I couldn’t stay in bed this morning for love nor money! Wide awake up at 5.35am, Thing is although was an early riser, what did I do ? Next to nothing! Fed my pets had breakfast, had shower, then sat down to read gransnet forums, the joys of gransnet 👌

Woke at 6.00am as usual, just taking a break after breakfast before I start the cleaning.

me, it willtake days to get over the jetlag. I do wish they would agree to stay with BST. Or even UTC

Not me. I had horrific insomnia last night, up until almost 4.30am (new time). The alarm had to drag me out of bed.

Urmstongran Mon 26-Oct-20 08:17:56

Me! It was lovely and light here at 7:15am.

Mr Godfrey woke me up, as usual. Mr Godfrey is the character in Dad's Army who is always asking to be excused. Bladder pressure, gets me every time. Saw the time, then saw daylight, it didn't equate for a second or two. Bloody clocks.

Good morning everyone from a beautiful sunny day here on the east coast of Fife. It feels so cold though must keep nice andcosy today. My DH insists because the temp is reading a certain number the house must be at that warmth and it’s switched itself off now. I say get it switched UP further never mind it’s reached a certain point. I’m not having a shower unless the bathroom warms up a little . Does anyone else have this mindset wink my DH is off playing golf today we’re both staying clear of the local outbreak. It’s such a shame for those who rely on this wee shoppy. angryhope everyone gets well soon. Have a lovely day everyone look after yourselves and others less fortunate r keep safeDAE AS YER TELT wink me I can sleep well on that hr we lost didn’t make a difference to me just got up for the call of nature then back to sleep.

Oops I’ve lost the good morning thread sorry everyone.

Calendargirl Mon 26-Oct-20 08:41:30

Got up 6ish, same as usual.

I like to get up as soon as I wake, never use an alarm.

But I’m a lark, not an owl. Usually in bed by 10ish.

Juicylucy Mon 26-Oct-20 09:58:27

I’m a night owl don’t go to bed before 12 so didn’t really affect me.

My Dog! she must have been snoozing and didn't hear the weatherman remind us on Saturday evening x

midgey Mon 26-Oct-20 10:02:53

Wide awake an hour too early😒

I thought that, like me, everyone would dread and dislike the autumn clock change but found, after reading a Mumsnet thread, that most people welcome it. Well, that's me told.

Then I remembered that I am retired and I can get up and go to bed when I like so it will make no difference to me at all really. Doh! As Homer Simpson says.

inishowen Mon 26-Oct-20 10:09:38

I thought i was getting up at 6am as hubby said he'd changed ALL the clocks. Came down to find it was 5am grrrr. Sat and watched boring TV then went back to bed.

Hetty58 Mon 26-Oct-20 10:10:00

All this talk of an 'extra' hour in bed annoys me. The dog and cat are up and about, expecting breakfast, at 5.30 instead of 6.30, that's all!

crazyH Mon 26-Oct-20 10:11:16

Night owl here - midnight or past, till 8.30a.m.

Kim19 Mon 26-Oct-20 10:12:56

What's an hour early?!! Like my eating, I just do the deed as and when. Ain't retirement grand.....

tanith Mon 26-Oct-20 10:14:04

I was awake as the sun came up not sure what time it was trotted to the bathroom and went back to bed till 6:30 got a cuppa and watched the news till jumping in the shower. No different really as my clock seems to work to daylight coming no matter what the clock says.

b1zzle Mon 26-Oct-20 10:20:34

Yep - unfortunately cats don't know about BST so mine expected breakfast at the 'normal' time!

Juliet27 Mon 26-Oct-20 10:20:56

That’s my timings too Calendargirl although rather than get up straight away I look at my iPad for a while. It will take a while for the dog to adjust to the change

nipsmum Mon 26-Oct-20 10:22:54

I was up an hour early yesterday morning because my dogs don't know about British Summertime .

Coconut Mon 26-Oct-20 10:26:23

I woke at 5.30 today but as I’ve got 3 of my grandsons for 2 days that’s good, gave me time to prepare for 8.30 arrival !

Loobs Mon 26-Oct-20 10:32:20

I am currently quarantining after returning from France last week - got up early so I could walk round and round the garden without anyone being able to see me (it does look daft) as I normally walk three to four miles every morning and will go mad if I don't exercise.

TanaMa Mon 26-Oct-20 10:37:28

Had to take one of my dogs to the Vet to have a suspect lump removed from her shoulder. As she is nearly 11 I am nervous about the operation and anaesthetic. Up early so she could have a run first - and forget she couldn't have her breakfast! Now a nail biting day until she comes home.

Woke up about 8, disconnected from my dialysis machine, went back to sleep again.
