baubles Moderation hmm When it comes to calories, I have a tendency to gravitate towards wanting/resisting/eventually giving in to those which stretch my knicker elastic to the extreme. shock

kitty is MR L taking Picalax? Best wishes to him. When I eventually go into hospital for surgery, I'm to go in one day before the op. That day is earmarked for enemas. Oh joy!

Lovely to see Hattie and Maw back in circulation. Hope McS's scan goes according to plan on Thursday. Only two weeks until his BIG birthday.
Love to all people with aches and pains; sniffles and snuffles - and to those with poorly pets.

After the indignities Tara went through this morning she has stayed beside me since we returned home. I do love her to bits and she knows it.

I was told today the drug she is taking for her hyperthyroidism is definitely for life- joy of joys. Still, we appear to have a routine now.

The vet questioned whether I was giving her the correct dose via syringe- with my background there would be no margin for error. He did say he had made a mistake.

Lovely to see you back, maw, and, of course, Hattie.

DH is home!! They removed some polyps but said the looked fine. His procedure was carried out, on the NHS, at a private hospital and he was given ham, cheese and pickle sandwiches, crisps, an apple and a kitkat afterwards!!

Seriously, we are, as ever, grateful for the NHS!

... The autumn term continued on. Trees, once dressed in green like catwalk models, changed to oranges and vibrant reds. Pupils moved from the 'honeymoon' to testing every boundary. With two young children at home, I realised quickly that I was best preparing and marking at work. It wasn't always arduous though as often colleagues were in their classrooms and we would have a blether. One particular friend called June gave me excellent advice and I often called into her room on my way home. One Thursday I had had a rather difficult day and felt I hadn't dealt with a recalcitrant pupil properly so I wanted June's help. I could hear her moving desks about in her room so headed along the corridor. The noise grew louder as if she was rearranging desks. Just as I put my hand on the door of her room, the noise stopped abruptly. I opened the door. There was no one there. Then from the empty room I heard a whisper...

Brilliant news kitty. I realised where you were going when you said he had to have a Covid test. My friend's son does the procedures there so maybe he had him! Small world.

Puzzler61 Tue 20-Oct-20 14:29:37

It wasn’t June, was it Grandmabatty ? Who was it ?? ???

Puzzler61 Tue 20-Oct-20 14:32:03

Yours news is the kind we like to hear kittyl.
So glad your DH is well and home. A relief to you both, and a shout out to the with their stirling care.
☕️ ☕️ a cuppa and a rest for you both now.

Today I have finally finished the corner of the garden! It was full of overgrown elder, privet, brambles, ivy, bindweed etc. We did the veg beds in spring and I finally finished the paths today! I think I shifted about 8cwt of gravel this morning. Smug! Moi?

Nannytopsy Tue 20-Oct-20 15:52:28

Forgot the photo ! Mug? blush

Puzzler61 Tue 20-Oct-20 16:10:33

So neat and easily accessed now nannytopsy.
Well worth the effort you’ve put in! ????

soop Tue 20-Oct-20 16:22:58

Grandmabatty I came in hoping that we had a new chapter of the ghost story. I think that you are a marvelous story teller. Keep adding to your spooky experience. Please. shock

Nannytopsy Take a bow. I love the result of your tremendous hard work. Congratulations.

Thank you, anno

Bravo, kitty I couldn't be more pleased to hear the outcome of your husband's procedure. Feet up. Spoil him something rotten. (hugs) from us lot.

It has rained for most of the day. The islands are shrouded in mist. I've completed a few indoor jobs. Not a lot else to share with you right now.

I am thinking of all our Granspals with health issues or other concerns. Each evening, as I prepare to log off, I think that tomorrow may be a better day, with good reason to smile and remain positive in the face of the challenges of Covid.

Hoping to be back with our kitcheners tomorrow. smile moon

Charleygirl5 Tue 20-Oct-20 18:01:34

grannytopsy that is impressive- are you for hire please?

Puzzler61 Tue 20-Oct-20 18:32:11

“NHS” is missing from my post kittyl, sorry.

Doodle Tue 20-Oct-20 19:39:28

Maw welcome back. So nice to have you and Hattie back with us. You need feeding up now having been on prison rations for weeks ?.
Kitty so glad Mr Kitty got a Kit Kat as a reward for being a good patient. Good to hear all went well.
Nanytopsy the garden looks nice.
Good luck to MacSporran for Thursday. I wonder if he will get a Kit Kat too ?
Grandmabatty ooh ?

Doodle Tue 20-Oct-20 19:55:52

Pssst. Don’t tell the powers that be but we’re having a party in the Argy Friday night to welcome back the Doghouse 4. All ex cons and their pets welcome as is everyone else. The theme is jailbreak and we aim to have a jolly good celebration. Poteen and all the un-usual beverages will be available.
All are welcome .....just don’t tell anyone ?

annodomini Tue 20-Oct-20 20:14:37

A nice cliffhanger, Grandmabatty. How many episodes are there in this thriller chiller?
kitty, I'm happy for MrL and the favourable outcome of his 'scope'. When I had mine, I didn't get a sandwich or an apple and certainly not a kitkat - just a rich tea biscuit and a cup of NHS tea.
Nannytopsy, your garden looks exceptionally well organised. I could do with half your energy. My get-up-and-go has got up and gone! My poor garden lost so much last year in a flood and hasn't really recovered. sad.
It's been sunny and mild today but from the way the big trees were swaying, I could see that the wind was getting up.
Just the other side if the Greater Manchester border, we are teetering on the brink between tiers 2 and 3. I hope for - but don't expect - a miracle!

Grandmabatty Tue 20-Oct-20 20:41:01

annodominiI thought I'd keep going til halloween for the grand finale! ☺

annodomini Tue 20-Oct-20 21:21:38

Grandmabatty, I forgot that you'd said that. You are very good at creating suspense! OMG, that makes me sound like an English teacher. Actually I'm a Scottish English teacher!

Hellogirl1 Tue 20-Oct-20 21:54:49

Welcome back MawB and Hattie, the place hasn`t ben the same without you two.
Pleased that all went well for Mr. Lester.
I hardly get time to get on here these days. It`s alright Lynne having 4 care visits a day, and we DO need them, but there never seems enough time to get stuck into doing anything before I have to get Lynne`s food ready for the next visit. I`m not grumbling, honest I`m not, just want a bit more time. And that hospital bed takes up nearly all her bedroom, and that`s after taking lots of her stuff upstairs.

MawB2 Tue 20-Oct-20 22:07:42

Glad you have got Lynne home Hellogirl but hope you can look after yourself too.
Accept any offers from outside- cooking, laundry , anything at all and if it isn’t offered, ask !
The last thing you want is to be knocked out yourself - so I hope you will soon find life less stressful and exhausting.

Grandmabatty Tue 20-Oct-20 22:22:04

annodominiI was too, til I retired two years ago.

Nannytopsy Tue 20-Oct-20 23:21:14

Anno is must be just awful to watch your hard work being washed away. Flooding was something we looked out for moving here - if we had flooded in our Leicester hilltop, most of the county would have been under water.
?to the Lesters. Such a relief for you.
TOYA.

NanaandGrampy Wed 21-Oct-20 14:14:48

Afternoon all and especially the final Doghouse 4 member Maw ! Glad you made it back because Grey and I were sick of tunnelling !!

I don’t think I can make the ....shhhhhh ....secret party Doodle but have arranged for several strippers dressed as policeman to bust in ! Don’t break them !

I’ll look forward to hearing how it all goes ?
