Good morning from a dark, dry E Kent.
Got my flu jab in a couple of hour. I have to stand in the cold literally half dressed before being called for my microsecond in the surgery.
Yesterday was nice. I’m very fond of my friend who is both very streetwise and intelligent, but boy, does she talk! Lunch was delicious, we had two starters each, which were far more interesting than the mains. Petticoat Lane fascinated her, full of 50s- 80s tat which she remembered. Having only come to the UK in early 70s most of it had passed me by. She loved it!
RFU cup final or something this evening, so shall be banned from sitting room.

Good morning all - although it looks like the middle of the night.
I don’t think I’ll get much benefit from that “extra” hour tomorrow as Hattie’s internal clock decides what is getting up time here.
Flu jab for me too today Grandmattie but I have a cunning plan - a jumper with 3/4 length kimono sleeves under a poncho - easy enough to expose my upper arm for that nanosecond!
I am told by friends who had theirs last Saturday that it is very efficiently done with minimal time outside the surgery.
Hope so, it’s a bit chilly!

Yesterday my crafting consisted of carrying half a heavy breeze block upstairs to weigh something down and I’ve just realised I’ll have to be more careful when I bring it back down so I’ll do it in a plastic trig.

I’m off to buy some cider and an autumn ride to see the colours this morning and then a chat this afternoon with my daughter.

I hope there aren’t too many worries for you all and you enjoy your lie in tomorrow ?

So here we are in proper lockdown and I’ve saved all my home chores for the next fortnight as there’ll be no more a roaming for a while!

Will pop in later and catch up with all your bizziness, birthdays and breakfast feasts - I’m on full Monty duty later!

Beech, mine will be done in the surgery, rushed in, jabbed and slung out. But I have to wait in the car park and told not to be early, or late for that matter. So many rules and regulations that I lose the will to live.
I normally bake cakes and biscuits for the staff as a thank you for giving up their Saturday, but not this year. Things have been SO complicated to access that I really CBA and don’t see why I should.
BTW Maw, I don’t have a poncho...

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's blowing a hoolie here.

My inlaws had to wait outside the surgery for hours ages waiting for their jabs. It was a wonder they didn't die of pneumonia. When they got home they had a call to say as they were shielding someone would come to the house to give them their flu vaccs. Duh!
Nov 2nd will begin our new covid restrictions so we'll need to do our Christmas shopping quickly while we can

Good morning all from Glasgow. Still dark and not a pleasant morning at all, wet and very windy.

DD2’s MiL in Australia was due to make her annual visit to the UK next week to visit family in London, where she is originally from. We are both disappointed as she also stays with us for a week and I shall miss an enjoyable catch up with her in the flesh, so to speak, we will instead have to make do with our usual FaceTime chats.

As it is obviously an indoors day and we have the weekend off ?, I may do some pampering today, face mask, shampoo treatment and nails. Time to tidy myself up a bit. More excitement to follow as I try out some new hair cutting device on DH. A couple of swells with nowhere to go?

Talk of Christmas presents. DD1 mention recently her tools were all over the place so she will be receiving a tool box with spends inside. ?. We are all keeping fingers crossed for a dry Christmas Day for a garden visit at some time on the day?

Pleased you are feeling better Mick and thanks Beechnut for your good wishes. The celebrations are ongoing as I told DH there would be no cooking this weekend, some will know I am not a domestic wizard in any sense of the word particularly around cooking. So we are walking to our favourite Italian cafe for their delicious toasted paninis which are full of lovely roasted veg, cheese, ham etc and a glass of wine and then a strong coffee. Tomorrow after an autumnal walk around the Cliveden gardens we are finishing up with lunch at Cote. A thoroughly indulgent weekend. Back to normality on Monday.

Do hope Gilly returns to us soon. She is very much missed. ?

Pleased you are feeling better Mick. We have no plans for the weekend, DH is deciding whether or not to have his flu jab this morning (yes it’s in the car park) I had mine in Boots last month.

I am normally upbeat and glass half full
type of girl but I am really starting to struggle, I need to give my head a good wobble and find something to occupy my mind.

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where DH has informed me it’s just starting to rain again! He’s just off for his run. I don’t know what happened last night but when I checked in to GN for a quick catch up I kept getting last Friday’s posts. However I did find Marydoll’s mars bar cake recipe which I had missed even though I was looking out for it.
My weight is already creeping back up so I’ll probably need a new set of clothes when I’ve indulged in that. A bit of insulation for the winter months!
As I type I can hear the wind is getting up too. Poor DH, he’ll be blown round his running route. It will be wild on the coast section.
No chat with my friend this morning - she’s visiting her sister. Will phone DS2 instead. He’s on his 4 days off work. It’s getting busy in his warehouse and he was hoping for overtime but as they have got fewer workers in to keep social distance he may be disappointed. Take care and stay safe everyone ?

It’s dark, wet and windy here in South Lanarkshire, didn’t even have to look out of the window to find out, rain is battering against the glass and wind howling round the house.

Himself and I had our flu jabs last week, evening appointments in a huge hall in a civic centre in the next town. Very efficient and absolutely no waiting, our GP surgeries aren’t doing the vaccinations this year.

Another day of nothing much to do, I’m a dab hand at pottering though!

Good morning, all from a windy Torbay (outside!!),

Lins1066: you made me smile with your zooming zombies quip! My family zoomed with me on both Saturdays during my quarantine period after the French trip but this morning DD2 has requested a normal telephone call for a proper catch up. I know why: DGD is as nosey as her Grandma and revels in hearing adult conversations!

It was great to return to our “Move Ut Or Lose It” class yesterday despite the restrictions preventing us from using equipment or sharing refreshments with social time afterwards.

Today is National Ageing Well Festival for which we have a local virtual one to access. Similar events are available nationwide but I can’t find a national link to share.

Good morning all. Here in Derbyshire it's a dry and bright morning with rain expected this afternoon.

Today I hope to spend some time in the garden while it's still dry. We'll watch the racing this afternoon before having a walk to check on the horses. DD can't do her share of looking after them at the moment due to her covid imprisonment, so it's all down to me.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
We are both up early today. We received an unsettling email yesterday (not a scam) and are wondering about the best way to deal with it's contents. I really struggle with feelings of anxiety when things like this happen. DH wants to go in all guns blazing but I have told him that is not the way forward.
No plans today apart from watching sport on the tv this afternoon. Probably go out for coffee this morning.
Sorry to be a bit negative today.

I’ve got good news too I had the best sleep ever last night I woke up at 6.30 brilliant that’s a first in a while. I’ve been given a free exercise bike yesterday however I’ve to wait until I see my neuro physio before I jump on it. Other good news is my complaint to nhs Fife about how I felt while in hospital has been resolved and I truly believe things will improve after getting a face to face with the senior charge nurse and her boss. I’m so pleased that’s all behind me now it’s been festering for months. Yesterday we went to Falkland a beautiful wee historic town where where Outlander is televised.have a good day everyone try not to worry too much keep warm and cosy do or eat something which will make you feel good virtual hugs everyone thanks for listening

An early good morning all from South Notts. It's a bit murky after yesterdays showers, no idea what it will do later. I'll nip out very soon for a newspaper and some nice salmon for lunch.

DH is off to help SIL replace a fence, that will be fun in this windy weather. I will be joining DD3 and DGS plus their new rescue dog for a walk after a lunch of homemade tomato soup. We are able to meet up but we are careful not to get too close, sadly no hugs.
Will be providing us all with Lasagne for dinner later.
Trying to keep positive as I know I am luckier than many.

Good morning All. Like other Scottish grannies, I woke to heavy rain and wind so I won't be going far today. I have a tesco delivery due soon so at least I'll have food. I've nothing planned beyond the usual Saturday housework and a bit of sewing. Have a good day all.

Good morning Mick and the GM team from a brightening up east London.

I have fed the cats and made coffee and my dear partner is still fast asleep. This is unlike him, he usually wakes early, so I have left him undisturbed and am reading our GM thread, with my coffee.

We did a bit of household shopping yesterday, the post office, pharmacy etc and then had a nice lunch out. But when we got home, we were both tired.

It’s our film night tonight, so we’ll have to look out something good. I plan rump steaks, salad and chips (my tired partner’s favourite) and it’s a ‘wine night’ ?.

Thinking of bluesapphire and gilly, good wishes to those facing challenges and keep warm to those having flu jabs in their Surgeries car parks! Let’s be careful out there ?
