The more tenuous and obscure the better!
My aunty went out with the bloke who designed * both*
A) the Cadbury's Chocolate Orange packaging, and
B) Buzby, the British Telecom mascot

Noel Fitzpatrick operated on my dog, before he came famous, in 2005.

In 1807 my 4 x great grandparents were married by Patrick Bronte, father of Emily, Anne and Jane Bronte.

My mum did the Stork test with Leslie Crowther outside a supermarket in Deptford

Oh and I used to go to a ladies keep fit and dance class run by Len Goodman at his old studio in Dartford. We used to have a break halfway through and he'd have a fag and open the bar for all those keeping fit!!

Just like to day that was Noel Fitzpatrick that became famous, not my dog .

That is so amazing Chestnut - I have been to Howarth and visited the church where they lived and where your 4 x grandparents were married! smile

I can't believe that I forgot to say that one of the Bonzo Dog Doo-Da band lived in this house before we bought it. He was here when we viewed it but I don't know which one it was! shock

When I was 10 I briefly had a pen friend in Canada. A few years ago I found her again and she’s married to Bill Clinton’s cousin.

I once sat next to one of TV's romantic heros on a plane - yes Howard from 'Last of the Summer Wine'! No sign of Marina.

That's too wonderful for words - there's a novel in there!

Oh that reminded me...I once saw Marina in Madeira

My Step Brother is a personal friend of Princess Anne, who he met through his connections with the Horse world. She sends him a Christmas Card every year.

My Late Uncle was the Chief Archictect responsible for a lot of the large London famous Landmarks, he spent a large part of his Career as Chief Architect for Wimpy, and lived in a gated community in Buckingham, alongside Cilla Black and Wendy Craig.

Oh, and when I was 14, I met Tony Christie as I collected his Autograph after one of his shows, he was Horrible, I was just a Child, and he was a drunk Sloppy wet Kisser who stank of Booze! Yukk!

Grandma11 Sat 21-Nov-20 09:22:12

My Late Sister in law lived opposite to Lucy Gannon, who wrote the Peak Practice series, she often had various other cast members staying with her, including Simon Shepard, Amanda Burton, and Dawn French, who was married to Lenny Henry at the time. They often Chatted to local people whilst out walking their Dogs, and Lenny once asked to park his Range Rover on my Sister in laws Drive due to roadworks outside Lucy's House. The opening shot in the series was taken from my Niece's bedroom window, overlooking the town of Wirksworth, and the plumb of smoke from the house Chimney was specially lit on a Summers day in the house where she grew up.

Chestnut - did your forebears live in Haworth? Are they buried in the graveyard there?

JackieBee1 Sat 21-Nov-20 10:18:54

Alan Titchmarsh parked his car (legitimately) in the car park of the block of flats where I live, and Prince Andrew nearly ran me over at Badminton Horse Trials. Runs and hides...

In the 70’s I went to a local disco and Johnnie Walker was the DJ. He wrote his autograph on my forearm! Still love his programmes now, lovely bloke!

A famous actress, now dead, was my Uncle Franks cousin. He said he saw her waiting for a bus and she was carrying a baby. She was about 16 at the time.
Prince Philip visited my home town of Dorchester and laughed at the shop called The Horse with the Red Umbrella. Unfortunately I did not see him but it was in the local paper.

Where is todays Gransnet?

Cressida Sat 21-Nov-20 12:18:00

DanniRae your mention of the Bonzo Dog Do Da band reminded me that Neil Innes was 2 years ahead of me at school. One year he designed a linocut school Christmas Card. My Mum kept one for years but it wasn't with her things when she died.

Codyodo Sat 21-Nov-20 12:25:04

My mum went to the same school as Val Doonican in Waterford, Eire and I served Jill
from Crossroads to a pair of satin wedding shoes when I worked in Dolcis.

Grannynannywanny Sat 21-Nov-20 12:39:04

JackieBee1 I’m picturing the scene and just wondering if Andrew was driving a car or riding a horse at the time?

Anniebach Sat 21-Nov-20 12:43:16

I stepped on Mel Gibson’s foot. Poured Stephane Grappelli a
whisky. Salman Rushdie helped me carry my shopping to my
car. Had coffee many times with George Melly.

Wetnosewheatie Sat 21-Nov-20 14:51:49

I opened Rick Astleys bank account when he was a YTS

Moth62 Sat 21-Nov-20 15:25:41

Just remembered, one of my sons was at summer camp with the grandson of the actor Edward Kelsey who played Joe Grundy in The Archers.

Also, the rugby player Stevie Bainbridge slept in my bed at college. I was away that weekend...
