Susan, I'm so sorry to hear of your troubles, it's been such a difficult year for you. Your poor daughter, no wonder you are so upset.
Hopefully, once she is getting the antibiotics, things will improve. You must be exhausted, but you will find the strength to get through it. That's what we mum's do.? Take care.

Susan56 Fri 23-Oct-20 06:35:10

Thought things were calming down here but no.Our daughter has been taken into hospital with some kind of infection at 1 this morning. On IV fluids and antibiotics.Luckily we have Matilda here with us.Henry is still breastfed but obviously can’t be with her.Normally would think she is in the best place but not at the moment. So worried about her.

So pleased Mac is home safely and wonderful you have a date for your op soop.
Turned out to be a busy day after all so I will say night night.

Nannytopsy Thu 22-Oct-20 22:28:47

Good news Soop and glad to hear that McS is home safely.
My baby is 34 today - where did those years go??
DS & DiL belatedly realised tomorrow is an INSET day - we are on child care suddenly! Trying to think of sitting down tasks tomorrow as I still have trouble with my knee.
Sleep well everyone!

Hellogirl1 Thu 22-Oct-20 22:04:41

I`m so pleased that MacS is home safe and sound, you can relax now Soop. Thrilled for YOU as well, now that you`ve been given a date for your surgery. All the best to you both.

Doodle Thu 22-Oct-20 21:05:47

Thank goodness he’s home safely soop . You can relax a bit now, Good news about your op too.
Now Kitty you know you shouldn’t say you don’t like something without trying it . You are cordially invited (see we know how to do things proper in the Argy) to attend an evening soirée at the Old Argee Bargee in honour of the release of the Doghouse 4 . I will save you a seat Kitty and I expect to see you there with Oliver sprout (who pops in on his own sometimes when you’re not looking) . All are welcome.

I read this lovely thread regularly but post rarely- however just needed to pass on my good wishes to soop and McS regarding today. A g+t hopefully imbibed by both. No food to offer tonight, so sorry, but have left a ‘wee dram’ as my lovely FIL would’ve said, on the side...enjoy!

cornergran Thu 22-Oct-20 19:12:40

Delighted macs is back safe and sound soop, equally delighted about your own news. Must be a huge relief.

Susan56 Thu 22-Oct-20 17:56:48

Grandmafrench ?

annodomini Thu 22-Oct-20 17:54:00

Good news, soop. ? The waiting is the worst part. Hopefully, MacS will soon receive a favourable verdict from his consultant.

Puzzler61 Thu 22-Oct-20 17:44:29

So much news in one say, and it’s all looking positive soop.
Relax and rest with your dear man this evening and sip a G&T at 9 pm for a night cap.

Mmm, a helpful spirit Grandmabatty. ?

Grandmafrench you are right. We all need designated worry-free evenings and days sometimes.

soop Thu 22-Oct-20 17:26:14

GrannyGravy13 Thu 22-Oct-20 17:22:50

Good news about your op soop pleased your Mr is home safe and sound ?‍♀️

Grandmafrench Thu 22-Oct-20 17:19:29

Grandmabatty - just as well I don't check your posts immediately before my bedtime. I'm quite a sensitive little soul, doncha know ! grin

Susan I cannot resist asking whether the speed awareness course has anything to do with your DD desperate to overhaul young H on the home straight - and his inability to use his brakes......

Hope you and Mr S are getting enough feet up time. hmm

Grandmabatty Thu 22-Oct-20 17:12:17

... The weeks galloped by and autumn was firmly in control. My workload had intensified and I had little time to think about anything other than preparation, marking and behaviour management. I was a bit concerned about my eyes though, as I was sure sometimes I could see a flicker of black out of the corner of my eye, particularly when I was in a certain corridor. But I was so busy that I rubbed my eyes and forgot about it or put it down to stress. Then two weeks before Halloween I was working late, as usual. I left my classroom and tried to go along the usual corridor but the floor had been freshly polished and the cleaners would have had my hide if I'd stood on it! So I made a detour along the senior management corridor, carrying two bags of marking and a pile of jotters. As I reached the exit door, I realised that it was locked. I sighed and prepared to retrace my steps when all of a sudden, the handle turned and the door opened slightly. I could see the person on the other side was wearing an old fashioned academic gown. I gathered my stuff together, turned to thank them and no one was there. Both corridors were empty and silent...

Susan56 Thu 22-Oct-20 17:02:44

So pleased you finally have a date for your surgery soop???and that MacS is safely home??

We have had a bit of an up and down, tiring and exhausting couple of weeks but hopefully getting back to normal now.We looked after Henry today while our daughter did a speed awareness course?and the divine Miss M has come back to stay with us for five nights or so she has informed us!

TOYA

Grandmabatty Thu 22-Oct-20 16:57:20

That is excellent news Soop

Grandmafrench Thu 22-Oct-20 16:42:44

Couldn't be more happy for you, soop dear. Seems that you have won the Hospital Sweepstake today. This means that finally, whether you like it or not, they are "on to you". Both of you. This is the action you have so patiently waited for and we know that your lives are going to improve now that you don't feel you're just waiting and waiting.....

We have very un-South of France unpleasant weather. Rain woke us today. Still, it stayed dry for an hour or so for a dog stripping exercise in the courtyard. Chloe now looks super smart again.

Hope all the Kitchen ladies will take extra care with alcoholic entertainment available in the Argy. Headaches and any other aches (from crazy dancing, doing the splits or sampling of dodgy vittles) must be avoided at all costs. We need to keep health and strength and accident-free for the up coming season of good cheer on the horizon.

Wishing you all a good evening, a nice supper, feet up and perhaps a small glass of something. Kick back a little and save those worries for tomorrow. Cheers !

MawB2 Thu 22-Oct-20 16:34:19

Good news Soop and glad to hear McSporran is back safely too.

Charleygirl5 Thu 22-Oct-20 16:31:10

soop at least things are moving in the right direction. Christmas for you will be fabulous this year. This is something you need to get over and done with and start a new life. I am so so pleased.

Delighted to hear that MacS is home in one piece. Not the best of days but fabulous news.

soop Thu 22-Oct-20 16:22:50

Grandmabatty Next episode please. I look forward to reading your ghost story.

soop Thu 22-Oct-20 16:21:28

Polis! I love that word, Charleyg.

He's home. grin You know who wink. Safe and sound. The way I like it.

The scan results go to the oncologist. She's a lovely lady. In due course, she will inform MacS over the phone.

I've news! The secretary of the surgeon who will perform the drop-bot op' phoned this afternoon.
I'm to self isolate for two weeks starting Nov 12th. On Monday 23rd, I have a Covid test. On Wednesday 25th I go into hospital. Surgery the following day and, all being well, I should be okay to go home at the weekend.
I am relieved. I feel that at last I'm heading in the right direction. I didn't want to miss MacS's 80th birthday on the 3rd. Therefore, I'm doubly chuffed.

Puzzler61 Thu 22-Oct-20 15:38:20

on

Puzzler61 Thu 22-Oct-20 15:37:00

My contribution to the breakout party will be llama muzzles, specially flown in from the Sahara. If they can be forced encouraged to wear them on tomorrow the benefits will be two fold. They can’t spit at Charleygirl or any other guests, and they won’t be able to bite bums which they like to do. They may be bored and leave early.

kittylester Thu 22-Oct-20 14:58:31

It's the hanging round that gets you isn't it soop? And not being there to make sure they know what they are doing!! (((hugs))) keep us posted if you get any news!!

And, stay away from the argy - they get up to all sorts in there, not that I've ever ventured in!

Glad you feeling better purplepixie - don't you go in Argy either - that will surely give you a headache.

I've got headache - I said I'd add DS2's shopping to ours but so far I think the pumpkin is too small, the rolls are wrong and I've bought the wrong beer. And, that's before we deliver it! Ooooh eck!
