This is one of many I had when my 4 grandchildren were small. A nice selection of sing a long songs. If you check it on Amazon you’ll see the song list. I checked and it’s still in stock and only £5.

My Dgc's favourite has been "Sing and dance with The Little Lunchies".

If I remember rightly, this CD was a freebie fron the Early Learning Centre, but I'm sure you could get hold of a second hand copy if you can't get a brand new one.

The songs, as the title hints, are all food related (Jelly on a plate, One potato, Oranges and lemons, Do you know the muffin man, to name just a few of the 15 tracks)

My youngest dgc (2.4 years) still loves this and wants it on whenever she is here.

If you have Spotify ...there are simply thousands of songs and nursery rhymes ! We made our grandchildren their own lists and we /they have added to it as they have grown ...they even listened to songs from donkeys yrs ago a particular favourite been Run Rabbit run run run when they were toddlers ! ( they are 10 and 4 now )

DH bought a set of DVD's from B&M (I think) for DGD when she was very small and both kids have absolutely loved them and still ask for them at almost 7 and 3.5yrs.

It's just called a Great set of DVD's for kids. It's kids from a theatre school in somewhere like Preston singing and dancing nursery rhymes and kids songs.

4 DVD's lasting about 20 minutes each so not too long to be having the TV on.

My little ones loved the songs of Elizabeth Mitchell - you can get CDs and the music is on Spotify.

Funbox are very popular in Scotland, also book bug in libraries have lots of songs on CDs which you can also stream to cars on iPhone. That might also be only in Scotland though. DGS1 is nearly 7 and just over last year has progressed from the nursery rhymes to having his own taste. I think girls seem to be more interested in pop than boys at this age {grin}

DGS loves ABBA has done from an early age, we have danced and sang around the house for 8 years now.

Grannynannywanny. I had that one for the car. A brilliant selection of children's songs.

We had a few books of nursery rhymes with words and pictures which came with CDs.

Yes kittylester you can’t beat a good sing song in the car. I’m straining my brain trying to remember the cd that was our absolute favourite. It was associated with a nationwide pre school toddler group for interactive singing and dancing. I used to take my gc to it 12 years ago. If I remember correctly (and that’s a big if these days) there was a rag doll type character on their logo and mini versions of it were sold in the class. Anyone remember?

I used to go to a music and movement group with the DGD but of course, it's not possible at the moment which is so sad for young children. That reminded me of:

(Except for Granny who is a bit slower)

I’ve just remembered the name of the interactive group where I took my grandchildren..Jo Jingles. Not that the groups are possible this year. But they have a website with great CDs and DVDs.

The CDs ‘Hello Children Everywhere’ and ‘Hello Children Everywhere 2’ have loads of older children’s songs which many of us will remember from our own childhoods. It’s really nice to pass these songs on to another generation.

I didn't just play childrens songs to my GC ,of course I did the old favourites at bed time etc but I played allsorts of music.I used to dance in the kitchen and up an down the hall with them,my GS can do a mean cha cha thanks to me.They all love a huge variety of music our 9 year old is currently into 90's dance music and says it better than modern pop .Dont think because they're yung they should only have simple sounds

Just sing anything! I remember when I worked in early years, a wee three year old treated us to a spirited rendition of ‘ Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat’! The children who spent a lot of time with grandparents always had a much more varied repertoire than those who didn’t.

One of the songs that my grandson loves is all about trains and called something like "Early in the Morning......" - he loves me to sing it to him. All well and good except even when he is not with us I find it going round and round in my head. I even woke up singing the blasted song the other morning!

If he is just playing with his toys try a bit of Bach supposed to be good for the brains of babies and young children!

I would advise against baby shark, will drive you up the proverbial!!
