Oops! Sorry to have kept you waiting on the new doorstep. Come on in and let's celebrate our new kitchen. grin

Lisagran

And meanwhile, newer posters continue to post angry

I genuinely hope that you aren't referring to me.

kittylester Tue 06-Oct-20 15:24:13

I don't think she is fanny and I think we all know the posters Lisa is referring too.

It's very sad that that they have disrupted what was a largely harmonious group of people. I suspect it was their intention. sad

FannyCornforth Tue 06-Oct-20 15:30:36

Ok, thank you Kitty.
How bizarre and sad.

FannyCornforth Tue 06-Oct-20 15:31:07

And sorry Lisa if I misunderstood.

Lisagran Tue 06-Oct-20 15:39:03

No, not you, Fanny - sorry - I didn’t want to be specific in case I got the cane too

Lisagran Tue 06-Oct-20 15:40:44

Apologies to you too, Soop, encroaching on your lovely thread. Your kitchen is always a haven. I read, but never post here - but you have lovely cakes, sunsets and evident kindness.

FannyCornforth Tue 06-Oct-20 16:07:49

Thank you Lisa flowers

GrannyGravy13 Tue 06-Oct-20 17:04:24

Some autumnal hallowe’en flowers for the kitchen (the witch is not modelled on me)??

FannyCornforth Tue 06-Oct-20 17:06:40

Lovely orange roses grannygravy

As far as I'm aware, we haven't had bad tempered stuff happen in any of our kitchens. Of which there have been many. I like it that way. I imagine all our Granspals do. What's the point of making anyone's life miserable? Pointless! Every day we are dealing with matters that we'd sooner dismiss. Life is hardly fair for all of us all of the time. Bad stuff happens. The point of the kitchen is for the sharing of the good, bad and in between times. Kindness costs nothing.
Whatever the reasons for whatever is casting gloom (beyond Covid and Brexit) please can we wipe the slate clean and start afresh?

I am feeling tired. I shall therefore watch Schwartzman and Thiem bash a tennis ball around the clay court. They are super turbo-charged athletes.

Until tomorrow. smile moon

I've had a lovely day with the boy today. Unsolicited kisses from a 20 month old baby are wonderful. I've also taught him to count to three! And the way he says 1,2,3 melts my heart. So today has been a good one. Dry weather, cool but not freezing and the leaves gently falling from trees. I'm making smoked haddock fishcakes for tea. As Scarlet O'Hara said, "tomorrow is another day." My best to you all.

Grandmafrench Tue 06-Oct-20 18:59:56

Very well done and just keep on going, Izabella - ably assisted by your CH doing the organisational stuff behind his triple glazing grin. Hope he soon gets a hospital date.

It's all happening, at last Ann. I hate the anti infection solution too, used in France forever. However, not everyone is so fussy about personal hygiene and if it helps to reduce worry and keep you safe - well, no matter. Take special care until Friday.

Get all the help you can/need, Lins. You need your health and to be pain-free if possible. Life won't always be like this, will it?

Hold tight to your memories Maw and be thrilled that you both met him.

You do have lots of fans friends, soop beating a path to your door. Sit down comfortably and enjoy all that adulation.

I'm saying nothing much about the M/P/C debacle except that sometimes, even when people get it so wrong, if there's nothing that you can do then you really mustn't care. You're so very much better than that xxx

Hugs to you all

cornergran Tue 06-Oct-20 19:26:04

Nearly there ann, everything crossed for you here.

I’m sad our friends won’t be with us for a while, I truly don’t understand thr background and am amazed at the outcome.

That sounds a positive hospital experience, lins, I’m delighted for you

It’s been falling down here today. Fields are flooded as are some roads. All a bit miserable as am I. It will pass, just a heavy day. With luck we can see the family at the weekend so something good to look forward to.

Good luck Izabella, pace yourself and please take care. TOYA: look after yourselves everyone.

I have never been best of friends with Maw, but if you are reading this, I'm really truly sorry for your loss and would like to wish you all the best. flowers

I feel really upset that three such lovely ladies have been suspended.

Maw and Charley have both been very supportive to me, as have many other kitcheners especially during our illness last winter and during the last six months when Henry was so unwell.

Please pass on my good wishes to them.Like others it will be the kitchen and the good morning thread only for a while.

Ann,so pleased your operation is still on for Friday.A lot of preparation but well worth it if it means you will be home infection free as soon as possible.

Lovely flowers soop.It is good to be reminded of people’s kindness especially on a day when our good friends have been treated so badly.

TOYA

Charleygirl and phoenix will be unable to join us for a week too. Similar reason to MawB2. ?

I am really shocked that popular posters who have been on GN from early days (perhaps even from the beginning?) have been suspended.

There is no rhyme or reason just lately.

kittylester Tue 06-Oct-20 22:16:19

I agree callistemon. This is a sad day and I, for one, am not sure I want to be part of this any more.

Hellogirl1 Tue 06-Oct-20 22:19:25

MawB xxx
Also best wishes to Phoenix and CharleyG

Doodle Tue 06-Oct-20 22:21:22

soop’s kitchen is not the place for any kind of unpleasantness but I will just say I think Maw Charleygirl and Phoenix have been treated unfairly. If they are able to read this I sincerely hope you are all back with us soon. GN is a much poorer place without you.
Calliestemon I totally agree with you. There is certainly no rhyme nor reason to what happened on a certain thread yesterday.

lemongrove Tue 06-Oct-20 22:59:42

I want to echo Doodle’s comments.I don’t venture into Soops Kitchen much these days ( running The Argy Bargy Bar takes all my energy) but if Maw, Phoenix and Charley are reading this thread, I hope they will pop into the bar for a much needed tipple as soon as they can.?
Having not been all that well this week, I have missed seeing exactly what happened, but can certainly guess.?
We shall welcome them back for cake and poteen asap.

Callistemon Tue 06-Oct-20 23:04:42

I hope you feel better soon, lemongrove

Stay off the poteen! Cake is good, though ??

Doodle Tue 06-Oct-20 23:04:44

lemon sorry you’ve been feeling poorly. Hope you feel better soon .

lemongrove Tue 06-Oct-20 23:09:15

Thanks ? ( and to top off a lousy week, DH had to have a Covid test yesterday.) Am sure it isn’t, but we have to be sure.

Doodle Tue 06-Oct-20 23:14:57

Oh no. Hope he’s ok.

cornergran Tue 06-Oct-20 23:19:02

That’s worrying lemongroce, there’s been a bit of that in family and close friends so I do understand. Look after yourself as you can. Hoping for a positive outcome
