I'm not fond of cut out shoulders, but that's just me. You either have sleeves or you don't.

What I really don't like on me is full flowy sleeves, as in Stevie Nicks. Great look for her, I would get caught in any door I went through and have soggy wet sleeves from dish and hand washing.

What a treat this thread is. Good for a laugh to. I haven't got any bazooms, and as yet, no moobs either.

All of my wardrobe comes out of 1930's & 40's classic Hollywood. someone mentioned white linen trousers. I have a light blue linen suit, 1930's style, had it made for a wedding. How I wish I had listened to the tailor when he suggested a 20% polyester mix. 30 minutes on and the suit looks like I have slept in it.

You have all had me in stitches, I love the love/hate comments about crocs, (had to google crocs) my shoes get a similar reaction and so do my hats, as in: "Whose the prat in the hat?

One thing I can guarantee though, you will never see me in tee shirt, jeans and trainers. Here's just one of the pairs of shoes that always get a reaction. There's many more.

Where I live there does seem to be a kind of uniform for women of a certain age.....it involves a striped Breton tee shirt and a gilet and Skechers. Not criticising, just saying. I have to tell myself to step away from the navy and white stripes in shops too.

I think those big pointy broderie anglaise collars that seem to be fashionable are AWFUL.

I would also not be seen dead in a velour tracksuit, anything orange, anything shiny, badly sewn or badly fitting or unflattering for any reason. I try to look my best even if only going to the postbox- just by wearing the right colours and as flattering a cut as possible as I am not the best shape!

Lucca, here's the dress my wife made herself on the occasion of our trip on the Orient Express. She remodelled a man's hat. The gloves and shoes are new but are fashioned of the era.

Polyester elastic waist trousers, particularly those with the front creases stitched in place!

Plunging neckline.

When I was really young, teens and early twenties, I wore yellow quite a lot - orange too, sometimes. I remember two very pretty yellow dresses. Those colours went well with my dark hair. It’s true I wouldn’t dream of wearing them now. They wouldn’t enhance my ageing skin, and although I am not grey yet my hair colour is somehow less intense.

Lovely photo Spangler, very cool! Sewing your own clothes is fab. I occasionally do, but am most likely to alter things for a good fit that I have bought in all honesty!

Anything bright green - I hate the colour green though I am a lover of frogs but really only the beautiful rain forest ones.

@Grandma70s Our skin does seem to pale with age, so paired with lighter hair I think we need more gentle colors to flatter us. If we have a warm skin tone, warm colors should still look good but maybe not to overbearing ones? I am still dying my hair, so not too sure about this?

Right. I need trainers that aren't skechers ? No Breton stripes here, I am proud to assert!

It hasn't ventured out of its dark cupboard for years.

I do not own a navy gilet, but a teal one which is lurking in a cupboard! ? I have not worn it for years and will donate to charity ASAP along with skechers trainers!

Oh dear. I feel good in beige ankle grazers, sketcher shoes, a striped top (one of many in wardrobe) and a navy gilet ?
When it’s cold I wear a pull on navy hat.

Nothing wrong with navy per se, it's a classy colour! Goes with everything, like black or grey.
