They say a picture paints a thousand words and there have been some lovely photos on GN recently. I am a visual person and, especially at this time, pictures cheer me up. Autumn scenes, people's gardens, cake baking, craftwork, pets, clothes we fancy buying etc. Even stock images of Boris, royalty etc.
What is the general feeling? Are they superfluous or do they add another dimension? Are we "allowed" to just drop them into a non photographic thread?

A view of Coniston taken while on a walk, on what turned out to be our last holiday before the pandemic struck. September 2019, summer's final flourish.

Some people having fun today in half term.

The car park at the reservoir was full to overflowing this morning. But walking round there was enough room for everyone so social distancing wasn’t a problem!

Ellianne Wed 28-Oct-20 22:46:49

At first I thought you meant the car park was underwater grannyqueenie!
Is that a little black dog?

grannyqueenie Thu 29-Oct-20 09:59:19

Ha ha..Ellieanne with the weather we’ve had these last few days it was certainly rather squelchy! Well spotted that’s Flora the cocker spaniel pup belonging to the friend I was walking with. She’s very cute, Flora that is, but her “mum” is lovely too!! This is a lovely thread, thanks for starting it!

Ellianne Thu 29-Oct-20 10:02:49

Hi Flora the pup! Watch out, my stupid owners are dressing me up for Halloween. Grrr!

Greyduster Thu 29-Oct-20 19:44:11

Even the ‘Women of Steel’ outside our City Hall are keeping the Covid message out in front!

I pass this horse most mornings on my walk. Amazing markings on its rear end, have never noticed such a weird pattern before.

Namsnanny Fri 30-Oct-20 14:09:58

My friends greet me when ever I come this way!

I particularly like the curly top knot on 'Curley the Cow' (left in picture!)

Namsnanny Fri 30-Oct-20 14:10:59

Oops! sorry Curly.

Ellianne Fri 30-Oct-20 14:29:32

Maybe the rain crimps their hairdo Namsnanny!

Parsley3 Fri 30-Oct-20 16:57:39

What a lovely thread. Thank you.

Greyduster Fri 30-Oct-20 17:29:16

My hair goes like that when I’ve been out in the rain. That one’s better looking than me though!?

Namsnanny Fri 30-Oct-20 17:53:03

Lovely sense of humour Greyduster but I'm sure you're wrong! smile

(Yes me too), the rain plays havoc doesnt it Ellianne?

I agree Parsley3 Such a talented bunch of photographers in GN.
I must get some tips from everyone. wink

Namsnanny Fri 30-Oct-20 18:13:13

That is such a happy dog Ellianne so lovely to see.

Ellianne Fri 30-Oct-20 18:17:09

I've just noticed the horse's rear marking Alima. Very strange.
