Have been managing my insomnia for a while but quite regularly wake after a couple of hours sleep. Get fed up of reading and don't like to do anything that would disturb my DH noise wise. Don't like the long lonely nights that leave me feeling jittery the next day, as though I've just got off a long haul overnight flight. Doing everything I can to live as stress free as possible but then even the smallest things can become humongus! I guess it's just about going with the flow and accepting it. It's OK when I haven't much on but I don't want to limit my life, my creativity goes out the window and I'm sure I'm not very nice to live with!

We visited Holy Island and Lindisfarne a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. It must be lovely to have a new area to explore Woodmouse.

Worst night fir a long time don’t think I have slept all night. I have a radio which I can put on for an hour and have done this every hour since going to bed at 11.
I don’t nap during the day so it’s going to be a long day ahead,

Morning Fanny! Glad to here you too love Northumberland. It's a truly magical place. I love Cornwall too but we couldn't afford the sort of property there that we were able to buy in Northumberland and DH could never have coped with the crowds in the summer.

I saw your picture of Lolly on another thread. I've got a little bichon / Tibetan spaniel cross called Gracie.
She's going to the groomers tomorrow. Our neighbors are kindly taking her as DH is not up to driving yet.

Yes, it's great getting to know a new area but it's been difficult trying to integrate due to the lockdowns etc. We're very friendly folk though and the neighbours are lovely. Big hopes for next year.

jdga, I have just made myself a hot milk. Sleep is eluding me. DH is dead to the world so it's me, Classic FM and GN this morning. I'm going to be like a Zombie today!

It's silly o'clock in the morning. I don't know whether that qualifies me to be a Night Owl, maybe an early morning owl, not sure they'd he hooting, it's a bit late for the owl community, I imagine they've finished the night shift and have retired back to the land of nod. I've been lying in bed for a while contemplating whether to get up. Decided to bite the bullet and do that, good to know there are quite a few of us who don't sleep well.

Hi, can I join in please? As the WIFE of a night owl? My husband’s family have been insomniacs and I think inherited this trait. He has tried lots of things to induce sleep but to no avail. I am lucky in that I usually sleep well. But my husband now has an aversion to his own bed (we have separate rooms). He basically uses his recliner chair to sit in most of the day and sleep in (if he can) most of the night. Over the last year he has had the onset of arthritis and also before covid, was down for a knee op, on the proviso that he lost alot of weight. This is not going to happen as he has a habit of eating in the night. His mobility is getting worse. Also suffers from restless legs. He is taking codiene as and when as advised by the doctor. He also has anxiety attacks most days whereby he has to get out the house and has been known to drive his car for some relief in the middle of the night! Don’t know how to help him but get told I am unsympathetic. ☹️

Woodmouse I was born And brought up in Northumberland. Many chilly holidays in Bamburgh as a child. “Shopping in Newcastle”. When I was little meant my mother in a suit (she called it a costume) and hat and a visit for morning coffee in Bainbridges cafeteria (called the chattery!) or Fenwicks.
