Good Morning Thursday
(86 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry outside this morning in Brackley .
Today , usual bus trips out ,and then return to watch the Giro stage .
Tried to sort out frost free freezer yesterday, hoping I have resolved the water problem.
Take Care ,
Mick
Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs GM. Enjoy your day.
So very sorry to hear the news about your neighbour Urmstongran. It is obvious it has hit you hard ?.
Loving the news from the farm. Reminds me of Mommawolf. I still miss reading her daily news.
I’m off socially distancing line dancing today, so many months now since we met, I know I’ll have forgotten all the steps.
Take care everyone
Good morning from Malta where it is sunny with a slight breeze.
I was awoken by a ping of my phone at 5am. Immediately thought, ‘oh no, what’s happened’. Poor DD1 in the USA had taken a nasty tumble whilst popping to the supermarket and has broken a bone in her hand. She sent photos, it looked nasty. She’s now worrying about whether or not she will be able to work (she’s a radiographer). There’s always something.
Happy anniversary to GrandMattie. Enjoy your celebratory meal.
Sorry to hear your sad news of your neighbour, Urmston.
No plans today but probably go out for a walk. There’s not much else to do with the rate going up every day.
Take care all and stay safe.☀️
Good morning Mick and all his followers.
We are back from the school run and ready for a nap but have to leave for our cluck and collect shortly. It’s a big one today with all 95 items!
A bit of birthday buying, ingredients for Christmas cake, children’s food as we have a sleepover on Saturday etc etc.
I have an unstable knee which is hurting like mad at the moment and even woke me up in the night ?. Physio tomorrow to see if that helps.
Greyduster we too are surrounded by mostly arable farms and find it fascinating to watch the year go by. There are crops we can’t identify and bits of kit that are amazing!
for Dragonfly.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.
Click not cluck!
Good morning from Durham. Cold but dry after a night of torrential rain (again).
Both Grand-dogs here again today. The puppy is a handful!
DH very grumpy about it - in poor health, but no excuse! He’ll watch tv in the snug all day, so I’ll keep the dogs out of his way.
It’s lovely reading all the news and gossip on this thread. How diverse we all are? Downgraded to Tier2 here, but hardly feel like ripping my clothes off and running naked through the streets to celebrate!!
Congratulations to anyone celebrating anything. Hope everyone has the best day today.
ps - wasn’t Mommawolf a hoax poster?
So sorry to hear your very upsetting news Urmston
Good morning to everyone here and in and out of the doghouse.
Thank you everyone. This is always a very kind & supportive place on GN.
I love hearing about your farm sheepandcattle. It’s enjoyable to read about such diverse lifestyles.
Shout out to all you newbies ? we’ll soon get to be friends. x
I’m a late starter here, but I have got the washing ready to hang out on this bright sunny morning! It looks like another lovely day here so I think it will be a walk somewhere. Had a walk yesterday and then clocked up another 2000 steps last night whilst sitting on the sofa pulling some crochet back! That did feel a bit like cheating so I must do better today!
I also want to go and get some indoor shoes today as I don’t like slippers all the time. I’ve hardly ventured to shops since March, but the places I have been seem to be geared up for safe shopping so I’m feeling a bit braver. Have a good day!
georgesgran yes you’re right about * mommawolf* and resulted in lots of speculation about fatal accident .
Happy Anniversary to Mr&MrsMattie enjoy you dinner out. ??
Such sad news urm. It’s so true that we have to make the most of everyday.
Good Morning All x.
Bright and sunny and very calm too, a beautiful morning.
Hooray, newspaper through my letterbox this morning after persevering on the phone yesterday.
I learned that a long-standing neighbour is going into a residential home. He's been in hospital for a while after having had a fall so he'll be missed around the area. I've known him for over 14 years and will miss his chatting at my gate. He's got dementia bless him which has been quick in taking a hold.
I love hearing about life on the farm from Sheepandcattle. We did have a farmer in the family once upon a time who worked on land in Haworth and who'd gained a degree in animal husbandry.
Another family lived on a farm in the IOM where we used to holiday years ago and I used to collect mushrooms on that farm. Mainly sheep, Loaghtans they were with a lot of long horns. I was a bit scared of them remembering back.
Some tidying and writing to do today then peel potatoes later for my dinner , so nothing strenuous. I might pop to the local shop just to get out on the move. I get myself out and about every other day if I can to stop myself from seizing up. It's all too easy to sit and fester if you don't have to move.
Have had my crumpets and hot choc so I'm happy now
Don't know what the news is as I don't wish to see it. I've been watching the squirrels at play, it's more entertaining. The grass was cut with a knife and fork by the look of it, yesterday, so now the squirrels can find hidden peanuts.
Enjoy the day everyone and stay safe and well. Thoughts to our friends who are struggling one way or another.
Sadness for your neighbour Urmston, never the best of times. Take care all xx
Good morning from a sunny and bright East Midlands.
Steak and ale pie, chips and peas for tea tonight - hot cross buns to follow with lemon curd.
Stay safe and sane.Sending love and hugs to all who are suffering, depressed or just plain old fed up.
Urmastongran -So sorry to hear you sad news. Do you live at Malaga all the time? Lucky things - we visited there years ago and it is so lovely. Enjoy!
No we don’t Purplepixie but owing to circumstances we have stayed out here during most of this year.
Fortunately the ‘State of Emergency’ lockdown we endured in March, April & May doesn’t count to a 183 day stay.
We will be back in Manchester next month - to the cold and wet - and where Covid numbers are x5 higher than here!
Oh dear, really sad to hear about a convincing fake poster. But in another way it’s good to know there wasn’t fatal accident. So some good news even if I was totally taken in.
Thank you for the heads up.
Good morning Mick and all who follow. I'm very rarely in time to post on this lovely thread but I do read it daily, so I recognise lots of names. Dry day here nr Manchester.
Missed Urmstongran's post yesterday
so sorry to hear your news. Happy Anniversary to those members celebrating. Just a Tesco delivery today. Nothing else planned.
I suppose I could put some more washing on. My new (ish) machine has certainly earned its keep. I'm loving trying all its extra programmes. I'm so easily pleased.
I may use my beautiful Blackwing pencils (pencil nerd) for some sketching later. Portrait Artist of the Year inspired me last night.
Take care and be safe.
Good Morning all from sunny Harrogate. The washing machine is busy now there is a chance of drying sheets outside. Hoe your freezer is sorted now, Mick.
Expecting a shop from Morrisons today, seems there is a lot that is not included!! DD1 will be going to Sainsburies later and I shall have a weary GD straight from school
DH is grumbling about his dairy free diet, but he knows I will stop nagging him about it if he carries it through.
I know I have problems with dairy (intolerance). He keeps mumbling it wont make any difference.
I was always told as a child, every day in every way things will get better and better - hope it works for you!
Good morning from the North of Scotland. I am just back in from a wander in the woods and boy is is cold! I have had to wear my down jacket which I try not to do before November. It is only 4 degrees so I have decided not to put out the washing and I almost hesitate to break the magnificent spiders’ webs on the poles. The trees are particularly beautiful this week and although a friend in the US often said to visIt them in their fall, I honestly believe the variety of trees and scenery here must be just as lovely especially when you know all the best spots to go to. The reds and yellows are so brilliant even on the grey days that they are luminous. My already patchy Fraser I’d full of untidy holes where the red squirrels have been burying their treasure.
The C word: I downloaded a knitting pattern and ordered books for my ACs yesterday as I decided to prepare much earlier than usual.
urm so sad to hear about your good friend.
Best wishes to all who are unwell and are caring for family members. It is so hard in the best of times and even more difficult just now. Haven’t read the full thread yet but welcome all new people. Be kind to yourselves today.
Fraser ????? Grass
Good morning everyone. The sun is now shining in Glasgow which emphasis the changing autumnal colours on the trees. Beautiful mix of russet and gold of different hues have now replaced colourful flowers in the garden.
Washing out, enjoyed hearing all the news on a FaceTime chat with both GDs and another FaceTime chat with DD2 in Australia where life is so much more back to normal compared to ours.
Flu jab done yesterday, only two of us in the surgery and no ill effects barr slight pain and stiffness in my upper arm.
Happy Anniversary GrandM ?
Urmston Sad news for you. ?
Good morning to our last remaining Doghouse member?
Enjoy your day everyone and best wishes to all facing challenges.
*Urmstongran*.
Welcome dwmxwg, did you throw the scrabble letters around to see what you’d get?
Thank you GrandmasueUK for the heads up, I didn’t know Portrait Artist was on, I’ll have to look on catch up.
Meant to say earlier KittyLester hope teapot son is okay.
A quick good morning from S Lanarkshire, just had time to read through posts and say welcome to new friends. I love the idea of ‘clucking and collecting’ Nannytopsy, it seems to sum up how we are living at the moment.Thank goodness for the autumn colours just now. Here in the Clyde valley it’s just glorious and so comforting somehow in these anxious times, (although always a slight envy of all you coast dwellers!).
Have as good a day as possible all.
