daily injections and the registrar wants me to have additional six monthly injections of Denosumab. The lady registrar was very thorough, very down to earth and took time to explain everything. I agreed to have them and five minutes later I had the injection. All very organised and I feel very grateful to the NHS.
Thinking of annsixty and hope everything goes well for her. Hope you feel better soon soop.
TOYA

Lins1066 Tue 06-Oct-20 15:02:35

My love and best wishes to * Charley and Phoenix* too.
The world's gone mad lately.

annsixty Tue 06-Oct-20 15:13:07

Thank you Lins
All is still on track here for Friday.
I have been to the hospital this morning for final bloods and a Covid test.
I have gel to put up my nose three times a day and a wash solution to use in the shower each day until I go in.
Tomorrow and Friday I must wash my hair with it.
I’m not keen on that, however needs must, MRSA is bad with joint replacement.
Rather sad the way GN is going but really it is the way of everything these days, people are very different in their behaviour due to stress.
My GD who deals with the public nearly gave her job up last week due to irate and very unpleasant people.
Her manager has moved her to another division temporarily, I just pray that things get back to normal some day soon, but I doubt things will ever be the same again.
