They say a picture paints a thousand words and there have been some lovely photos on GN recently. I am a visual person and, especially at this time, pictures cheer me up. Autumn scenes, people's gardens, cake baking, craftwork, pets, clothes we fancy buying etc. Even stock images of Boris, royalty etc.
What is the general feeling? Are they superfluous or do they add another dimension? Are we "allowed" to just drop them into a non photographic thread?

Elliane grin Yes very tranquil for Birmingham!

Namsnanny Thu 26-Nov-20 15:22:14

Just for you greyduster??

Cfaz49 Thu 26-Nov-20 15:25:41

A trawler coming into Looe harbour. One of the very few still working. We were taking advantage of the weather as for once, it’s not raining!

Greyduster Thu 26-Nov-20 15:41:10

Yep, Namsnanny, that just about sums it up!!?. And let’s hear it for Cornwall’s fishermen!?

cornergran Thu 26-Nov-20 16:00:51

No deer, just trees from today’s route march. A gentle stroll according to Mr C. Oh my poor knees!! grin.

cornergran Thu 26-Nov-20 16:05:45

Well, we did see these in a garden centre a few weeks back. grin. Would you believe they (allegedly) sing hmm.

Namsnanny Thu 26-Nov-20 16:46:11

Cfaz49 ... you might be recording a dying trade sad.

No deer but plenty of sun cornergran. Time to get out the Voltarol?
What do you think the deer would sing 'Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer'?!!
You must go back and find out for us!

Ellianne Thu 26-Nov-20 17:00:55

And clap hands for those who look after the fishermen and others in trouble at sea.

Anyone know what this gorgeous tree is? The bark looks like silk ribbon. Walking in Richmond Park on a mild day earlier this week.

We used to have one of these, called a cerrula, google it to see.
Not sure of spelling though.

fevertree Thu 26-Nov-20 17:12:38

Thank you lemongrove. I Googled and it seems the Cerrula is the same tree as the Tibetan Cherry mentioned upthread.

Namsnanny Thu 26-Nov-20 17:52:53

Maybe this is as close as future generations will get to see fish?

I've been watching a program about the 5 extinction events the earth has gone through.

More cobwebs. Really must dust the garden grin

Greyduster Fri 27-Nov-20 11:43:27

If that lacy one was mine, Corner, I would enlarge it, print it and frame it!

Bellanonna Fri 27-Nov-20 12:46:48

That spider web is a work of art, isn’t it, Corner?
Beautiful view of an underwater world, Namsnanny.

Ellianne Fri 27-Nov-20 14:31:30

For a minute I thought I was in Switzerland this morning!

Namsnanny Fri 27-Nov-20 15:07:31

I've never seen a cobweb quite like the first picture cornergran.

The colours of the coral are fabulous aren't they Bellanonna?

Ellianne they look like soldiers in a row!

Hellogirl1 Fri 27-Nov-20 15:09:05

Ellianne, that picture reminds me of some woodland we walked through at a sea life centre just outside Oban. It`s a very pretty photo.

Help!!! When I touch on the 'paperclip ' to add a photo..nothing is happening ?..anybody any idea why?

grannyqueenie Fri 27-Nov-20 15:31:42

Beautiful spiders webs, corner, hope your knees are holding up after all that walking the other day. There’s nothing quite like a woodland photo to draw me in and make me wonder what’s up ahead, Ellianne. Beautiful corals, namsnanny, it’s very sad to think of places of natural beauty being lost for ever.
Spotted this chap on a local walk today. Tier 3 or not he looks like he’s on top of the world!

Ellianne Fri 27-Nov-20 17:57:44

Sounds like a re registering problem farview. Maybe ask GN?
We look forward to your backlog of photos!!

Greyduster Fri 27-Nov-20 19:24:54

Nah! He’s just acting the goat, GQ!?. Lovely photos, folks!

Namsnanny Fri 27-Nov-20 21:18:13

Greyduster gringrin

cornergran Fri 27-Nov-20 21:24:30

Wonderful photos. The goat reminds me of the goats we saw in the trees in Morocco. The knees continue to complain grannyq, I’m not listening to them smile.
