They say a picture paints a thousand words and there have been some lovely photos on GN recently. I am a visual person and, especially at this time, pictures cheer me up. Autumn scenes, people's gardens, cake baking, craftwork, pets, clothes we fancy buying etc. Even stock images of Boris, royalty etc.
What is the general feeling? Are they superfluous or do they add another dimension? Are we "allowed" to just drop them into a non photographic thread?

MOMB, we didn`t actually venture across to Easdale, I didn`t trust myself to get into and out of the "ferry" without as catastrophe!

Lisa why are doors abroad always so much more interesting! Here are some from Madeira a couple of years ago.

Lisagran Mon 26-Oct-20 19:04:31

Ooh, lovely, grannyqueenie! I always take loads of photos of doors on holiday grin

Ellianne Mon 26-Oct-20 19:11:49

A sort of doorway/arch, this summer.

Great photo’s everyone, if we can’t travel about in reality, we can enjoy travelling on GN?

grannyqueenie Mon 26-Oct-20 19:33:14

Love photos like that, they just draw the eye in, Ellianne.

DanniRae Tue 27-Oct-20 08:10:33

Oh farview - your picture has made me cry. No words of comfort ......... Sorry ....... But some flowers for you x

Ellianne Tue 27-Oct-20 08:15:04

farview the composition of that picture is amazing and tells its own story. You and your grandson look so small and compact against those huge buildings, but your bond is bigger than words. Thank you for sharing.
Love conquers all.

farview Tue 27-Oct-20 08:53:08

Thank you*Ellianne and Dannirae*..I didnt know that my daughter had taken the photo until she sent it to me...love does conquer all...?

Bathsheba Tue 27-Oct-20 09:26:55

Oh farview I have a lump in my throat after seeing your photo sad. Everything crossed that you will get to see your precious grandchildren before too long.

Ellianne Tue 27-Oct-20 12:27:10

Autumn leaves on a slippery slope.

grandtanteJE65 Tue 27-Oct-20 13:42:07

Your great-grandma looks to me as if she is having trouble keeping her hat on,

Nearly all my photos have people in them, so I don't use them on here, as I prefer to be anonymous.

Greyduster Tue 27-Oct-20 18:27:56

Chestnuts picked up in the woods today, arranged so that I can paint them at a later date - or not!

farview Tue 27-Oct-20 20:04:08

Beautiful...I love chestnuts and horse chestnuts..always have a bowl of them on the hearth

grannyqueenie Tue 27-Oct-20 22:42:02

Autumn and family, 2 of my favourite things! Your photo just personifies what so many of us are missing, farview. hope you can see them soon ?. A couple more autumn ones from the other day.
